Lula Butler
Lula M. Butler, 99, of Prescott died, Monday, November 19, 2001, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
Butler was born May 4, 1902, in Nevada County near Bluff Springs to her parents Joseph E. and Mary S. Dillard.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Prescott.
Butler was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth Butler in 1942, her husband, Hody W. Butler, Sr. in 1969, four sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include one son, Hody W. Butler, Jr. and his wife, Jacquelyn Ann Butler, three grandsons, Tada K. Butler, Kelly J. Kile and husband, Bruce, Wendi A. Halloway and husband Darin, four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Britton, Grace, and Tad, all of Dallas, Texas. Also surviving were some very special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel November 21 with bro. Jimmy Hull, Bro. Louie Wesson and Bro. Donnie Dillard officiating. Burial was at Deanne cemetery under direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.

Neal Hopson
Neal C. Hopson, 95, of Hope died Sunday, November 18, 2001, at a Nashville Hospital.
Hopson was born in Laneburg on September 30, 1906.
He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include children, Johnie Lee Hopson, Rosie Lee Jones, Nellie J. Jones, Josiephine McPherson, all of Hope; Maxine White, Shirley Benton, Hazel Thomas, Betty Harding all of Wichita, Kan., Carolyn Holland of Ft. Worth, Texas, 33 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 24, in Providence Baptist Church in Hope with Rev. Johnny L. Jones with burial Azar cemetery.

Glenn Chambers
Glenn R. Chambers, 62, of Delight, was called to his eternal home on Tuesday, November 20, 2001, at his home.
Chambers was born June 18, 1939, in Dierks, to Roscoe and Imogene Gilbert Chambers.
He was a Minister and long time pastor of the Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Delight and was preaching at the Bowen Community Church in Delight. He was a member of the Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Delight.
Treasuring his memory in their heart are, his loving wife, June Nabors Chambers of Delight; his two sons and daughter-in-laws, Robert Glenn Chambers of Delight, and Richard Lewis and Rebecca Chambers of Hope; his sister, Patricia Peck of Mena; his five grandchildren, Jeremy Chambers, Blake Chambers, Cory Chambers, Bevin Chambers, and Richard Lewis Chambers, Jr.
Services were Friday, November 23, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Delight with Bro. John Fannin officiating.
Interment was at Bowen cemetery in Delight.
Visitation was Thursday, November 22, 2001, at 6 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home. The family has entrusted these services to the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott.

Ola Morgan
Ola B. Morgan, 82, of Prescott, passed from this life on Thursday, December 13, 2001, in the Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott.
She was a nurses aide and a member of the Prescott Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Morgan of Prescott; one daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Stanley White of Texarkana, Texas; two granddaughters, Ann and Molly White of Texarkana, Texas; one niece, Sue Pollock; two great-nephews, Cary and Scott Pollock.
Funeral services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Howard Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sweet Home cemetery between Prescott and Blevins. Services were entrusted to the Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.

George Hicks
George Thomas Hicks "George" of Panama City died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001. at his residence.
Born in Prescott, he moved to Panama City more than 15 years ago from Arkansas. Hicks served in the United States Navy special forces as a Navy Seal retiring for health reasons. After retiring, he participated in many different enterprises. He had attended Central Baptist Church.
Hicks is preceded in death by his mother, Laura Edna Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Judith M. Hicks of Panama City, Fla.; four sons, Timothy H. and George R. Hicks of Panama City, Vincent E. Hicks of Arkansas, and Everitt K. Hicks of Germany; three daughters, Saleena L. and Christy L. Hicks of Panama City, and Angela M. Hicks of Alford, Fla.; brothers, Charles, Lonnnie Dean, Rufus, Dewey, and Glenn Hicks, all of Arkansas, sisters, Midge Hicks and Vernitta Rogers of Arkansas, and sister Beth Baker of Fla.
Services were held on Tuesday, December 18, 2001, at 9 a.m. in the Chapel of Southerland Family Funeral Home, 100 E. 19th St., Panama City with military honors being rendered.

J.B. Franks
J.B. Franks, 70, of Delight, died Tuesday, January 1, 2002, at a Little Rock hospital.
Franks was born June 19, 1931, at Roseboro, the son of the late William and Mae Dell Lamb Franks.
He attended the First Baptist Church in Delight. He was retired from Reynolds Metal Company.
Franks is survived by his wife, Dixie V. Franks of Delight; sons, Kenneth Williams of Foreman, and Rick Williams of Nashville; a daughter, Linda Johnson of Sherwood; sisters, Aileen Eastwood of Dundee, Illinois, Gearldean Harris of Prescott, and Annette Bateman of Hope; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a number of nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces.
Services were scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Delight, with Bro. Luther Lott officiating, burial in Delight cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
The family received friends at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, Thursday, January 3, from 6-9 p.m.

William Hulan
William F. "Willie" Hulan, 75, of Prescott, died Thursday, January 3, 2002, at Healthsouth Rehab Hospital in Texarkana.
He was born February 20, 1926, in Prescott to Alex and Mary T. McLain Hulan.
He was retired maintenance employee with the Arkansas Highway Department. He was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church and a Navy Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
His survivors include: his wife, (of 55 years) Julene Curtis Hulan of Prescott; one son, Thomas "Bill" Hulan and Linda of Gurdon; one daughter, Sandy Loe and Bud of Prescott; and three grandchildren, Shanna Loe of Prescott, Kim Hulan and Ashley Hulan both of Gurdon.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2002, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Rev. Neal Ridling, Rev. Lavern Stinson, and Rev. Larry Byers officiating. Burial followed in Liberty cemetery, in Redland Community in Prescott. Arrangements under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
Family received friends Friday, January 4, 2002, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mildred Glass
Mildred "Big Mama" Glass, 88, of Prescott, died Saturday, January 5, 2002, at her home.
Glass was born March 29, 1913, in Nevada County to William and Fannie Fore.
She was the last survivor of nine children. She was a charter member of Park Missionary Baptist Church in Prescott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lige Glass, her daughter, Maddlean Marlar, and her son, Coy Kenneth Glass, all of Prescott.
Cherishing her memory are: her daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Fred Jarvis of Camden; her daughter-in-law, Ann Glass of Prescott; her grandchildren, Ricky Marlar, Diane Marlar, and Phillip Marlar all of Prescott; Cindy Jarvis Drake of McGehee, Becky Jarvis Minor of Tool, Texas, Kim Glass of Little Rock, Colby Glass Dougan of Prescott, and Chad Glass of Murfreesboro; twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, January 7, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Park Missionary Baptist Church in Prescott with Bros. Britt Dupree, Raymond Hicks, and Jim Cross officiating. Interment followed at the Morris cemetery at Caney.
Visitation was January 5, 2002, at the funeral home.
The family has entrusted these services to the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott.

Esther Reese
Esther L. Reese, 91, of Prescott, died Friday, January 4, 2002, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
Reese was born July 18, 1910, to George and Cora Waddle Fielding. She was a housewife and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Reese in 1997.
Cherishing her memory are: her son, Dean Reese of Memphis, Tenn.; her daughters, Pauline Hawley of Hope and Sue Buie of Prescott; her two brothers, Wells Fielding of Royal, and Jack Fielding of Hope; her three sisters, Louise Stennitt of Texas, Bernice Reyenga of Shreveport, La., and Maurice Richard; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Sunday, January 6, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, with Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Interment was at Harmony cemetery in Sutton.
The family has entrusted these services to the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott.

Lenox Taylor
Lenox Dale Taylor, 64, of Prescott, died Sunday, January 6, 2002, at Christus St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, Texas, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Spearsville, LA, on August 8, 1937, he was the son of Aubrey and Selma Dison Taylor.
He was retired from International Paper Co. after 23 years employment. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Prescott.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Janice Taylor.
Survivors include: his wife, Pat Taylor of Prescott; two sons, Leland Taylor of Sarepta, La., and Lance Taylor of Taylor; four step-sons, Brian Marbury of Castle Rock, Co., Scott Marbury and Cory Marbury both of Prescott, and Greg Marbury of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Raymond Taylor of Taylor, and Randy Taylor of Springhill, La.; four sisters, Nell Pennington of Junction City, Carolene Armstrong of Rocky Branch, La., and Jerry Dancer of Texarkana and Fay Swieter of Shongaloo, La. and seven grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Spearsville, La. Officiating was Rev. Chad Brandon and Rev. Bobby White. Burial was in Pilgrims Rest cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
