Billy Joe Wortham
(May 7, 1937 - February 22, 2013)

Billy Joe Wortham, age 75 of Amity, passed from this life on Friday, February 22, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 7, 1937 in Buckeye, AZ, the son of the late Chester A. and Jessie Davis Wortham. Billy worked for nineteen years as a clerk for West Pine Exxon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Jolly Wortham and his step mother, Dona Wortham.

Billy is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Tanya and Jeremy Windisch and Donna and Richard Allen Henthorn, all of Amity, two brothers, Tommy Wortham and Chet Wortham, two sisters, Naomi Oneal and Dee Long, two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Coker cemetery with Rev. Johnny McAnally officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Saturday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Pallbearers are Larry Carroll, Ryan Neighbors, Bobby Graves, Gene Graves, Nathan Hill and Jared Henthorn.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 North University, Little Rock, AR 72207.

Final arrangements are entrusted to The Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

Jeffery Patrick Toms
(June 17, 1976 - February 14, 2013)

Jeffery Patrick Toms age 36 of Arkadelphia passed from this life on Thursday, February 14, 2013 near Bismarck. He was born June 17, 1976 in Knoxville, TN the son of James and Nancy Golden Toms. Jeff was a mechanic and a Catholic.

He is survived by his parents, one son, Jacob Patrick Toms of Dallas, his fiance Elisa Shaw of Arkadelphia, two brothers, James T. Toms of North Dakota and Jeremy Toms of Houston, TX, his paternal grandmother, Willie F. Toms of Seagoville, TX, and several nieces and nephews and great friends.

Private family services will be held.

Final arrangements are entrusted to The Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

Patricia Ann Chambliss
(November 21, 1941 - February 14, 2013)

Patricia Ann Chambliss, age 71 of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday, February 14, 2012 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born on November 21, 1941 in Camden, the daughter of the late Rufus Cecil and Irene Abbott Key. Patricia was a graduate of Bearden High School, Ouachita Baptist University and received a masters degree from the University of Arkansas. She taught French and English at several public schools and universities including Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University. Patricia was a member of First Baptist Church and taught the women's Sunday school class for many years.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Charles Chambliss, of Arkadelphia, and her son, Kevin (Chrystal) Chambliss of Clifton, TX.

No service or visitation is planned.

John H. Jones
(Died July 17, 2011)

John Howard Jones of Little Rock died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the age of 66 years old. He was born July 31, 1944 in Houston, Texas, the son of James Earnest and Linda Ernestine Taylor Jones. John attended St Luke United Methodist Church in Little Rock and was a member of the Masons. John began working for Safeway in Little Rock when he was 19 years old as an industrial maintenance worker. He later worked for Harvest Foods and City Market. John was a loyal and dedicated employee. He was very proud to work at the same store location in Little Rock for over 40 years.

John was a wonderful brother to six siblings. He has three brothers: James Taylor Jones of New York City, William Eugene Jones of Elkins, AR, and James Earnest Jones Jr. of Little Rock, and three sisters: Virginia Ruth Jones Crawford of Lampasas, TX, Marcia Jane Jones Shepherd of Sherwood, AR, and Elizabeth Oscaranna Jones Allison of Cammack Village, AR.

John was not only a loyal employee and wonderful brother, but also a true friend. He was a very giving person and was always willingly to lend a helping hand when needed or to just give you a hug. John was preceded in death by his parents and beloved aunt, Eula Ruth Harrison of Little Rock. He is survived by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will truly miss him.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday, July 23 in St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Little Rock with Dr. Candace Barron officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Arkadelphia. Visitation will be from 9 AM Saturday until service time at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 6401 W. 32nd St., Little Rock, AR 72204.

Amy Marie May
(July 24, 1962 - January 25, 2013)

Amy Marie May age 50 of Sparkman passed from this life on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born July 24, 1962 in Fordyce the daughter of the late Marvin Coy and Doris Earline Heath Russell. Amy was an LPN and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve May, and one brother, Steve Russell.

Amy is survived by one daughter, Emily May of Bearden, one son, Aaron (Brandy) May of Friendship, three sisters, Sheila Schaffner of Camden, Lisa Mosley and Linda Raney of Kingsland, four brothers, Stanley and Michael Russell of Camden, Rodney and Tim Russell of Kingsland, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Shady Grove Baptist Church near Sparkman with Shane Russell officiating.

Interment will be in Holeman cemetery.

No visitation will be held.

Pallbearers are Tim, Rodney, Mike and Stanley Russell, Sam May and Austin McCants.

Honorary pallbearers are Joe and David May.

Memorials may be made to Holeman cemetery Fund, C/O Joy Holman 2811 Twin Rivers Dr Apt #4, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.

Marshall G. Weatherford
(January 23, 1950 - November 17, 2011)

Marshall Glenn Weatherford, age 61, of Bismarck, AR, died Thursday, November 17, 2011, in Bismarck, AR, the son of Hershel and Irene Sorrell Weatherford. He was employed by Weatherford Air Conditioning Company and a Deacon of DeRoche Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Shuffield Weatherford; three sons, Bryan Weatherford, Bismarck, Blaine Weatherford, Hot Springs and Barry Weatherford, Dover, Delaware; four brothers, Lonnie Weatherford, Whelen Springs, Mitchell Weatherford, Pearcy, Greg and Jeff Weatherford, Bonnerdale; one sister, Louise Mehalic, Bonnerdale; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 21 at DeRoche Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Chris Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Oma cemetery near Pearcy, AR. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home. Pallbearers are David Mitchell, Glen Beshears, Blaine Weatherford, Bryan Weatherford, Barry Weatherford, Kevin Mehalic, and Steven Mehalic.

Memorials may be made to DeRoche Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Building or Mission Fund, c/o Elster Allen, 1992 Allen Road, Bismarck, AR 71929.

Margaret M. Sharp
(May 21, 1924 - January 3, 2013)

Margaret M. Sharpe age 88 of Arkadelphia formerly of Hoxie, passed from this life on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial cemetery in Hoxie.

Kenneth Leroy Richards
(September 12, 1943 - January 13, 2013)

Kenneth Leroy Richards, age 69 of Delight, passed from this life on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born on September 12, 1943 in Benton, the son of the late Victor L. and Elma Clardy Richards. Ken was self employed and a member of the Church of Christ and the Rockin R Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his sister, Velda Lang.

Ken is survived by his wife, Penny Shane Richards, one daughter Jennie Richards of Nashville, two sons, Todd (Karen) Richards of Nashville and Bret (Paige) Richards of Bossier City, LA, two sisters, Pamela Richards and Brenda (Ricky) Bates of Hot Springs, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Antoine Church of Christ with Jim Honea and Randy Hughes officiating.

Interment will be in Antoine cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Angle, Bobby Arney, Josh Williams, Sean Brammer, John Mark Lane and Jerry Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CCSC, 209 West L Street, Russellville, AR 72871.

Lois Marie Buck
(May 8, 1913 - July 17, 2011)

Lois Marie Buck, age 98, of Hot Springs went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2011. She was born May 8, 1913 at Center Ridge, Arkansas located in Clark County, the daughter of James Ennis and Eunice Boyd Glover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmie Edward Buck in 1988 and her oldest daughter, Quita Faye Buck in 1995. Lois was a lifelong member of Alpine Presbyterian Church in Alpine, Arkansas. Lois and Carmie were the owners of the Buck Grocery Store in Alpine for over forty years and Carmie served as the postmaster.

She was a wonderful homemaker, loved gospel music, and most of all an awesome mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Edward Ray Buck (Ruby) of Forsyth, Georgia, Jimmy Max Buck (Charlotte) of Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters, Linda Sue White (Russell) of Jackson, Tennessee, Brenda Gail Forsythe of Hot Springs, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren. eleven great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 21st at Alpine cemetery Chapel with Bro. Billy Thomason officiating. Burial will be in Alpine cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to Alpine cemetery Fund % Troy Buck, P. O. 41, Alpine, Arkansas 71920.
