Jessie B. Keesee
Jessie B. Keesee, 93, of Odessa, Texas, formerly of Prescott, died Sunday, February 25, 1996, in Odessa.
Born October 27, 1902, in Ogemaw, she was a bookkeeper and salesperson and the widow of Lofton Keesee.
Private graveside services were held Tuesday, February 27, in DeAnn cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Winnie Belle Loe
Winnie Belle Loe, 89, of Prescott died Saturday, February 24, 1996.
Born February 3, 1907, in Pike County, she was the daughter of John J. and Clara Watkins Delaney. She was owner of a farm and country grocery store for 36 years and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hix Loe.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Hursel `Bob' Loe of Arlington, Texas, Willie Carrol `Bill' Loe of Hope and John D. Loe of DeKalb, Texas; a daughter, Janelle Wright of Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Travis W. Delaney of Mesquite, Texas; two sisters, Myrtice Spears of Bellflower, Calif., and Vahnita Wilson of Magnolia; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, February 25, at the Hope Church of Christ with John Cannon and Harley Sisson officiating. Burial was in Sweet Home cemetery in Hempstead County under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope.

Franklin Ramsey
Franklin Ramsey, 86, of Hope died Thursday, February 15, 1996, at his home.
Born November 10, 1909, in Zepher, Texas, he was a Baptist and he was superintendent of the Hope Water and Sewer Department.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Bullard Ramsey of Hope; a daughter, Helen Ruth Samuels of Hope; two grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were held Friday, February 23, at Memory Gardens cemetery in Hope with Bro. Earl Cumbie officiating. Burial was under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope.

Marcelle Koehler
Marcella Koehler, 74, of St. Charles, Mo., died Saturday, February 17, 1996, in DePaul's Hospital in St. Charles after a lengthy illness.
Born February 11, 1922, in Mt. Moriah, she was the daughter of the late Augusta G. and Martha Fuller Ingram of Nevada County. She was the widow of the late R.J. Koehler and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviovrs include a son, Ronald J. Koehler of St. Charles, and two sisters, Marie Chamberlain of Prescott and LaVada White of Maumelle.
Services were held Tuesday, February 20. Burial was in Memory Gardens.

SELMA `SUE' BAILEY
Selma `Sue' Martin Bailey, 65, of Magnolia, formerly of Nevada County, died Friday, March 1, 1996, in Magnolia Hospital following an extended illness.
Survivors include her husband, Welton Bailey of Magnolia; a son, Alan Bailey of Rockwall, Texas; two daughters, Connie Hendrixson and Regina Watkins of Little Rock; two sisters, Elsie Young of Texarkana and Faye Wingfield of Conway; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Sat., Mar. 2, at First United Methdist Church in Magnolia with Rev. Biff Averitt and Rev. Charles Murry of Pine Bluff officiating. Burial was in Willisville cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Magnolia.

LULA WHITE HITT
Lula White Hitt, 98, of North Little Rock died Monday, February 26, 1996, in Little Rock.
Born in Prescott in 1898, she was the daughter of the late Sam T. and Lula Tamplin White. She attended Galloway College at Searcy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. Hitt and a daughter Martha Margaret Hitt.
Survivors include a daughter, Lula Jane Schriver of Lompoc, Calif., and three sons, Sam William Hitt of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Richard T. Hitt and Thomas C. Hitt of North Little Rock; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Friday, March 1, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel in North Little Rock. Burial was in DeAnn cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills.

FREDA ELMA LAMBERT
Freda Elma Lambert, 78, of Alma, formerly of Prescott, died Friday, March 1, 1996, in Sparks Reginal Hospital in Fort Smith.
Born March 10, 1917, in Smackover, she was the daughter of the late Caleb and Willie Ross. She was a retired nurse of Hillcrest Care Center and a member of New Hope Community Church in Prescott.
Survivors include her husband, M.L. `Bill' Lambert of Alma; a son, Charles Lambert of Alma; a stepson, Emmet Lambert of Holly Bluff, Miss.; a daughter, Pam Greer of Hensley; a stepdaughter, Mary French of Hensley; two sisters, Vera Sparks of Sidney, Neb., and Juanita Conner of Kilgore, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services were held Sun., Mar. 3, at New Hope Community Church with Bro. Mike Franklin and Bro. Shawn Shelton officiating. Burial was in Bluff City cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

MAHALA D. SMITH
Mahala D. Smith, 87, of Little Rock, formerly of Nevada County, died Tues., Feb. 27, 1996, in St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock.
Survivors include a daughter, Nonnie L. Moss McKinney; a son, L.T. McQuay of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Alice Tucker and Cybil Docary, both of Falcon; a son, L.T. McQuay of Seattle, Wash.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Services were held at Clevet Springs Baptist Church on Sat., March 2. Burial was in Clevet cemetery.

WILLIAM B. GOURLEY
William Bruce Gourley, 37, of Prescott died Feb. 16, 1996, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.
Born October 2, 1958, in Prescott, he was a Presbyterian.
Survivors include his father, William Earl `Bud' Gourley of Prescott; his mother, Virginia Ann Gourley of Prescott; two brothers, Jack Allen Gourley of Holdenville, Okla., and Hansford Wayne Gourley of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and a sister, Judy Ann Ledbetter of Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
Services were held Feb. 18 at the Shackelford Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Wayne Langston officiating. Burial was in Marlbrook cemetery near Blevins under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.

LESTER L. MCLELLAND
Lester L. McLelland, 84, of Dundee, Ill., died Thurs., Feb. 29, 1996, in Dundee.
Born Fri., Mar. 31, 1911, in Nevada County, he was a construction worker and a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Lester C. McLelland of Mapleton, Ga.; three daughters, Pat McCorkle of east Dundee, Ill., Peggy Pringle of Carpentersville, Ill., and Wilma Louise Sschnell of Bartlett, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Services were held Sunday in Herndon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Nubbin Hill cemetery near Prescott.

David Cobb
David Cobb, 47, of Prescott, died Saturday, October 1, 2005, in his home.
He was a member of the Missionary Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Cobb of Prescott; his mother, Nell Cobb of Hope; four brothers, Bobby Duane Cobb of Hope, Douglas Cobb of Lower Lake, Calif., Miles Helmick of Emmet, and Kevin Cobb of Hope; two sisters, Cathy Cobb and Kim Cobb both of Texarkana, Texas; nieces and nephews, Dustin Helmick, Miles Helmick, Jr., Josh Helmick, Aaron Helmick, Sheyann Helmick, Hannah Helmick, Jeremy Cobb and Bobby Cobb; great nieces, Haley Tucker and Anna Marie Cobb; great nephews, Allyn Cobb and Ashyton Cobb; two brothers-in-law, Paul Boyd and George Cornelius; and special friend, Julie Gregory.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at the Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott officiated by Rev. Jerry Westmoreland and Neil Ridling. Burial was in the Missionary Grove cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.

CARRIE CLAYTON
Carrie Haywood Clayton, 84, of Magnolia, died Sat., Feb. 24, 1996, in St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
Born October 11, 1911, in Eudora, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Johnnie V. Haywood and Willette Cason Haywood. She was a member of St. Phillip AME Church. She was a former teacher at Oak Grove School.
Survivors include her husband, Rucker E. Clayton of Magnolia, and a brother, Robert Haywood of Detoit, Mich.
Services were held Sat., Mar. 2, at St. Phillips AME Church in Magnolia with Rev. Ezell Branch Jr. officiating. Burial was in Twenty- Third Psalms cemetery in Magnolia under the direction of Henderson's Mortuary in Magnolila.

Tannie Plyler
Tainnie Plyler, of Gurdon, died Nov. 4, 2005, at Baptist Hospital in Arkadelphia.
Mrs. Plyler was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Plyler.
She was a member of Beech Street Baptist Church, Gurdon.
Survivors include: two sons, Larry Plyler and wife Sarah, of Guatemala City, Guatemala, and Gary Plyler and wife Wendy of Gurdon; five grandsons, Michael and wife Sharon, Mark and wife Mandy, all of Hot Springs, Mitch and wife Lynsey, Joe and Jake of Gurdon; one granddaughter, Jill Plyler of Gurdon; three great-grandsons, Lawson, Cole and Peyton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at Beech Street Church, Gurdon, with the Rev. James Guthrie and the Rev. Rick Pyron officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.
Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
