Beatrice B. Hargis, 82, of Nashville, died Wednesay, December 17, 2003, at a Little Rock hospital.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 19, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Phil Brown officiating, burial in Ozan cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Mrs. Hargis was born August 20, 1921, in Nashville, AR, the daughter of the late Lipton and Daisy Scott Brown.

She was a grocery clerk; a member of First Baptist Church, Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Hargis.

She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Nichoalds and husband, David, of Lonoke, AR and Peggy Weatherford of Nashville, AR; sister, Maxine Rose of Little Rock, AR; and a special niece, Pam Wilson of Little Rock, AR.

The family will receive friends at Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville, Thursday, December 18, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Noble R. Lewis
December 15th, 2003
Noble R. Lewis, 89, of Marshall, Texas, formerly of Nashville, died Monday, December 15, 2003.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 18, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Mr. Lewis was born June 7, 1914, in Bingen, Arkansas, the son of the late Worthy and Susie Hyatt Lewis.

He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a Mason.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald W. Lewis and sisters, Ruby Barton, Jewell Lewis and Opal Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche A. Lewis of Marshall, TX; a son, Malcolm Lewis of Sugarland, TX; sisters, Irene Harper of Nashville, AR and Pearl Kinsey of Escalon, CA; grandchildren, Darren Lewis of Ft. Worth, TX, Kyle Lewis of El Campo, TX, Sheila Clark of Marshall, TX, Sherry Evans of Marshall, TX, Susie Minatrea of Karnak, TX and Angie Morris of Harleton, TX and seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Joseph Dibas, Jr.
December 15th, 2003
Joseph Dibas, Jr., 67, of Nashville, died Monday, December 15, 2003, at a Nashville hospital.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 20, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Phil Brown officiating, burial in Oddfellow cemetery, Lockesburg, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashivlle.

Mr. Dibas was born February 20, 1936, in Pennsylvania.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Moose Lodge, American Legion and V.F.W.

He was a P.O.W. and received a Purple Heart and Medal of Valor.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Dibas of Nashville, AR; sons, Garry Nichols and wife, Beverly, of Lockesburg, AR and Jim Vickers of Nashville, AR; daughters, Dana Morphew and husband, Brent, of Nashville, AR, Michelle Tolleson and husband, Dennis, of Arlington, TX, Sharon Kramer of San Antonio, TX and Glenda Gathings and husband, Robert, of Joshua, TX; brother, John Dibas of Colorado; sister, Carole Park of Pittsburg, PA; seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Latimer Funeral Home, Friday, December 19, from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.

William "Jack" Sharp
December 14th, 2003
William 'Jack' Sharp, 69, of Dierks, died Sunday, December 14, 2003, at a Texarkana hospital.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 17, at Mt. Zion Church, Athens, with Frank Harner officiating, burial in Athens cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Mr. Sharp was born December 23, 1933, in Athens, Arkansas, the son of the late Oscar and Gracie Exie Plake Sharp.

He was a farmer; a member of Bissell Chapel Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dolly Mae Harner.

Mr. Sharp is survived by nephews, LaDale Hill of Fayetteville, AR, Joe Harner of Athens, AR, Charles Harner of Athens, AR and Richard Harner of New Hope, AR; nieces, Marie Harner of Athens, AR, Virginia Rider of Athens, AR and Jeanie Allison of Umpire, AR; and a great number of nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends at Latimer Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 16, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Virginia Rockholt Lockwood
December 8th, 2003
Virginia Rockholt Lockwood departed this life at her home in Murfreesboro, AR, December 8, 2003, peacefully, in her sleep.

Virginia was born on October 4, 1930 in Miller County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Bessie Lee Levi Rockholt.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

She retired in September, 2003, from the Crater of Diamonds State Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward Lockwood.

She is survived by a son, Robert (Andy) Lockwood of Murfreesboro, a daughter, Jennifer Robbins, of King, North Carolina, a step-son, Ronnie Lockwood, of Penn Valley, California, and two sisters, Marilyn Rockholt Smith of Jacksonville, Florida, and Robbie Rockholt of Texarkana, AR.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Meghan, Tyler and Daniel and numerous friends and relatives.

She was much loved and will be sorely missed.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 11, at First Christian Church in Murfreesboro.

Burial will be in Murfreesboro cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.

The family will receive friends at Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, Wednesday, December 10, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Arkansas Dept. of Health Hospice of Pike County.

Maudie Bagwell
December 7th, 2003
Maudie May Bagwell, age 68, of Murfreesboro, the Boto Community, died Sunday December 7, 2003, in Hot Springs.

She was born October 16, 1935 in Delight, AR, the daughter of the late Everett and Clara Hewitt Lamb.

Mrs. Bagwell was a homemaker and member of the Billstown Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers Curtis Lamb, Jack Lamb, Billy Lamb and Jesse Lamb.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years J. C. Bagwell of Boto; 4 sons and daughters-in-law Johnny and Donna Bagwell of Antoine, Jimmy Bagwell of Boto, Jerry Bagwell of Jacksonville, Jeffery and Cathy Bagwell of Rowlett, TX; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Murfreesboro with burial in Hickory Grove cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 P. M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jo Gladys Hancock
November 27th, 2003
Jo Gladys Hancock, age 84, of Nashville, died Thursday November 27, 2003 in Nashville.

She was born October 27, 1919 in Bowen, Arkansas, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Eather Omer Barker Clark.

Mrs. Hancock served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps, she was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ, Hillcrest EHC and had served as a national officer of the Women of Construction Association.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years Noah Hancock of Nashville; 1 brother Floyd Clark, Sr. of Nashville and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday November 29, 2003 at Latimer Funeral Home with Burial in Delight cemetery.

Marguerite Terrell
November 26th, 2003
Marguerite Terrell, age 86, of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday November 26, 2003.

She was born May 4, 1917 in Southerland Springs, TX, the daughter of the late Cleburne and Pearl Lintz Chaney.

Mrs. Terrell was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Henry Terrell.

Survivors include 3 daughters Shirley Cassady of Van Buren, AR, Glenda Ashley of North Little Rock, AR, Anne Easley of Columbus, MS; 2 sisters Charlie Mae Jackson of North Little Rock, AR, Dorothy Dillard of Wake Village, TX; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday November 30, 2003 at the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro with burial in Murfreesboro cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.

Millard Buel Hawkins

Millard Buel Hawkins, 81, of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, November 25, 2003, at a Little Rock hospital.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 28, at First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, with Bro. Lee Walker officiating, burial in Murfreesboro cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.

Mr. Hawkins was born September 28, 1922, at Tokio, Arkansas, the son of the late Millard and Florence Cooley Hawkins.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, AR, where he served as a deacon.

He was a businessman and owner of Hawkins Variety Store for 56 years.

He was an Air Force veteran of WWII.

Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Sarah Hawkins of Murfreesboro, AR; daughters, Susan Davis of Murfreesboro, AR, Beckal Hawkins of Murfreesboro, AR and Leah Hainen and husband, Rob, of Nashville, AR; grandchildren, Scott and Matt Davis of Murfreesboro, AR, Marc and Kyle Jackson of Murfreesboro, AR and Ryan and Randy Hainen of Nashville, AR; great-grandchildren, Torri, Hannah and Erin Davis.

Memorials may be made to Murfreesboro First Baptist Church Building or your favorite charity.

The family will receive friends at Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, Thursday, November 27, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Opal Turner
November 24th, 2003
Opal Turner, 83, of Dierks, died Monday, November 24, 2003, at her home.

Services are 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 28, 2003 at Holly Creek Baptist Church, Dierks, with burial in Harmony cemetery. Bros. Bill Driggers, Larry Allbritton and Jimmy Jester will officiate.

Mrs. Turner was born May 13, 1920, in North Howard County, the daughter of the late Jordan and Emma Henry Martin.

She was a retired nurse’s aide at Beverly Health Care; a member of Holly Creek Baptist Church.

She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and she went home to be with her Lord.

Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by four brothers, Perry, Fletcher, Roy, and Virgil Martin; two sisters Rilla Marie Jester and Lorene Priddy and two infant sisters, Gracie and Baby Martin.

Survivors include her husband Elton Odell Turner of Dierks, AR; three sons Joe Turner of Dierks, AR, Don Turner of De Queen, AR and Glen Turner of Fort Smith, AR; one daughter, Sue Ann Fulcher of Fayetteville, AR; one sister Era Parker of Dierks, AR; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Memorials may be made to Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, Dierks, AR.
