Guy Daniel
Guy O. Daniel, 85, of Prescott died Saturday, January 13, 1996, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
Born November 12, 1910, in DeLeon, Texas, he was a self-employed logging contractor, a Primitiave Baptist and was preceded in death by a son, Hillard Daniell.
Survivors include his wife, Ohel Daniell of Prescott; three daughters, Lauvenia Hinson of Little Rock and Myra Peachey and Joyce Martin, both of Prescott; three sisters, Clara Mae Carter of Clarendon, Texas, Laoice `Ted' Carter of Sherman, Texas, and Mavis Loe of Lake of the Pines, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, January 15, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home chapel in Prescott with Rev. Raymond Hicks officiating. Burial was in Friendship cemetery in Morris under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home.

MARY NESBITT
Mary Nesbitt, 84, of Blevins died Friday, June 21, 1996, in Howard County Memorial Hospital in Nashville.
Born December 20, 1911, in Prescott, she was a retired hairdresser and a member of Bruce Memorial United Methodist Chruch in Blevins.
Survivors include her husband, N.P. Nesbitt of Blevins; one brother, Carl Brown of Nashville; and two nephews and a niece.
Serivces were held at Bruce Memorial United Methodist Church in Bevins with Rev. Paul Choate and Rev. Cornelia Delee officiating. Burial was in Marlbrook cemetery in Blevins under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope.

Elvin Taylor
Elvin Thomas Taylor, 76, of Lowell, formerly of Prescott, died Friday, January 12, 1996, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
Born November 28, 1919, in Texarkana, he was the son of Sylvester and Bertha Collins Taylor. He was a retired construction worker, a Pentecostal and an army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Louise William Taylor of the home; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, January 16, at the Fayetteville National cemetery with Rev. Jim Huffman officiating and under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale.

Jewell Fitzgerald
Jewell Fitzgerald, 83, of Stamps died Thursday, January 11, 1996, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
Born February 9, 1912, in Nevada County, she was a member of the Apostolic Faith United Pentecostal Church at Lewisville, a homemaker and a retired grocery cashier.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert Fitzgerald of Stamps; a son, Diamond Clay Farr Jr., of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, LaDonna Ann Fitzgerald of Stamps; three brothers, Bro. Garland Wesson of Phoenix, Ariz., Leonard Wesson of Prescott and Bro. Louie Wesson of North Little Rock; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Services were held Monday, January 15, at the Smith Funeral Home chapel in Stamps with Bro. James Roberts officiating and assisted by Bro. Roy McGee. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Charles William Smith
Charles William Smith, 72, of Magnolia died Tuesday, April 23, 1996, in the Magnolia hosptial.
Born May 13, 1923, in Nashville, he was the son of Charles William Smith and Della Tinsley Smith. He graduated from Nashville High School in 1942, and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He owned and operated the Recreation Center for 23 years. After nine years of employment, he retired in 1988 from the U.S. Post Office in Magnolia. He was a member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marlene J. Carlson Smith of Magnolia; two sons, Bobby Smith of Prescott and Bo Smith of Russellville; two daughters, Wendy Stinson of Shreveport, La., and Candy Adams of Magnolia; three sisters, Verniese McJunkins of Saratoga, Lillie Jo McJunkins of Saratoga and Frances Boyette of Nashville; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, April 25, at Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia with Seven Coley officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia. Pallbearers were Danny McJunkins, Tommy McJunkins, Johnny McJunkins, Joe McJunkins, Del Boyette and Rusty Young. Memorials may be made to Jackson Street Church of Christ in Magnolia or the American Cancer Society.

James C. Bazzelle
James C. Bazzelle, 81, of Inglewood, Calif., formerly of Rosston, died July 30, 1996.
Born August 24, 1914, he was the son of Jupiter T. and Emma J. Bazzelle, a member of Bethel AME Church in Rosston, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a former bus driver for Nevada County, and a retired civil service worker in California.
Survivors include two sons, James C. Bazzelle Jr. of Camden and Larry D. Bazzelle of Victorville, Calif.; two sisters, Minnie Bishop and Emma Harris of Gary, Ind.; a brother, Vernon Bazzelle of Inglewood; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, August 6, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Los Angeles, Calif., with Arthur Jupiter officiating.
Burial was in Inglewood Park cemetery in Inglewood, Calif., under the direction of Harrison-Ross Mortuaries of Los Angeles.

Ollie Mae Johnson
Ollie Mae Johnson, 74, of Lewsiville died Friday, April 19, 1996, in a Texarkana hospital.
She was born January 28, 1922, in Prescott and was the widow of Joe Johnson.
Survivors include four sons, Joe Johnson Jr. and Roger Johnson of Lewisville and Ottis Johnson and Charles Johnson; three sisters, Vollie Campbell and Helen Kelly of Prescott and Pauline Crouse of Texarkana.
Graveside services and burial were held Monday, April 22, at Wilson cemetery in Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Lewisville.

Murlean Purifoy
Murlean Purifoy, 64, of Bluff City died Sunday, April 21, 1996, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
Born July 15, 1931, in Nevada County, she was a homemaker and a member of St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City.
Survivors include her husband, R.J. Purifoy of Bluff City; four sons, Dale Purifoy and William Floyd Purifoy of Bluff City, Tommy Purifoy of Chidester and Daniel Lee Purifoy of Prescott; two brothers, Cullen Purifoy and McKinnon Purifoy of Bluff City; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, April 27, at St. John Baptist Church in Bluff City with Rev. Wallace Ingram officiating. Burial was in St. John cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

ROBERT MARTIN
Robert Jake Martin, 67, of Laneburg died Thursday, June 20, 1996, in Little Rock.
Born January 28, 1929, in Prescott he was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ella Martin of Laneburg; one son, Robert J. Martin Jr., of Sherwood; one sister, Frances Goff of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandsons; and one great granddaughter.
Services were held Saturday, June 22, at Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in Snell cemetery in Emmet under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home.

Joseph Tate McGill
Joseph Tate McGill, 72, of Little Rock, formerly of Prescott, died December 28, 1995 at Baptist Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born December 21, 1923, in Jonesboro, he was the son of the late J. Tate McGill and Lois Winters McGill. He attended schools in Prescott and was a 1941 graduate of Prescott High School. He was a University of Arkansas engineering graduate and a gradaute of the School of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, Mo. He retired in 1983 from Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company and served as Mayor of Prescott. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. At the time of his death he was living in Little Rock.
McGill's father was coach of the Prescott football team in 1922. The team traveled to Little Rock and played the Tigers with only 11 players on the roster. The Prescott team won the very competitive game and that is when the team was originally given the name, McGill's Curley Wolves, which was later changed to Prescott Curley Wolves.
He is survived by his wife, Rene McGill of Little Rock; a son, David McGill of Texarkana; a stepson, Richard Mueller of Little Rock; a brother, James McGill of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a sister, Josephine Nichols of Atlanta, Ga.
A memorial service was held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home chapel in Little Rock. Burial was in Little Rock National cemetery under the direction of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home of Little Rock.

Louis Henderson
Louis C. `Teke' Henderson, 70, of Rosston died Thursday, January 11, 1996, in Magnolia Hospital.
Born May 4, 1926, in St. Joe, he was the son of Clarence Edgar and Alvie Lucinda Parks Henderson. He was a retired electrician for Amfuel, a World War II veteran and the widower of Marian Ann Henderson. He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Waldo.
Survivors include two daughters, Tamela A. Travis of Willisville and Pamela A. Owenby of Fairview, N.C.; two sisters; one brother, three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, January 13, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia. Burial was in Willsiville cemetery under the direction of Lewis Fuernal Home.

Elmer Walters
Elmer Augusta Walters, 81, of Pine Bluff, formerly of Prescott, died Tuesday, May 9, 1996, in Pine Bluff.
He was a navy veteran and was the manager of Kroger in Dumas and Camden and was retired from Singer Machine Company after more than 20 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, the Kiwanis, the Masonic Lodge and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Walters of Pine Bluff; two sons, Elmer Walters Jr. and David Walters; three sisters, Elsie McKissack of Nashville and Mary Jane Miller and Pauline Pearson of Prescott; two grandsons; and one great grandson.
Services were held Thursday, May 11, at Robinson and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery in Pine Bluff under the direction of Robinson and Sons Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Vester O. Mason
Vester O. Mason, 68, of Bodcaw, died Sunday, May 12, 1996, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church, a retired truck driver and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Perna Taylor Mason of Bodcaw; three sons, Arval R. Mason and Tim Mason, both of Bodcaw and Wayne Mason of Little Rock; a daughter, Susan Teague of Camden; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, May 14, at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Mac Russell and Rev. Ray Bowman officiating. Burial was in Union cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
