Bobby Darrel Nichols Sr.
(June 8, 1946 - August 17, 2011)

U.S. Veteran
Bobby Darrel Nichols Sr., age 65, of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in Arkadelphia. He was born June 8, 1946 in Malvern, Arkansas the son of the late Basil and Thelma Williams Nichols. Bobby was a U. S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife of forty years, Pat Smith Nichols; one son, Bobby Darrel Nichols Jr. and wife, Christy of Arkadelphia; five daughters, Holly Holyfield and husband, Ronnie; Kristi Bailey all of Malvern; Gina Beck, Candace Beck, and Kim McGraw and husband, Gailen all of Lonsdale, Arkansas; one brother, Jimmy Nichols and wife, Rita of Malvern; and fourteen grandchildren.

There will be a private graveside service for family members on Friday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Nichols will lie in state on Thursday, 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. at the funeral home.

Johnny McAnally
(May 14, 1928 - August 23, 2011)

Johnny Kelly McAnally, age 83 of Arkadelphia died Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Twin Rivers Health Care. He was born May 14, 1928, in Hollywood, AR, the son of the late Charlie T. & Mittie Kelly McAnally. Johnny joined Hollywood United Methodist Church as a youth and has been active in the church all of his life, also serving in the capacity of Treasurer of the Arkadelphia District United Methodist Church from 1974-1993. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and graduated from Henderson State Teachers College (now HSU) after returning from the service. He retired from Elk Horn Bank (now Southern Bancorp) on June 30, 1993 after thirty-seven years serving in many positions, and retiring as Loan Officer, Branch Manager & Vice-President. He served on the Board of Directors of South Central Arkansas Electric Cooperative for twenty-six years. Johnny was a member of the American Legion and Woodman of the World, served as treasurer of the Clark County 4-H Advisory Committee for many years, enjoyed volunteering for the Clark County Historical Society and loved to travel. He was preceded in death by one sister, Joan McAnally Hardaway.

He is survived by his wife of over fifty-six years, Carolyn Nickels McAnally; one son, J. Kent McAnally of Lawrence, KS, one daughter, Nicki McAnally Tucker and husband, Sonny of Benton, AR; two grandchildren, Megan Tucker Seyler and husband, Klayton of Jonesboro, AR, and Curt Tucker of Benton, AR.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, August 26th in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Langley and Dr. Sonny Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the McAnally cemetery near Hollywood. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hollywood United Methodist Church, c/o Les Brown, 3631 Hwy. 51 S. Arkadelphia, AR.71923., Davidson Campground, c/o Mark McCauley 102 Fawn Ridge Lane Hot Springs, AR. 71913, or McAnally cemetery, c/o Carol Hughes, 483 Manchester Rd. Arkadelphia, AR. 71923. Pallbearers will be Jeff Caldwell, Wallis Callaway, Bert Wingfield, Bob Van den Berghe, Don Wilkinson and Carroll Bell, Jr.

Janet Elois Pennington
(March 10, 1964 - October 26, 2011)

Janet Elois (Bonner) Pennington age 47 of Arkadelphia passed from this life on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at her home. She was born March 10, 1964 in Hanford, California the daughter of the late Henry Clay and Vivian Thornton Bonner. Janet was a homemaker and former health care provider at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Weir Pennington and one brother, Chuck Bonner.

Survivors are one daughter Terra Pennington of Arkadelphia, one son Cody (Chelsea) Pellett of Arkadelphia, one grandson David Pellett, and one brother Everett Bonner of California.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Welch Funeral Home with Adam Godwin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home on Saturday.

Services entrusted to Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

Willard L. Hewitt
(November 5, 1922 - August 1, 2015)

Willard Lucille Baber Hewitt, age 92, of Arkadelphia passed away on August 1 in Maumelle, AR. She was born in Okolona, AR on November 5, 1922 the daughter of the late Guy and Bessie Baber.

A graduate of Okolona High School she worked for the Rural Electric Cooperative Service for several years and after staying home to raise her two boys she returned to work as a bookkeeper for the Daily Siftings Herald for 19 years.

Willard was preceded in death by one son Randall Hewitt and her husband of 64 years Edwin Hewitt. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Eula Schnebly, Norene Bain, Mabel Kyser, Irma Willis, and Vera Wingfield, and two brothers, Tommie Baber and Roy Baber.

As a faithful charter member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church Willard sang soprano in the choir for nearly 50 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her husband, sons and grandsons.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Charlotte Hewitt of Little Rock and her grandsons, Scott Hewitt of Conway and Todd Hewitt of Little Rock.

Services will be held at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5 with Reverend Travis Langley officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 on Tuesday, August 4 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 2301 Crawford St., Arkadelphia, AR 71923 or to the Alzheimer’s Association of Arkansas, 204 Executive Court, Suite 301, Little Rock, AR 72205.

Helen L. Partridge
(July 1, 1932 - June 3, 2012)

Helen L. Partridge age 79 of Amity passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012. She was born July 1, 1932 in Clark County Arkansas the daughter of the late Arnold and Coy Lee Cash Neighbors. She was a longtime member of Bethsaida Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Neighbors and one sister, Eutha Fern Neighbors.

Survivors include her husband of over sixty-one years, Clifton (C-boy) Partridge; one daughter, Phyllis White of Amity; two grandsons, Corey White, Cliff White and wife, Shayla all of Amity; one great-granddaughter, Hayley White of Story City, Iowa; one step great-grandson, Stoney Swearingim and wife, Danell of Alaska; two step great-granddaughters, Bethany Swearingim of Amity, Shaylyce Lacy and husband, Scott and their children, Austin and Allie of Midland, Texas; and a honorable grandchild, Bobby Richardson of Amity.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 6th at Bethsaida Church of Christ with Wallace Alexander and Joe May officiating. Burial will be in Bethsaida cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joel Davidson, Larry Wayne Partridge, Ryan Neighbors, Kenny Francis, Darrell Francis, Tim Harvey and Larry White. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Franklin and staff of Murfreesboro Nursing Home. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation.

Gloria Jane Rogers
(July 12, 1951 - April 1, 2012)

Gloria Jane Rogers age 60, of Bryant, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Little Rock. She was born July 12, 1951 in Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late Garrett Thomas and Sylvia Faye Beaty Hughes. She was a retired bookkeeper.

Survivors are her husband, Jim Rogers; one daughter, Cristy Bishop of Bryant; two brothers, Robert (Mary Gail) Hughes and Thomas (Cindy) Hughes all of Prescott; two sisters, Linda (Ed) Ray of Friendship, Betty Ogden of Arkadelphia; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 4th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Visitation will be 12:30 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Clara "Peach" Perry
(May 11, 1926 - December 17, 2012)

Clara "Peach" Perry age 86 of Little Rock passed away peacefully December 17, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Perry. She is survived by her children Pennie Joyner of Memphis TN, Tom Perry of Fayetteville AR, and Chuck Perry of Greenville TX, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She will live on through the family history she shared, the pottery she created, and the items she would knit and crochet.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:30 PM Tuesday, December 18th in the Rose Hill cemetery in Arkadelphia with Rev. James Calhoun officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM till service time Tuesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.

Frances Troyer
(February 25, 1940 - April 24, 2015)

Lily Frances Troyer died April 24, 2015 in Arkadelphia. Frances was born February 25, 1940 in Garrison Kentucky. She was a cashier at Valley Exxon for many years and attended El Shaddoi Ministries in Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her son Andrew Troyer and daughter Kathy Smith. Survivors include two sons, Charles Smith III and his wife Linda of Donaldson and William Joseph Smith of Arkadelphia; and six grandchildren Dana Smith, Tabitha Smith of Georgia, Adam, Austin and Jackson Smith all of Donaldson, and Kirby Smith of Arkadelphia, and a great granddaughter, Tatianna Smith of Arkadelphia.

Graveside Service will be Sunday 3:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia with Pastor Nellie Looper officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:30 pm at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home.

James "Bo" Taylor
(February 7, 1937 - March 23, 2012)

James Edwin "Bo' Taylor age 75 of Sparkman died Friday, March 23, 2012 in Little Rock. He was born February 7, 1937 in Sparkman the son of James Caldwell and Helen DeLaughter Taylor. (Bo still lived in the same house where he was born.) Bo attended the University of Arkansas and graduated from Henderson State University with a degree in chemistry. After graduation he worked with a seismograph crew in oil exploration in Texas, Oklahoma, and Wyoming. He resigned to come home and farm. Bo was active in Farm Bureau and soil conservation in Dallas County. He was a volunteer fireman where he served as chief for a number of years and was head of the Sparkman cemetery Committee. Bo was an avid turkey hunter and enjoyed all outdoor sports. He was a member of the Sparkman United Methodist Church for 66 years where he served as Sunday School Superintendant for many years. Bo was preceded in death by a nephew, John Taylor.

Survivors include one brother, Dr. George D. Taylor and his wife Jeannie of Frisco, TX, one nephew, Benjamin Taylor of New York City, one niece, Jennifer Taylor Gunnin and her husband Mark of Dallas, TX, one great nephew, John Charles Gunnin, one great niece, Mary Grace Gunnin, several cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Monday in the Sparkman United Methodist Church with Royce Savage and Robert Langley officiating. Burial will be in the Sparkman cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Sunday at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sparkman United Methodist Church c/o Opal Taylor or the Sparkman cemetery Fund c/o Patricia Wright.

Robert M. Edmonds
(December 31, 1943 - December 17, 2012)

U.S. Veteran
Robert M. Edmonds age 68 of Maumelle, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 in Little Rock. He was born December 31, 1943 in Beirne, Arkansas the son of the late Charles Douglas and Ruth Crouch Edmonds. He was a member of Maumelle First Baptist Church, was a machine operator for Domtar Inc. in Ashdown and was a U. S. Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Sammy Edmonds; two sisters, Betty Faye Edmonds and Beverly Clark.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Sue Holloway Edmonds; one daughter, Robyn Hatcher and husband, Rich of North Little Rock; two grandsons, Jason Cole and Canton Edmond Hatcher; three brothers, Chuck Schmidt and wife, Pat of St. Petersburg, Florida, Bill Edmonds and wife, Jerrie of Longview, Texas, Paul Edmonds and wife, Dottie of Knoxville, Tennessee; four sisters, Patsy Castanedo of Dunellon, Florida, Ellie Smith and husband, Lou of Canton, Ohio, Beckie Jolley and husband, Larry of Dresden, Tennessee, and Mary Gay Edwards and husband, Mike of Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 20th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Johnny Jackson, Bro. Paul McClung and Bro. Tommy Guthrie officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12:30 until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Wayne N. Elliott
(November 26, 1925 - August 19, 2015)

Wayne N. Elliott age 89, of Bismarck passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in Arkadelphia. He was born November 26, 1925 to Deemas and Althea Cosby Elliott. Wayne was retired from Junge Bread Company and was a member of Third Street Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. Wayne served in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was captured by the German Army at the Battle of the Bulge.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Romana Elliott; three brothers, Leslie, Dick and Buster Elliott; two sisters, Verda Phillips and Mural Higgins.

Survivors are his wife, Ovella Elliott; three daughters, Lidia (Jack) Clark of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Joyce (Lanney) White of Rogers, Arkansas, Beverly (Lewie) Wallace of Lafayette, Indiana; step-children, Barbara (Bob) Watson of Bismarck, Brenda (James) Davis of Arkadelphia, Olivia (Roger) Harrod of Maumelle, David (Becky) Bost and Dr. Dan (Kelley) Bost all of Arkadelphia; twenty-eight grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one niece, Virginia Fields of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Visitation will 6-8 PM Friday, August 21st at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 22nd at Caney Missionary Baptist Church with Ralph Ruffin and Greg Latham officiating.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 2:00 PM Monday, August 24th at Farmington cemetery in Farmington, Arkansas.
