GENEVA THOMPSON

Funeral services for Geneva Thompson, 92, of West Helena will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003 at the True Vine M.B. Church in West Helena. The Rev. Wade will officiate at the services. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial cemetery in the Southland community.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2003 at the chapel of J.M. Calhoun Funeral Home at 230 Walnut St., Helena.

Thompson, born Dec. 28, 1910, in Marvell, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at Helena Regional Medical Center.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a sister Corine Pearson Sidney of West Helena; a goddaughter Curlene Sumpter of Barton; two god-sons Benzene Collier of Helena and Vester Spearks of Milwaukee, Wis., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her church family at New Light Baptist Church.

J.M. Calhoun Funeral Home in Helena will direct services.

DENNIS MABRY

Funeral services for Dennis Mabry 43, of Little Rock, formerly of Helena will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at the New Zion Baptist Church. Bishop Leroy Carter will officiate. Burial will be at Magnolia cemetery in Helena.

Mabry, born March 6, 1960 to Don and Linda Mabry in Corinth, Miss., died Aug. 14, 2003 at the University hospital in Little Rock.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the First Baptist Church in Midland Heights in Helena.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Don Mabry of Oklahoma City, Okla., Linda Mabry of Helena; a daughter Shameka Mabry of Memphis; five brothers, Ronnie and Michael Mabry of Oklahoma, Don and Brenda Mabry of Helena, Alfred and Pia Davis and James Davis of Helena; his fiancée June Newsome of Memphis; three uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A sister, Edith Mabry preceded him in death.

Brown's Home for Funerals will direct services.

VIVIAN HOWE

Funeral services for Vivian (Vicki) Howe, 62, of Steele, Missouri were held Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Steele. Brother Jim Mousie and Brother Kenny Lee officiated. Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville, Mo.

Howe, born Aug. 29, 1940, in Helena, died Aug. 14, 2003, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.

She was the daughter of Hubert and Mildred Herrington of West Memphis, formerly of Helena. She attended and graduated from Helena public schools and graduated from Helena Hospital School of Nursing in 1959.

Howe was a nurse, bookkeeper for Howe Grain, and an activity director at the River Oaks Care Center, a Girl Scout leader, was a member and served as president of the Mu Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, served on the South Pemiscot School Board in Steele, Mo., was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a choir member. Vicki was one who would give of herself to help others.

On May 27, 1960 she and Henry Howe were united in marriage in Helena.

She leaves her husband Henry A. (Mickey) Howe; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharree and Brian Kelm of Kennett, Mo., two sons, Shawn and Shane Howe of Goose Creek, S.C.; a grandson, Dylan Howe of Caruthersville, Mo.; her parents Hubert and Mildred Herrington of West Memphis; two sisters and brothers-in-law Donna and Bobby Brown of Helena and Judy and Tommy Moore of Crawfordsville; a brother and sister in-law, Bill and Marilyn Herrington of Conway; her mother-in-law, Wilma Howe of Steele, Mo., three sisters-in-law and their families, Daphna and Clarence Williams, Stella and Glen Griffin of Steele, Mo., and Ruth and Russ Dailey of Malvern; 15 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele, Mo.

ROBERTA WILLIAMS

Funeral services for Roberta Tate Williams, 82, of Marvell will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at the Asbury M.B. Church in Marvell. Burial will be in the Lone Valley cemetery.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. this evening at the chapel of Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home in Marvell.

Williams, born July 4, 1922 in Phillips County to the late Noah Tate and Elnora Lyles Tate, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004 at Helena Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Asbury M.B. Church in Marvell and was a homemaker.

She leaves three sons John Williams Jr., of Turner, Robert Williams of West Helena and James Williams of Jonesboro; four daughters Glover Williams and Veora Albert of Marvell, Delois Williams of East St. Louis and Gwendolyn Millender of Bellville, Ill, three brothers, Hezcial Tate of Helena, M.C. Tate of Dundee, Miss., and Israel Tate of Chicago, Ill., 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Bob Neal and Sons-Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell will direct services.

JOYCE RUSSELL PERDUE

Funeral services for Joyce Russell Ratliff Perdue, 59, of West Helena will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Brother Sanders will officiate. Burial will be at Central cemetery in the Barton-Lexa Community.

Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Perdue, born April 14, 1945 in Gunnison, Miss., died Dec. 27, 2004 in Wynne. She was a beautician.

She leaves two daughters Vickey Bright of West Helena and Kim and Gene Wilburn of Helena; a son Allan Scott Freeman of West Helena and a brother Thomas Grady Russell of Sardis, Miss., 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Her parents Grady and Alberta Kendall Russell, a daughter Paula Lenora Stennet, and husband Arnold Perdue, two brothers Talmidge Wesley Russell and George Edward Russell preceded her in death.

Pallbearers will be Gene Wilburn, Tommy Bright, Michael Davis, Ricky Berry, Tommy Stevens and Allen Bright.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will direct services.

ANNIE M. LINDLEY

Funeral services for Annie M. Lindley, 88, of West Helena will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2004 at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Daily will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Lindley, born Oct. 9, 1916 in Houston, Miss., died Dec. 28, 2004 at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. She was employed as a machine operator at the old Helena Sportswear in West Helena and was a member of Second Baptist Church in West Helena.

She leaves a daughter and son-in-law Diane and Larry Groves of Helena; a son Gene Lindley of West Helena; a sister Irene Sanderson of Houston, Miss. Granddaughter and husband Renee and Nixon Stingley of Helena; a grandson Jason White of West Helena and great grandsons Nicholas and Preston Stingley of Helena.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will direct services.

ELIZA MORRIS

Funeral services for Eliza Morris, 90, of Marvell will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the New Zion M.B. Church. The Rev. Calvin Jackson will officiate. Burial will be at the Postelle cemetery in the Postelle Community.

Morris, born July 26, 1914 in Marion, the daughter of Rufus and Berda Jones, died Dec. 27, 2004 at Crestpark Skilled Nursing Home in Helena. She was a homemaker and a member of New Zion M.B. Church.

She leaves four sons, Jimmy Lee Morris and Harrison Morris III of Marvell, Roosevelt Morris of Los Angeles, Calif., and Johnny B. Morris of Indianapolis, Ind., a daughter Doris Helen Reynolds of Kansas City, Mo., two sisters Minnie Duffin and Rosie Mae Perry of Marion and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bob Neal and Sons-Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell will direct services.

ANN BEITH

Funeral services for Ann Beith, 68, of Blue Springs, Miss., will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday Jan. 2, 2005 at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Beith, born June 8, 1936 in Jonestown, Miss., died Dec. 31, 2004 in Blue Springs, Miss.

She was employed as a Casino Hostess and was a member of a women's bowling league.

She leaves two daughters, Becky Doshier of Blue Springs, Miss., and Vickie Stempson of Bakersville, Calif., three sisters Josephine McKnight of Clarksdale, Miss., Elenor Wells of Russellville and Udie Freeman of Memphis, Tenn., grandchildren Shaun Smith of Blue Springs, Miss., Brandi Hamblin and husband Kenny of Blue Springs, Miss., Nolan Stempson of Bakersville, Calif., and Keith Stempton of Ventura, Calif., great grandchildren Nicholas Stempson and Jensen Stempson of Ventura, Calif., and Trenton Hamblin of Blue Springs.

Her husband William Beith preceded her in death.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will direct services.

WILLIE MCMAHAN

Willie "Pete" McMahan, 79, of Helena passed away December 30, 2004 at his residence. He was born December 24, 1925 in Mississippi to the late Cleve McMahan and Reba Phillips McMahan Bice.

Mr. McMahan was married to Maxine Sellers for 52 loving years. He worked as a millwright for Chicago Mill for 41 years and enjoyed fishing, growing a garden, watching baseball games, and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves his wife Maxine Sellers McMahan; three sons Eugene McMahan of Caldwell, Billy McMahan and wife Glenda of Kauffman, Texas, Johnny McMahan and wife Mary of Forrest City, three daughters, Patty Fitts and husband Mikell of Lexa, Betty McMahan and Susan McMahan Tally both of Helena; a sister, Geraldine Butts of Dallas, Texas, eleven grandchildren; Bill McMahan, Felisha McMahan Brewer, J.R. McMahan, Christopher McMahan, Eric McMahan, James McMahan, Johnny McMahan Jr., Matt McMahan, Jason Fitts, Adam Fitts, and Ashley Talley, and three great-grandchildren Sarah Brewer, Sarah McMahan, and Madison Brewer.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 at Odd Fellows cemetery in West Helena. The Rev. Joe Garner will officiate.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will direct services.

BOB ANDERSON

Bob Anderson, well known West Helena resident, passed away this morning at his home in West Helena.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

WILLIE CLASH

Funeral services for Willie Clash Sr., 66, of Elaine will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 at the Phillips, Lee, Monroe and Desha District Center at Helena Crossing. The Rev. Cedric Pride will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Grove cemetery in West Helena.

Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Brown's Home for Funerals in West Helena.

ROOSEVELT JOHNSON

Funeral services for Roosevelt Johnson, 85, of Barton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1 at the First Baptist Church at Barton. Rev. Jackson will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.

Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. today and from 9 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Brown's Home For Funerals will direct services.
