Viola Linblad
Viola Bailey Lindblad, 91, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Prescott, died Tuesday, September 3, 1996, in Roanoke.
She was born July 15, 1905.
Survivors include two nephews, Ora A. Whitney and Jack Bailey; one niece, Rena Brown; and several great and great great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were held Monday, September 9, at DeAnn cemetery in Prescott with Rev. Janet Ruark officiating and under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Dillard C. Sarrett
Dillard C. Sarrett, 88, of Celina, Texas, formerly of Rosston, died Thursday, September 5, 1996, in Columbia Medical Center in McKinney, Texas.
Born July 11, 1908, in Rosston, he was the son of Samuel and Mollie Barksdale Sarrett, a Church of Christ minister for over 43 years, and a member of the Church of Christ. He was the widower of Lois Nelson Sarrett.
Survivors include a son, Ronald D. Sarrett of Celinia, Texas; two brothers, Sam Sarrett of Texarkana aned Dale Sarrett of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Illa Caples of Little Rock; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, September 7, at Westside Church of Christ in McKinney, Texas, with Bro. Tom Gaumer and Bro. Allen Jenkins officiating. Graveside services and burial were conducted Sunday, September 8, at Bluff City cemetery in Bluff City with Bro. Ordis Copeland officiating under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors in McKinney, Texas.

Lola Ross
Lola Jones Ross, 95, of Fayetteville, formerly of Emmet, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Fayetteville City Hospital.
She was born November 9, 1909, in Nevada County, the daughter of Burton and Blanch Norton Jones.
She was retired from the Emmet Mercantile in Emmet. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Emmet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Ross in 1979, and a brother, John Paul Jones, and a sister, Merle Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Rogers and husband, Jimmie of Fayetteville; one brother, Wayne Jones of El Cajon, Calif. and Helen Easterling of Trinity, Tex.; three grandchildren, Barry Rogers and wife, Jill of Stuttgart, Renee Vick and husband, Rodney of Springdale, and Robin Pendley and husband, Pete, of Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Garret Rogers and Megan Pendley.
Services were at a later date at Snell cemetery in Emmet under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
Memorials may be made to: Emmet United Methodist Church, Rt. 1 Box 33, Emmet, Ark. 71835 or Washington Regional Medical Center Hospice, 34 West Colt Square, Suite 1, Fayetteville, Ark. 72703.
Cremation by Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.

Howard A. Bullock
Howard A. Bullock, 86, of Prescott died Wednesday, September 4, 1996, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock.
Born December 8, 1909, in Nevada County, he was a retired security guard, a World War II veteran and was the widower of Cornelia Bullock.
Survivors include three sons, Jim Bullock of Athens, Texas, Leslie Bullock of Prescott and John Bullock of Cleveland, Texas; three daughters, Charlotte Benny of Hatch, N.M., Glenda Mitchell of North Hollywood, Calif., and Susie Stewart of Little Rock; two sisters, Alta Bennett of Sutton and Martha Manning of Prescott; 13 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, September 8, at Harmony United Methodist Church in Sutton with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in Harmony cemetery in Sutton under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

William H. Wicker
William H. `Willie' Wicker, 84, of Blevins died Wednesday, September 11, 1996, in Hope.
Born July 27, 1912, in Prescott, he was a retired homebuilder and cattleman, a member of Bells Chapel Church of the Nazarene and was former mayor of Blevins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wicker.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Wicker of Blevins and James Wicker of Weatherford, Texas; two daughters, Pat Persick of Baton Rouge, La., and Mary Lynn Peters of Rogers; a brother, Douglas Wicker of Texarkana; a sister, Ethel Ellis of Prescott; 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchidlren.
Services were held Saturday, September 14, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home in Hope with Rev. John Russ and Rev. Wally Beckman officiating. Burial was in Marlbrook cemetery near Blevins under the direction of East Funeral Home of Texarkana.

Harold Sisson
Harold Sisson, 66, of Hope died Wednesday, September 11, 1996, at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
Born July 9, 1930, in Nevada County, he was a retired auto parts salesman with J.B. Cook Co. in Hope for 43 years. He was a deacon and Sunday school superintendent of Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church, coached Doctor Little League baseball team, was scoutmaster for Troop 92 for 20 years where he received the silver Beaver award, the highest award given to an adult scoutleader. He was a member of Hope Band Boosters Club, Hope Lions Club and Woodmen of the World. He was an army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Sisson of Hope; two sons, Larry Don Sisson of Hope and Ricky Sisson of Fort Smith; his mother, Hattie Sisson of Hope; three brothers, Harley, Charles and Gerald Sisson, all of Hope; and one grandson.
Services were held Saturday, September 14, at Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Grant and Rev. Coy Zumwalt officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah cemetery near Rosston under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope.

Norvelle Wren
Norvelle Wren, 94, of Prescott died Saturday, September 14, 1996, in Prescott.
Born August 23, 1902, in Sutton, she was the daughter of Sam Scott and Pearl Hudson Wren. In 1939 she began working for Prescott Federal Savings and Loan Association (the predecessor to Southwest Federal Savings and Loan) and continued with them in various capacities for 40 years and served on their board of directors for 36 years. On her retirement in 1979, she was commended by the board of directors for her steadfast service and was elected secretary emeritus of Southwest Federal Savings and Loan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Prescott.
Survivors include two nieces, Jennie Wren Johnson of Charleston, S.C., and Bette Carole Reglin of Plano, Texas; and two grand nieces and two grand nephews.
Services were held Monday at First United Methodist Church in Prescott with Revs. Dale Diffee and Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in DeAnn cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Eunice Arnold
Eunice Ophelia Arnold, 95, of Hope died Saturday, September 14, 1996, in Pinehope Nursing Home in Hope.
Born May 9, 1901, in Nevada County, she was a hospital ward clerk and a homemaker. She was a member of Marlbrook Baptist Church in Blevins.
Survivors include two stepsons, William R. Arnold of Texarkana, Ark., and Clyde J. Arnold of Memphis, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Sylvia Hubbard of Wake Village, Texas, and Jean Cox of Waco, Texas; 10 step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were held Monday, September 16, in Marlbrook cemetery in Blevins with Rev. Gerald Hill officiating under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Janice Anderson
Janice Anderson, 57, of Hope died Friday, September 13, 1996, at her home.
Born June 25, 1939, in Leon County, Texas, she was a homemaker and owner of Anderson Construction of Hope. She was a baptist and was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Sutton; two brothers, Bo and Kenneth Shuffler; and her father, Jack Shuffler.
Survivors include her husband, John Anderson; two sons, John Anderson Jr. of Baytown, Texas, and Mickey Stout of Hope; three daughters, Jennifer Walton, Kelly Stephens and Pam Stout, all of Hope; her mother, Elsie Shuffler of Houston, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Schelin of Baton Rouge, La; and nine grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were Sunday, September 15, in Memory Gardens in Hope with Rev. John Mangum officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope.

Marie Beirne
Marie Bryson Beirne, 84, of Benton, formerly of Bakersfield, Calif., and Prescott died Sunday, September 15, 1996.
Born March 28, 1912, in Prescott, she was the daughter of Jim W. and Minnie Bean Bryson. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Tom T. Beirne of Benton; three sons, Terrell H. Beirne of Benton, James T. Beirne of Bakersfield, Calif., and William C. Beirne of Tehachapica, Calif.; a daughter, Cynthia V. Todd of Bakersfield; a brother, Douglas Bryson of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Easter Griffin of Prescott, Ida Eaves of Texarkana and Johnne Harvard of Shreveport, La.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Leodis Jackson
Leodis `Pete' Jackson of Riverside, Calif., formerly of Rosston, died Monday, September 2, 1996.
Born in Rosston, he was the son of Will and Mary Jackson. He attended the Nevada County Training School. He was preceded in death by his wife, Veda Royston Jackson, in 1989. He worked for both Alcoa and Douglas Aircraft companies and later he was self-employed. He later married Marion Goodman.
Survivors include his wife, Marion; a daughter, Maple Cornwell; three sisters, Viola Blakely, Roxie Tidell and Rosie Haynie; three grandsons; and a host of other relatives.
Services were held Saturday, September 7, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Riverside, Calif., with Pastor Willie Chambers officiating. Burial was in Perris Valley cemetery in Perris, Calif., under the direction of Boyd Funeral Home of Los Angeles.

Sue Hayes
Miss Sue Ellen Hayes, 32, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Hope, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at her home.
She was born on October 25, 1972, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to James Archie and Mattie Hall Hayes. She was an employee at Sonic.
Her survivors include: her two sons, Robert Allen Hayes of Rosston and Johnathan T. Hayes of Tyler, Texas; one daughter, Jessica Ann Hayes of Rosston; her parents, James Archie and Mattie Hayes of Rosston; three brothers, William Steven Hall of Hope, James Archie Hayes, Jr. and John Ross Hayes and Cheryl, all of Rosston; a special friend, Lossie Wade of Tyler, Texas; one niece and one nephew.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2005, at Bodcaw #1 cemetery in Bodcaw, with Rev. Jerry Crane and Rev. Waylon Schobey officiating. Burial followed. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
Family received friends Thursday, July 21, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
