Wilma Earlene Morrison
(August 3, 1942 - October 25, 2011)

Wilma Earlene Morrison age 69 of Friendship, AR died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 while in hospice care in Hot Springs. She was born August 3, 1942 in St. Louis, MO to Earl and Wilma Jones. She was a long time employee of the Arkadelphia Human Development Center until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her mother Wilma Hecker and a sister Mildred Kay Wall.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years Gilbert Morrison, two sons, Charles Morrison of Hot Springs and Douglas Morrison of Conway, AR, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter, four brothers, Jerry Jones of Friendship, James Saunders of Coal Hill, AR, Gene Saunders of Russellville, AR and Paul Hecker of Dover, AR.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, October 28 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in the Gilchrist cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a special thanks to her care givers, Sharon and Heather of Hospice Home Care, nurses, aides and medical staff.

Ola Mae "Jane" Wilson
(February 3, 1921 - May 18, 2012)

Ola Mae "Jane" Wilson age 91 passed away May 18, 2012. She was born February 3, 1921 at Amity, AR the daughter of Izzie and Annie Caruthers Hancock. Ola Mae was a beautician until her retirement. She moved to Village Creek Apartments ten years ago and was blessed with many friends and attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, James Royce Rooks and Gerald Lee Rooks, three brothers, Winfred, Harold "Bud", and Doyle Hancock.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Rooks of Tyler, TX, several grandchildren and great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:30 Tuesday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Alpine cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30 PM till service time at the funeral home.

Eva Bertha Hogue
(November 3, 1925 - May 27, 2012)

Eva Bertha Wingfield Hogue, age 86 of Gurdon, passed from this life on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Courtyard Gardens. She was born on November 3, 1925 in Mountain Springs, the daughter of the late Wesley Oliver and Lillie Alma Parks Wingfield. Eva was a loving mother and homemaker and spent fourteen years working as a nurse's aide at Pineview Nursing Home in Gurdon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gurdon. Eva was a graduate of the Red River Vocational Technical School in Hope with instruction in nurse's aide. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Gurdon. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, James Millard Hogue, her son Larry Hogue, seven sisters, Ruby Mahoney, Carolyn Cash, Ola Cox, Elsie Goza, Katie Cottingham, Mina Joyce Woolsey and Ethel West, and four brothers, Francis Tim, Fred O., Sidney and Wilburn Wingfield,

She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Charles and Kay Hogue of Sherwood and Jimmy and Linda Gayle Hogue of Gurdon, four grandchildren, Whitney Lincoln and her husband, Graham, Jessie Hogue, Michael Hogue and David Hogue, two great grandchildren, Henry Lincoln and Brittany Hogue and two sisters, Ann Langley and Dorothy Hays.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Rose Hedge cemetery in Gurdon with Bro. Mike Taylor officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Pallbearers are Jessie Hogue, David Hogue, Michael Hogue, Freddie Horne, Jeral White and Doyle Malcom.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231.

Services are entrusted to Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

Irene Chamberlin
(February 23, 1935 - May 7, 2012)

Freddie Irene Behrens Chamberlin, age 77, of Okolona, passed from this life on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on February 23, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of the late Roy and Alice Masey Behrens. Irene was a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her son, Carl Edward Chamberlin and her daughter, Alice McMurry.

Irene is survived by two daughters, Catherine Anderson of Beeville, TX and Mary Abbot of Tool, TX, one son, Cecil Wade (Denise) Chamberlin of Okolono, AR, six sisters, Betty Orman of San Antonio, Ruth Filley of Atascosa, TX, Mary Brown of Booneville, AR, Leona Chamberlin of San Antonio, Mildred Griffin of Seguin, TX and Virginia Sellers of San Antonio, two brothers, William Behrens of North Carolina and Roy Behrens of Kansas City, KS, eight grand children and two great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Mission Park cemetery in San Antonio.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at Mission Park Funeral Home in San Antonio.

Memorials may be made to the Clark County Humane Society, 627 Walnut, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.

Local arrangements are by Welch Funeral Home.

Addie Lee Sabine
(May 25, 1929 - November 18, 2011)

Addie Lee Wilson Sabine, age 82, of Arkadelphia, AR, died Friday, November 18, 2011, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of Issac Alexander and Lennie L. Lennie Toland. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Wilburn and Alexander Toland; 2 sisters, Vada Brown & Essie Brown.

She is survived by her husband, James; 2 sons, Jackey Wilson and Allen Wilson, both of Arkadelphia; 3 daughters, Brenda Wilson Scott, Arkadelphia, Patricia Wilson Horton, Arkadelphia, Cathey Loera Wilson, Arkadelphia; one sister, Dottie Toland Streich, Pine Bluff; 2 step-sons, Mike Sabine and Paul Sabine; two step-daughters, Carol Pounds, Cathy Sabine; half brother, James Toland; 3 half sisters, Jeanie Toland, Jane Cason, June Stephenson; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Todd Franks officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00- 3:00 p.m. at the church.

Nellie Ruth McKa
(December 14, 1927 - July 22, 2011)

Nellie Ruth McKa, age 83, of Sparkman, died Friday, July 22, 2011 at her home. She was born December 14, 1927 in Ferriday, Louisiana, the daughter of Willis and Helen Powell Rutledge. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Her husband, Cody McKa; two sons, Clifford Butch McKa and Elmer Rutledge; one daughter, Modell Rogers; and one sister, Sarah Hill all preceded her in death.

Survivors include five sons, Jimmy McKa and Jake McKa both of Sparkman, James McKa and Bill McKa both of Malvern, Curtis McKa of Dalark; two daughters, Wilma Pettit of Reeder, Arkansas; Linda Ray of Sparkman; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Jessie Goff of Little Rock, Raymond Rutledge of Malvern; two sisters, Myrtle Mae LaRue of Hot Springs and Ellen Eppler of Tennessee.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 24th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Donald Coon officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia cemetery at Dalark. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Kenneth Odell Gray
(April 20, 1943 - May 8, 2012)

Kenneth Odell Gray age 69 of Arkadelphia passed from this life on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. He was born April 20, 1943 in Gould, Arkansas the son of Elwood Odell and Evelyn Tarlton Gray. Kenneth was a Baptist, an avid deer hunter and fisherman and retired from Ouachita Marine and Grumman (Alumacraft) Boats of Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his father, one son Kenneth Carroll Gray and one sister Sabrina Manes.

Kenneth is survived by his mother, Evelyn Pearson of Gould, one son, Butch Gray of Caddo Valley, two daughters, Tonya (George) Magby of Arkadelphia, and Lynn (Donnie) Stephenson of Friendship, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, Ricky (Bonita) Pearson of Dover, Greg (Paula) Gray of Bismarck, four sisters, Sue (Jack) Ursery of Gurdon, Linda (David) Irons of McGhee, Sandra (Larry) Murphy of Gould, and Doris (Gerald) Taylor of Amity.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home with David Avington officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home of George and Tonya Magby, 310 Bonham Street, Arkadelphia.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 901 N University Little Rock, AR 72207

The family wishes to thank the staff of Twin Rivers Health and Rehab Center for their special care of Mr. Gray.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

Diana Jane Bonnette
(June 28, 1932 - November 19, 2012)

Diana Jane Wehe Bonnette age 80 of Hot Springs died Monday, November 19, 2012 in Hot Springs. She was born June 28, 1932 in Baton Rogue, LA. the daughter of the late Albert H. and Helen Whitaker Wehe. She obtained a Master's degree from Louisiana State University in 1957. Diana was a Methodist.

She taught at Norwich University in Northfield, VT. and was a computer analyst for the State of Vermont before moving to Hot Springs where she resided for ten years. She was the widow of Robert Bonnette.

Survivors are one sister, Marilyn Horton and husband, Philip of Hot Springs; two brothers, James E. Wehe and wife, Daisy of Dallas, TX, Albert H. Wehe of Raleigh, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bonnette will be returned to Northfield, Vermont for burial beside her husband. No local services are planned.

Dean D. Whitley
(November 22, 1928 - November 13, 2012)

Dean D. Whitley age 83 of Little Rock, formerly of Arkadelphia, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012. He was born November 22, 1928 in Hot Spring County the son of Guy and Rellie Hardin Whitley. He was a retired newspaper printer having worked for the Southern Standard in Arkadelphia, the Arkansas Democrat and retiring from the Arkansas Gazette. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Brookwood First Baptist Church in Little Rock.

Survivors include his wife Mattie Vanlandingham Whitley, three daughters, Cindy (Jim) Taylor of Cabot, Vicky Whitley and Tammy (Greg) Harrison all of Little Rock, four brothers, Lyndle (Juanita) Whitley of Donaldson, Milton Whitley of Okolona, Marlon (Earlene) Whitley and Don (Brenda) Whitley both of Malvern, three sisters, Bernice Smith of Hot Springs, Earlene (Paul) Phillips of Skiatook, OK, and Earnestine Franklin of Amity, three grandchildren, Nathan Taylor and Emily and Gretchen Harrison.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, November 17th in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Pastor Doyce Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Caney cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM till service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be to the Caney cemetery C/O Elcyon Smith, 4100 Caney Rd., Bismarck, AR 71929.

Ruth Virginia Copeland
(November 2, 1927 - August 13, 2011)

Ruth Virginia Copeland age 83 of Arkadelphia died Saturday. She was born November 2, 1927 in Clark county the daughter of Shelby and Gertrude Pennington Braden. She was a retired Central School food service employee and a member of Third Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd G. Copeland.

Survivors include four daughters, Judy Copeland and special grandson Denver Copeland of Arkadelphia, Lou Copeland of Hot Springs, Barbara Hunter of Hot Springs, and Mary Sells of Colgate, OK, two sisters, Ann Johnston of Arkadelphia and Mabel Neeley of Cabot, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday in the Third Street Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Latham officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. There will be no formal visitation.
