VIVIAN HOWE
Funeral services for Vivian (Vicki) Howe, 62, of Steele, Missouri were held Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Steele. Brother Jim Mousie and Brother Kenny Lee officiated. Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville, Mo.
Howe, born Aug. 29, 1940, in Helena, died Aug. 14, 2003, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
She was the daughter of Hubert and Mildred Herrington of West Memphis, formerly of Helena. She attended and graduated from Helena public schools and graduated from Helena Hospital School of Nursing in 1959.
Howe was a nurse, bookkeeper for Howe Grain, and an activity director at the River Oaks Care Center, a Girl Scout leader, was a member and served as president of the Mu Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, served on the South Pemiscot School Board in Steele, Mo., was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a choir member. Vicki was one who would give of herself to help others.
On May 27, 1960 she and Henry Howe were united in marriage in Helena.
She leaves her husband Henry A. (Mickey) Howe; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharree and Brian Kelm of Kennett, Mo., two sons, Shawn and Shane Howe of Goose Creek, S.C.; a grandson, Dylan Howe of Caruthersville, Mo.; her parents Hubert and Mildred Herrington of West Memphis; two sisters and brothers-in-law Donna and Bobby Brown of Helena and Judy and Tommy Moore of Crawfordsville; a brother and sister in-law, Bill and Marilyn Herrington of Conway; her mother-in-law, Wilma Howe of Steele, Mo., three sisters-in-law and their families, Daphna and Clarence Williams, Stella and Glen Griffin of Steele, Mo., and Ruth and Russ Dailey of Malvern; 15 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele, Mo.
SHIRLEY HOUSE
Funeral services for Shirley J. House, 57, of Southland will be held at noon Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003 at the Springlake M.B. Church in the Southland Community. Rev. Malcolm Curne will officiate. Burial will be at Springlake cemetery in the Southland Community.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in West Helena.
House, born Feb. 23, 1946, in Southland, died Aug. 13, 2003, in the Southland community. She was a life-long resident of Southland. Family and friends will miss her signature smile.
House was employed for many years by A&T; Factory Outlet until the business closed and by Wal-Mart until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of many years, John Q. House Sr.; her mother, Pearl Brantley of Chicago, Ill., two sons, John Q. House Jr., of Southland and Dwight E. and Felita House of West Helena; two daughters, Sherry House-Frierson of Southland and Debra House-Bailey and her husband Dr. Thomas Bailey of Southland; four brothers, Elihue Bone Jr. and Colbert Bone of Gary, Ind., Melvin Bone of Waukegan, Ill., and James Brantley Jr., of Chicago; four sisters, Deloris Funches and Barbara Spears of Chicago, Ill., Marjoyce Wiggins of Gary, Ind., and Carrie Martin of Lexa; 15 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

DOROTHY BURK
Funeral services for Dorothy Beatrice Burk, 94, of West Helena were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003 at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Brother Mike Shelley and Brother Randy Burk officiated. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.
Burk, born July 14, 1909 in Mississippi, died Aug. 15, 2003 in Helena.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.
She leaves her husband of 74 years Hubert Burk of West Helena; two daughters Helen Whitby of West Helena and Myrtis and Charles Duffel of Marvell; two sons and daughters-in-law Buddy and Marie Burk and Charles and Cathy Burk of West Helena; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.

FLOYD MITCHELL
Graveside services for Floyd L. Mitchell, 88, of West Helena will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tuscumbia City cemetery in Tuscumbia, Ala. Brother Ed White will officiate.
Mitchell, born Aug. 3, 1915 in Colbert County, Ala., died Aug. 16, 2003 in Helena.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
He was a retired auto mechanic and a member of the Valdosta Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II and a member of the V.F.W. Post.
She leaves a son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Dot Flanagan of West Helena; a sister Wilma L. Malone of Tuscumbia, Ala., granddaughters, Lindsey Goshorn of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Ashley Shaw of Jonesboro. His wife, Lucille L. Mitchell and a sister, Dorothy Gotcher preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the Valdosta Church of Christ in Tuscumbia, Ala.

STEPHANIE WEST
FORREST CITY - Funeral services for Stephanie Carol Jones West, 21, of Forrest City were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003 at the chapel of Stevens Funeral Home in Forrest City. Burial was in the Bell cemetery. West baby daughter Karly Don McLaughlin, also died in the accident.
Her death came unexpected Friday, Aug. 15, 2003 at the Med in Memphis, following an automobile accident.
She was born July 5, 1982 in Forrest City, and was the daughter of Dana Carol Jones and Phyllis Ann Adams Jones. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life and attended the Old Fashion Baptist Church in Palestine.
She leaves her fiancée, Bradley McLaughlin of Forrest City; a daughter, Kaydin Elizabeth West of Forrest City; her parents Dana Carol Jones of Palestine and Phyllis Jones of West Helena; a sister, Amy Lasha McElduff of Palestine; her paternal grandparents, Dana and Delores Jones of Palestine, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services for Henry Wooten, 61, of Rondo will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003 at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. The Rev. Rodger Hooker will officiate. Burial will be at Marianna Memorial Park in Marianna.
Wooten, born June 26, 1942, in Rondo, died Aug. 12, 2003, at his home. He was a farmer.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Roller-Citizens.
He leaves a son Tracy Wooten of Rondo; a daughter Dena Pickle of Magnolia, Texas; five brothers, Walter, Irvin, Joel and Albert Wooten of Marianna and Harry Wooten of Osceola; three sisters, Lilly Mae Fry of Lakeland, Fla., Ona Mae Griffin of Marianna and Elizabeth Jones of West Helena and four grandchildren.
His parents Henry H. and Mae Alice Wooten; two brothers Lamar Wooten and Herman Wooten all preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Robert Wooten, David Griffith, Andy Wooten, Jimmy Fry, Danny Wooten and Joe Coe.

Funeral services for Bennie Estes, 75, of West Helena will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2003 at Cleburne Avenue Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ben Bateman and the Rev. Richard Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
Estes, born June 1, 1928, died Aug. 12, 2003, in Memphis.
He was a retire petroleum inspector for Texas Eastern, an elder and active member of Cleburne Avenue Presbyterian Church for 49 years, a member of the Delta Attachment Marine Corp League and of American Legion Post 41 in Helena.
He leaves his wife of 51 years Betty Hale Estes; two sons Glen Estes of West Helena and Kent Estes of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters, Katy Estes of West Helena and Kym Estes Ashburn of Marianna; two grandsons, Michael Estes of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Michael Williams of West Helena; a special friend Diana Hendricks.
His parents Ben F. Estes and Bessie Lann Estes, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Mark Rogers, Brian Ketchum, Leon Smith, Elmer Leslie, Matt Ashburn and Ed Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Men of Cleburne Avenue Presbyterian Church, Texas Eastern Retirees, Harold Boals, W.A. Rogers, Buddy Lynn, Joe Maxwell, Hal Scaife, James Hendricks and Tommy Inebnit.

Carter, born Feb. 16, 1988, in Little Rock, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2003.
He was a ninth grade student at Marvell High School and attended Mt. Shelby M.B Church at Marvell.
He leaves his mother, Paula Abrams of Poplar Grove, a sister, Sabrina, two brothers W.E.B. and David Abrams of Poplar Grove; his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Carter of Poplar Grove; his grandmother Millie Smith of Marvell; three uncles, Marcus, Timothy and Avery Carter and an aunt, Renetta Tate.
