Rita Joy Mouton Browning
(September 13, 1924 - November 10, 2011)

Rita Joy Mouton Browning, 87, of Hot Springs died at Arkansas Hospice in Mercy Medical Center, Thursday, November 10, 2011.

She was born September 13, 1924 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Alvin R. and Mabel Seebt Mouton.

Survivors include one son, Michael Browning, two daughters, Debbie Reed and Lyndy Westerman and her husband, Gary all of Hot Springs.

Other survivors include her grandchildren, Traci Telford and husband Jamey of Maumelle, Kevin Reed and wife Ashley of Hot Springs, Patrick Westerman and wife Molly of Hot Springs, Ashleigh Westerman of Conway, Jason Goslee of Hot Springs, Vanessa Rodgers and husband Blake of Arkadelphia, and Ryan Browning and wife Holli, of Hot Springs.

Great grandchildren include Dillon and Allison Telford, Tayler Reed, Davis and Will Westerman, Christian Hibbs, Bryce and Brennan Browning, Drew and Isabel Rodgers, and R.C., Nic, Amberly, and Colin Goslee.

Rita Joy was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Robert Browning, a son-in-law Wayne Reed, and a daughter-in-law Brenda Browning.

She was a graduate of Mt. Saint Mary’s Academy and was the Valedictorian of her senior class.

She attended Arkansas State Teacher’s College and graduated from Little Rock Junior College.

During her life, she was a member of the Hot Springs Country Club, served as President of the Women’s Golf Association and the Nite Capper’s.

Rita Joy was a life member of Junior Auxiliary, member of the Hot Springs Duplicate Bridge Club, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and the Good Samaritan Circle.

She was an avid tournament bridge player, enjoyed cooking, reading, needle point and knitting, playing golf, and travelled extensively.

She especially enjoyed the time spent playing bridge with her many friends.

The family extends special thanks to the staffs of Brookfield Assisted Living and Memory Care, National Park Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Arkansas Hospice, and Jo Ann Pryor.

To her caregivers, Dorothy Beryahi, Angie Webb, Linda Pee, Minnie Hansen, and Norene Bates, we express deep appreciation for your kindness, support, and loving care.

On Monday, November 14th, a Rosary Service will be held at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m., followed by visitation from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

A memorial graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 15th at 10:00 in Calvary cemetery, Hot Springs, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or Arkansas Hospice.

The family will be at 132 St. Charles Circle.

James Wesley Blake
(March 15, 1942 - November 7, 2011)

James Wesley Blake, 69, Hot Springs, formally of Farmersville, California went home to be with the Lord on November 7, 2011.

He was born in Avant, Arkansas, to William Franklin and Lillie Mary (Godwin) Blake.

Wes retired after forty-four years with Pinkham Farms of Exeter, California.

He is predeceased by his parents; daughter, Deborah Blake; grandson, Eric Blake; sisters, Hessibell Graves, Eula May and Lillie Faye Blake; and brother Delmar Eugene Blake.

Loving survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Juanita Blake; daughter, Jaime Wood both of Hot Springs; sons, Greg Blake, of Perryville, Arkansas and Chris Blake of Farmersville, California; brothers, Leonard Blake, Bobby Blake and L.A. Blake all of Farmersville, California; sisters, Ida Niblett of Hot Springs, Martha Ballew, of Mansfield, Arkansas and Pauline Phillips, of Farmersville, California; granddaughter, Madison 'Boo Boo' Wood; great-grandson, Shaun Blake of Jacksonville, Florida; and great-granddaughter, Hailey Blake of Morrilton, Arkansas.

He is also survived by many nephews and nieces, best friends and golfing buddies Bill Carter and James Godwin and also many dear friends and co-workers at Pinkham Farms.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Avant Community Church with Rev. Paul Moore officiating.

Also, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 19, 2011 at Church of God, 1132 E Ash, Farmersville, CA with Rev. Nolan Phillips officiating.

Lisa Ann Rowland
(June 6, 1962 - November 7, 2011)

Lisa Ann Rowland, 49, of Hot Springs, went to be with her Lord and her earthly father, Johnny Rowland on November 7, 2011.

Lisa Ann was caring, giving and funny with a great sense of humor.

She was also a huge Hog fan.

She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed '1-4-3'.

Survivors include her daughter, Chelsea (Matt) Plummer; son, Huey Shipman; mother and stepfather, Linda and Lee McNeely; brothers, Trice (Loretta) Rowland, Johnny Rowland Jr., Lester Rowland and Shannon Rowland, all of Hot Springs; stepsisters, Deanna and Bridgett; and stepbrothers, Darren and Travis.

Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Jessieville Church of God with Bro. Larry McNeely officiating.

Daniel "Boomie" Oliver
(November 13, 1953 - November 6, 2011)

Daniel 'Boomie' Oliver, 57, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Sunday, November 6, 2011.

He was born November 13, 1953 in Hot Springs to the late Roy A. and Mary V. (Shirley) Oliver.

Daniel was a native of Hot Springs and spent many years working with the horses at Oaklawn Park and other tracks around the country.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Sammy and Tommy Oliver.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Oliver of Hot Springs; sons J. J. Musgrove and Mark Maycock; daughter Tina Mains (Raymond); brother Eddie Oliver (DeeDee) all of Hot Springs; sisters Mary Ann Browning (Bill) of Bonnerdale, Martha Isom (Odean) of Pearcy; Sharon Chancellor (Roger) of Bonnerdale; Becky Isom (George) of Mountain Pine; Sheila Oliver of Booneville; three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oma cemetery with Bro. Homer LaRue officiating.

Pallbearers include Jimmy Thompson, Andy Thompson, Eric Oliver, J. D. Oliver, Roger Lee Chancellor and Chris Isom.

Elna M. Tomlinson
(February 17, 1913 - November 7, 2011)

Elna M. Tomlinson, 98, of Hot Springs Village passed away November 7, 2011.

She was born February 17, 1913 in Magazine, Arkansas to Blain and Mary Blackburn Moon.

Elna loved to cook and enjoyed her 26 years in Hot Springs Village.

She was a member of Barcelona Road Baptist Church and worked in numerous churches as church secretary.

She is predeceased by her parents and two brothers.

Elna is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dean Tomlinson of Hot Springs Village; sisters-in-law, J.B. Moon of Fort Smith, Margaret Moon of California and Earnistine White of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday in Caruth Village Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn cemetery, Fort Smith.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at Barcelona Road Baptist Church.

Steven Matthew Oxford
(February 20, 1951 - November 5, 2011)

U.S. Veteran
Devoted husband, father and grandfather, Steve Oxford, 60, of Jessieville, passed away November 5, 2011.

He was born February 20, 1951 in Flint, Michigan to Hulon Matthew Oxford and Mary Rutherford.

Steve served in the U.S. Marines and was a truck driver.

He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

He is predeceased by his father, Hulon Oxford; son, Kenneth Oxford; and a grandson.

Steve is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda Oxford of Jessieville; sons, Blake (Nickie) Oxford of Mabelvale and Justin Oxford of Little Rock; daughter, Carrie Waddle of Jessieville; mother, Mary Pepper of Little Rock; brother, John Oxford of Montana; sister, Gail Oxford of Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Lawrence Patrick Griffin
(July 11, 1951 - November 3, 2011)

Lawrence Patrick Griffin, 60, of Hot Springs Village, passed away November 3, 2011.

He was born July 11, 1951 in Queens, New York to Lawrence Theodore Griffin and Kathleen McGurrin Griffin, both deceased.

Larry is survived and loved by: brother, Joseph Peter Griffin and his wife Sharon; sisters, Noreen Ann Griffin and Kathleen Maria Witt and her husband Bryan.

Larry grew up on Long Island, New York, attended Corpus Christi Catholic School, West Islip High School, and North Country Community College.

He received a degree in Liberal Arts specializing in classical literature.

After college, he lived many years in Saranac Lake, New York where he lived the Thoreau lifestyle on a local lake.

Throughout his life, he remained an avid reader and dedicated conservationist.

Larry was a Bohemian in the intellectual sense.

He travelled the United States extensively working a variety of jobs that allowed him to explore the country and pursue his passion for the outdoors.

He finally settled in Florida in the 1970’s near family and became a skilled carpenter and craftsman.

In 2010, he retired to Hot Springs Village where he continued to enjoy his love of outdoors, woodworking, and antiques.

Larry was known for his gentle nature, intellectual conversation, and a genuine interest in others.

Though he had no children of his own, he loved children and was loved by all his nieces and nephew.

He made and kept friends easily and will be sorely missed.

We’ll not see the likes of him come this way again.

Deborah Renee Farrar
(August 5, 1969 - November 2, 2011)

Deborah Renee’ Farrar, 42, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011.

She was born August 5, 1969 In Lancaster, Ohio.

She was a member of Deb’s Diamondhead Divas, and Little Rock Rotary Club.

She is survived by her husband Scott Farrar; son Derrick Ray Hartberger; and daughter Kalie Renee’ Hartberger, all of Hot Springs, AR; parents Eddie & Geraldine Edwards of New Straitsville, OH; brothers Greg Weis & his wife Nicole of Logan, OH, Steve Weis & his wife Sandy of Logan, OH, Mark Edwards & his wife Terrel of Tarlton, OH; sisters Meriam Cogan & her husband Joe of Chillicothe, OH, and Elizabeth Rife & her husband Steve of New Lexington, OH.

A memorial service will be 10:00 am Saturday at Diamondhead Community Church with Rev. Mike Fikes officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.

Sally Ann Bradley
(July 10, 1951 - November 2, 2011)

Sally Ann Bradley, 60, of Buckville, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer Wednesday, November 2, 2011.

She was born July 10, 1951 in Benton, Arkansas to the late William Fred and Jewell Lee (Sanders) Witham.

Sally married Dean Bradley Jr. July 11, 1969.

She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church; worked in office management in the medical field; was President of Buckville Church and cemetery Association; worked in Girl Scouts and on the PTO Board at Jessieville Schools; liked to cook, crochet and make hair bows; and loved Christmas and vacations.

Sally Ann will most be remembered as being very loyal, loving and giving to all of her family and friends - a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother William Fred Witham, Jr.; father-in-law Wilburn Dean Bradley, Sr.; and sister-in-laws Terri Bradley and Shelley Stout-Pharis.

Sally Ann is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Dean Bradley, Jr. of Buckville; was the loving mother to John Bradley (Heather) of Buckville, Johnny Scott (Kelly) of Malvern, Carrie Roberts (Jared), Melissa Willis (Doug) all of Buckville, Mary Dover (Seth) Bismarck, Alexys Bradley and Elyjah Bradley of Buckville; loving grandmother to Emilee Hughes, Kirstyn Willis, Kelsea Hughes, Alex Bradley, Madison Willis, Dakota Willis, Ely Bradley, Zac Bradley, Faith Dover and Cooper Dover; mother-in-law Wilma Bradley of Hot Springs; sister Martha McElrath of Hot Springs; brothers James Pharis of Buckville and Billy Witham of Forest City; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel.

Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Bratton officiating.

Interment will follow in Buckville cemetery.

Pallbearers include Bob Ramsey, Sam Hayre, Buddy Burks, Keith Blocker, Wade Harrell, Ed DePriest, Josh Lambert and Mitch Tipton.

Honorary pallbearers include Sally’s four best friends: Jeanette White Thornberry, Gaye Tapley Sample, Angela Vick Hall, and Marsha Ramsey Davis.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Arkansas Hospice; the UAMS Cancer Institute and the staff of UAMS 7H Wing.
