Freddie Lee Eads Jr.
(August 12, 1957 - June 10, 2012)

Sunday, June 10, 2012 God took Freddie L. Eads Jr. age 54 of Bismarck and guided him home following the death of his parents, Freddie L. Eads Sr. and Ina J. Eads.

Survivors are brothers, Earl Eads and Dale (Kim) Eads both of Bismarck, sisters, Gloria Wilson and Patty (Kirk) McClenahan both of Bismarck and Gale (Henry) Ross of Prescott.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, June 12th in the Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jim Agee officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Evelyn M. Porter
(August 29, 1930 - July 30, 2015)

Evelyn Presley Porter age 84 of Sparkman died Thursday, July 30, 2015. She was born August 29, 1930 the daughter of the late James Wesley and Eva Ward Presley. She was a retired administrator of the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission and a member of 1st Baptist Church of Sparkman. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold W. Porter.

Survivors include two sons, Ken Black of Sparkman and James A. Black of Little Rock, one daughter, Brynda McCullough of Sparkman, one brother, Thomas Presley of Dallas, one sister, Marie Caddy of Bismarck, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, August 2nd in the First Baptist Church of Sparkman with Rev. Wade Totty and Rev. James Guthrie officiating . Burial will be in the Atchley cemetery near Dalark. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Memorials may be made to the Sparkman Food Pantry.

John Tony Cagle
(September 9, 1943 - June 21, 2012)

U.S. Veteran
John Tony Cagle age 68 of Arkadelphia died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his home. He was born September 9, 1943 in Malvern, Arkansas the son of the late Otis Cagle and Alma Todd Cash. Tony was a car salesman in the Arkadelphia area for many years, a Army veteran and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. After retiring, he and his wife, Sherry enjoyed raising and competing with Jack Russell terriers.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Thomas Cagle; two children, James Miller and Laurie More; three grandchildren, Hannah More, Savannah Beard-Miller and Zachary Miller and his mother-in-law, Jessamine Thomas Bishop all of Arkadelphia.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, June 25th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Ray Franklin officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Frances Farrar Shepherd
(February 22, 1932 - March 1, 2012)

Frances Farrar Shepherd age 80 of Arkadelphia died Thursday, March 1, 2012. She was born February 22, 1932 the daughter of Wade and Dorothy Jolly Farrar. She attended Henderson State University and was a member of the Arkadelphia Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harold E. Shepherd.

Survivors include on daughter, Terri Evans of Fayetteville, AR, one son Ron Shepherd and his wife Lisa of Decatur, AL, grandchildren, Ashley Plyler, Amanda Shepherd, Cody Evans, and Blake Shepherd, one great grandchild, Kennedy Plyler.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Saturday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Jim Buie officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Lola Marie Cox
(September 25, 1952 - March 20, 2012)

Lola Marie Cox age 59 died Tuesday, March 20, 2012. She was born September 25, 1952 in Ouachita County the daughter of A. B. and Maxine Davis Cox.

Survivors include two daughters, Jinger Martin of Arkadelphia, Lois Schilling of Putmanville, IN, three sisters, Avis Wilson of Arkadelphia, Debbie Hightower and Patsy Hill both of Prescott.

A memorial service will be 2 PM Saturday, March 24th at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Jerry Hightower officiating. There will be no formal visitation.

Mary Lou Brown
(August 16, 1942 - February 19, 2015)

Mary Lou Brown of Arkadelphia, departed us on February 19, 2015 at the age of 72. She was born August 16, 1942 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to James G. Irwin and Helen Irene Sanders Irwin. She grew up in Wetumka, Oklahoma and graduated from Wetumka High School. She also attended Shawnee Oklahoma School of Cosmetology, received her license and went on to attend Seminole State College, graduated and became a registered nurse. She retired from nursing from Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center for the State of Arkansas where she worked with wonderful caring people who became her friends. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Arkadelphia, AR.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy H. Brown; her father, James G. Irwin; mother, Helen Irene Dunn; step-father, Ernest Dunn; son, Gregory Todd Lindsey; brother, Jack R. Irwin; and nephew Matt Tyler of Wetumka, OK.

She is survived by four sons; Jeffrey Kent Lindsey (Stacy) Weleeka, OK, Jonathan Craig Lindsey (Dana), Thomas Eric Lindsey (Roche) all of Tulsa, OK, and Jimmy H. Brown (Debbie) Arkadelphia, AR; daughter, Brandi R. Brown-Hudson (Mike) of Arkadelphia, AR; sister, Linda Sue Tyler (Howard) Wetumka, OK; nephew, Jason Tyler of Wetumka, OK; 15 grandchildren, Peyton R. Fleenor, Presley T. Hudson, Tyler R. Brown all of Arkadelphia, AR, Cody M. Godwin of Hot Springs, AR, Leland P. Lindsey, Zackery T. Lindsey of Wetumka, OK, Caleb Lindsey, Aimee Lindsey of Chickasaw, OK, Jeffrey K. Lindsey, Mary A. Lindsey of Weleetka, OK, Jeramy R. Lindsey, Joshua L. Lindsey of Windom, MN, Jared L. Lindsey of Tulsa, OK, Lacy Lindsey of Ada, OK, Bailey Lindsey of Wetumka, OK; and 12 great grandchildren; a cousin, Anita Currie of Nacoma, TX; and special friends, Lola Vanderpool of Pensacola, FL, Helen Shaw of Wetumka, OK, and Sharon Dilday of Holdenville, OK.

Visitation will be 3-7 PM Sunday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, February 23rd at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Andrew Sherrill and Roger Genung officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are sons and grandsons.

Ruth Partridge
(January 6, 1927 - April 22, 2012)

Edna Ruth Holcomb Partridge went on to be with her Lord and Savior on April, 22, 2012. She was born January 6, 1927, in the Fendley Community to the late J.R. and Cora Kirksey Holcomb. She married the love of her life, Leo Partridge, who preceded her in death on April 1, 1992.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and making quilts for her family. She especially enjoyed making baby quilts for the new generations of grandchildren.....even recently. She also enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds as recent as a couple of weeks ago. She learned birdwatching from Leo and still enjoyed watching birds, especially the blue birds that built in her back yard every spring.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lou Ann Partridge Stricklin. grandson. Tyler Stricklin, granddaughter, Tanya Stricklin, sisters, Verlon Holcomb Floyd., Fern Holcomb Ainsworth, brothers, Vernon Holcomb, Charles Holcomb, Lendol Holcomb, and Gerald Holcomb.

She is survived by her daughters, Gay Partridge Neel (Mac), Becky Partridge Reeves ( Sonny), of Arkadelphia, and Amanda Partridge Lee of New Boston, TX. Her Grandchildren are Darla Neel Givens, Teena Neel Bebee, Marty Neel, Andy Stricklin (Mandy), of Arkadelphia, Seth Reeves, of Reston, VA., Zach Reeves of Little Rock, Cole Reeves (Marla) of Cave Springs, Suzette Reeves of Hot Springs, Heath Lee of Texarkana, TX, Aimee and Hunter Lee of New Boston. TX. ...Great Grandchildren are Shelby, Kurtlyn, and Drake Givens, Brayden, Sadee, and Josee Bebee, Chloie Neel and Carlie Plyler of Arkadelphia, Brooks Looney of Fayetteville, and Taylor Golden of Hot Springs, and Great-Grandchildren Cash & Whitley Stricklin of Arkadelphia.

Surviving sisters are Evelyn Allen, Bismarck, Naomi LaVonne Carson (Cliff) of Hampton, brothers are Wayne Holcomb (Patricia) of Arkadelphia, Gene Holcomb ( Linda) Pearcy, Larry Holcomb (Carolyn) of Hot Springs, sisters-in-laws Mary Holcomb of Arkadelphia, Gloria Holcomb of Amity, Maurice Partridge Shepherd, of Arkadelphia, and son-in-law, Fred Stricklin of Arkadelphia. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Nephew Jeff Ainsworth and Greg Lathem officiating. Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Oak Grove cemetery, Brushy Creek cemetery, near Fendley, Sweet Home cemetery near Amity, or any charity of your choice.

Margie Bray Childers
(October 12, 1927 - February 26, 2012)

Margie Bray Childers age 84 of Donaldson, AR died Sunday, February 26, 2012. She was born October 12, 1927 in Caraway, AR the daughter of Ely Wiley and Ola Mae Phoenix Bray. She was a member of the World Wide Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Glen "Red" Childers, a son, David Childers, and a granddaughter, Christy Deaton.

Survivors include four sons, Larry Childers of Bismarck, Gary (Donna) Childers of Arkadelphia, Steve and Jeff Childers both of Donaldson, two daughters, Brenda (Junior) Morrison of Friendship, Tricia (Kevin) Maynard of Donaldson and one sister, Sue (Paul) Crow of Midway, nine grandchildren, Dee Vinson, Charla Langley, Larry G. Childers, Stacy, Jeremy, Jody and Cory Morrison, Eli and Matthew Maynard and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia with burial in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery near Friendship. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant cemetery Fund C/O Paul Crow, 301 Nix Lp, Donaldson, AR 71941.

Jamie Lynn Loy
(March 17, 1966 - December 30, 2012)

Jamie Lynn Loy, age 46, of Arkadelphia, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at her residence. She was born March 17, 1966 in Arkadelphia, the daughter of James and Shirley McAnally Loy. She is survived by her mother Shirley Loy of Arkadelphia, two brothers, Michael Loy of Gurdon, Brad Loy of Bismarck, and one sister Sharon Stinnett of Friendship. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.

Pauline P. Porter
(Died December 21, 2012)

Pauline P. Porter (Age 90) died on Friday, December 21, 2012 at home in Alexandria, VA. Polly grew up in southern Arkansas with her brother and four sisters. She enjoyed her time at A&M; in Magnolia – especially the attention of a special football player. She and her football player, Wallace Porter, married in April of 1943 after he completed his military training. Following the war, they settled in Fayetteville, NC where Polly started her career as a bookkeeper for a number of local businesses. In 1981 she and Wallace retired to Edgemont AR to enjoy time with family and new friends. Twenty years later she moved to Alexandria, VA to be closer to family. Always interested in others, Polly made friends that she kept close for the rest of her life. She enjoyed her cup of tea in the morning and looking over her flower garden.

Polly is survived by her daughter, Ruth Willis, son-in-law, Larry Willis, granddaughter, Jessey Willis, a younger sister, Mary Cheatham, and several nephews and nieces. Family and friends are invited to Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, Arkadelphia, AR on Sunday, December 30 at 7:00pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at noon, at the Delamar Family cemetery near Manning. Although Polly loved flowers, memorial contributions to Southern Arkansas University Foundation, Southern Arkansas University – Box 9174, 100 E University, Magnolia, AR 71753-9973.

Rebecca Ann Poindexter
(August 31, 1941 - December 27, 2012)

Rebecca Ann Poindexter, age 71, of Arkadelphia, left this world on Thursday, December 27, 2012 and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was born and raised in Arkadelphia by her parents, the late Henry Grady and Eula Bennett Walker.

Rebecca was a loving mother and grandmother foremost. She enjoyed her family and being a homemaker. She was also the owner of Fireplace Fashions, a family operated clothing store for many years. She was also a caregiver for several local families before her retirement. Rebecca was a member of the First Christian Church in Arkadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Grady Walker, husband and father of her children, Ellis Jester, husband, Everett Poindexter, one nephew, Mitchell Walker and one niece, Paulette Walker.

Rebecca is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Manning (Donny) and Sheila Williams (Larry), both of Arkadelphia, two granddaughters, Kristin Kiernan (Blain) of Benton and Madeline Williams of Arkadelphia, one great-grandson, Jaxon Kiernan of Benton, step-father to her daughters, Edgar Ball of Arkadelphia, one older brother, Charles Walker (Margaret) of Arkadelphia; one younger sister, Peggy Wilson (Jackie) of Benton; one niece, Kimberly Leech (Kelly) of Benton; and two nephews, Chad Wilson of Benton and Jonathan Walker (Liz) of Little Rock.

Her life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Temon Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Unity cemetery with Pastor Scott Jackson officiating graveside. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 30th from 3-5 p.m.

Rebecca's family would like to thank the staff of Baptist Medical Centers of Arkadelphia and Little Rock for the care given her during her time of illness. A special thanks is extended to the ICU and Comfort Care staff of Baptist Little Rock for their exceptional care and kindness shown to our Rebecca during her greatest time of need.
