Jessie Mills
Jessie James Mills, 78, from Snyder, Texas, died September 13, 2001, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder, Texas.
He was born on June 12, 1923, in Harrisburg.
He married Geneva Hendrix in 1950 in Prescott and she preceded him in death on March 15, 1974. He then married Ruby Green on May 29, 1999.
He was an oil field roughneck, having retired after 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, B.F. and Leona Mills, and also by three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife: Ruby Mills of Snyder, Texas; four daughters: Priscilla (Pam) Holden of Snyder, Texas, Wanda Flores of Richardson, Texas, Judy Mills of Booneville and Jessie Marie Mills of Oklahoma; three sons: David Mills of Bryan, Texas, Wayne Mills of Prescott and Gary Mills of Texarkana, Texas; four grandchildren: Robin Maresch, Robert Jessie Holden, Amanda Flores and Michael Flores; two great-grandchildren: Rebekka Holden McDowell and JohnnyDean Maresch and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were at Dunn cemetery, Sunday, September 16, 2001, at 2 p.m. Burial was in Dunn cemetery.

Belma Bryan
Belma C. Bryan, 85, of Prescott, died Friday, September 14, 2001, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
She was born April 19, 1916, in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Albert and Ezaura Mendoca Coutinho.
She was a former food service supervisor with Beverly Enterprises.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur V. Bryan.
Her survivors include: three sons: Mike Bryan and Christy of Prescott, Hilary Bryan of Texas, and Robert Pashon and Marla of Colville, Washington; one daughter, Leslie Halpern and Peter of Springdale; one brother, Albert P. Coutinho of Valdosta, Georgia; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Her body was cremated. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Ida Rawlins
Ida Mae Barham Rawlins, 85, of Mabelvale, died September 24, 2001.
She was born October 29, 1915, in Beirne, to Rev. Criss Barham and Ola Mae Holt Barham.
She attended Redland Schools in Nevada County and married Roy Rowlins in October 1936. They shared a loving marriage for 32 years until his sudden death in October 1968. Both were musicians who made it possible for their two daughters to receive extensive musical training.
Ida Mae loved caring for her home and family and, for several years, provided after school care for children. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and loved her church family at Temple Baptist in Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, M.C. and Harvey Barham, and sisters, Aline Burley and Helen Martin.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty (Rev. Duane) Kingston of Lonoke, and Bobbie Rawlins of Mabelvale; three grandsons, Tony (Vickie) of Mabelvale, Barry (Tammy) of Benton, and Ben (Dawn) Kingston of Lonedell, MO., and four great grandsons, and two great granddaughters who loved their "G.G."
Funeral services were at Temple Baptist Church, 10710 I-30, in Little Rock, on Thursday, September 27, 2001, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Ben Kingston, Rev. Duane Kingston and Rev. Martin Jameson officiating. Interment will be at DeAnne cemetery in Prescott, at 3 p.m.
The family received friends at Roller-Drummond Southwest (455-5800) on Wednesday, September 26, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

William Kirk
William Shirley Kirk, 81, of Cale, died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
He was born April 23, 1920, in Nevada County, to Henry Jeff and Beulah Buchanan Kirk.
He was a retired farmer and construction worker, and former owner/operator of Kirk's Grocery in Cale.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Marie Kirk who died in March, 2000, and by one sister, Brodie Knight. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.
His survivors include: two sons: Gary Nelson Kirk of Lewisville and Kenneth Michael Kirk of Forrest City; two daughters: Patsy Marie Littrell and Sandra Kaye Melton both of Cale; two brothers: Duncan Kirk of Commanche, Texas and Dennis Kirk of Camden; two sisters: Katherine Porterfield of Chidester and Evelyn Martindale of Prescott and eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2001, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Fincher Knight officiating. Burial to follow in Ebenezer cemetery in Bluff City.
Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home. Family received friends, Sunday, October 7, 2001, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dollie Stovall
Dollie Stovall, 93, of Prescott, died Sunday, October 7, 2001, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott.
She was born on August 17, 1908, in Nevada County, to Ed and Laura Parks Renfro.
She was a housewife and a member of the First Christian Church of Prescott all of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Stovall who died in 1973, and by one son, Bennie Dee Stovall, and by one sister, Docia McHenry.
Survivors include: Calvin Stovall of Hope; one niece: Abby Wilson of Prescott; one nephew: Sam McHenry of Hope and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2001, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott. Burial was in DeAnn cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
Family received friends on Monday, October 8, 2001, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lucy Pounds
Lucy Alice Pounds, 76, of Amity, died Saturday, October 6, 2001.
She was born on December 15, 1924, at Amity, the daughter of Wayne Rowan and Lurley Lowther Rowan. On December 15, 1942, she was married to Harold Pounds who preceded her in death on January 13, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Gwen Parker; her brother, Melvin Rowan; and her grandson.
She was a member of the Amity Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, church recorder and former chairperson of the hospitality committee. She was the first woman manager of the Nevada County Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Steed of Amity; two grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one brother, Ivan Rowan of Knox City, Texas; one sister, Carolyn Inlow of Amity; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2001, in the Amity First Baptist Church with Rev. John McAnally officiating.
Interment was in the Coker cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Pall bearers were Ashley Garner, Amy Lewis, Rhonda Mengis, Sammie Benjamin, Risa Parker and Rowena Parker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 919 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1100, Chicago, Illinois 60611.

Beulah Delaney
Beulah Watson Delaney of Camden was born January 19, 1906, and died October 21, 2001.
She was a member of the Rushing Memorial United Methodist Church in Chidester.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie H. Delaney, Sr. and sons, Billy H. Delaney and Willie H. Delaney, Jr.
She is survived by two sons, James Terrell Delaney of Lewisville and Robert Ellis Delaney of Camden; daughter, Mary Jo Sherrod of Texarkana, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Proctor Funeral Home was in Ebenezer cemetery in Bluff City. Rev. Joe Miller and Homer Sherrod will officiate the service.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Proctor Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Nell Norman
Nell Marie Norman, 84, of Berkley, Ca, formerly of Prescott, died October 22, in Berkeley, Calif.
She was born August 17, 1917, in Prescott, to William Newton and Laura Sandifer Norman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one child: Noveline Jackson.
She attended Prairie View A&M; University and was a retired nurse at Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek, Ca. She continued to work as a private nurse for several more years, finally retiring at 79.
She is survived by: five children: James Sanders of Petaluma, Calif., Louise Douglas of San Fransicsco, Calif., Dortothy Whitmire of Dallas, Texas, Harding T. Deon, Jr. and his wife; Hyacinth of Prescott, and Janice Edwards and husband: Dwight of Baltimore, Md.; one sister: Sarah Mae Winfrey of Oakland, Calif.; one brother: William Norman of Prescott; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Norman Whitmire, Eldridege A. Deon, William and Jason Cavil, Dwight and David Edwards. Honorary were Willie and Horace Norman, James Sanders, Olen Johnson, John L. Block, Lorenzo Blalock, and James Kelly. Flower bearers were The Sandifer family and Munns Chapel Mission Ladies.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 27, at 4 p.m. at the Mt. Cana Baptist Church in Prescott. Burial followed in the Sweet Home cemetery in Prescott. Under the direction of Marks Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Officiating was Rev. Arthur Hill, Sr.

Mae Hamilton
Mae Grayson Hamilton, 63, of Prescott, died Wednesday, October 17, 2001, in Little Rock.
She was born October 10, 1938, in Dumas. She was a teacher in Prescott Public Schools. Member of the Arkansas Education Association, the National Education Association, the Literacy Council, and the Nevada County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Boughton. Member of Deaconess, Hospitality Committee, Outreach Mission, and Women's Missionary Society. She was Children's Church Coordinator, and Chair of the Program Committee.
Survivors include: her husband: Johnny Hamilton, Jr. of Prescott; two daughters: Michele Hamilton Rhodes of Prescott and Nicole Hamilton of Dallas, Tx.; one grandchild: Grayson Rhodes of Prescott; mother (aunt): Nannette Jackson of Arkadelphia.
Services were at 2:30 Monday, October 22, 2001 at the Prescott High School Gymnasium in Prescott. Burial at Washington Hill cemetery in Boughton. Visitation was 6-7 p.m. Sunday at Hicks Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the (Mae) Hamilton Heroes Scholarship Fund at the Bank of Prescott (account number 51-802-6), Prescott.
