Wayne Cochran

Wayne Cochran, 77, of Cabot died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Survivors include his wife Melba Cochran of the home; sons Steve of Little Rock, and David Cochran of Cabot; daughter Cindy Cochran of Atlanta, Ga.; sister Eloise Landis of Grapevine, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Thursday, Oct. 19, at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Cabot.

Memorials be made to Southside Church of Christ, Cabot, Ark., Arkansas Hospice Foundation or The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service.

Clara B. Dodson

Clara Bell Dodson, 81, of Lonoke died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006.

She was a member of Panola Missionary Baptist Church in Lonoke, the Eastern Star, the American Legion and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children Tommy Barger of Benton, Lonnie Barger, Barbara Schroeder and Danny Barger all of Lonoke; sister Shirley Maples of Lonoke; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Thursday, Oct. 19, at Arkansas Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements were by Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.

Kayden A. Spires

Kayden Alexis Spires, Infant, of Lonoke died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

Survivors include her parents Derrick and Jessica Spires; grandparents Robert and Dena Tate and Barbara Hill of Lonoke, Rhonda Legate of England, David Spires and Margaret Maroney of Carlisle and Robert Lynn Legate of Tennessee.

Funeral Services were held Friday, October 20, at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke with burial in Legate cemetery.

Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.

Richard E. Selby

Richard E. Selby, 63, of Austin died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and a Machinist by trade.

Survivors are his brother John Selby and wife Patsy of Wichita, Kan.; Mildred Reynolds of Hot Springs; Jane Crouch of Lincoln, Me; June Selby of Lawrenceville, Ga.; Amy and Stewart Lee of Carrollton, Ga.; Jim Crouch of Omaha, Neb.; and Ricky and Cristy Crouch of Lincoln, Neb.

A private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service.

Wayman Perkins

Wayman Lee Perkins, 86, of Stuttgart died Monday, October 16, 2006.

He served in the Army during WWII and was a retired machinist.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Virginia Weidner Perkins; son Arthur Perkins and wife Susan of Lonoke; and daughters Jerry Bise and husband Rodney of Heber Springs and Judy Taylor and husband Duane of Stuttgart; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 19, at Turpin Funeral Home chapel.

Memorials may be made to Grand Avenue United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Patsy Winstead

Patsy Ann Winstead, 68, of Jacksonville died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006.

She was member of Indianhead Lake Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Alvin Winstead; sons Ronnie Clayton and wife Pam of North Little Rock, and Steve Clayton and wife Vickie of Cabot; mother Katherine Jordan of Jacksonville; sister Frances Shaw of Kentucky; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were held at Saturday, Oct. 21, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.

Private burial service was in Kings cemetery.

Arrangements were by the North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Curtis Burnett, Jr.

Curtis Wesley Burnett, Jr., 87, of Little Rock, died Thursday, Oct.19, 2006.

He was preceded in death by parents Curtis Wesley Burnett, Sr., and Effie Powell Burnett Jeter.

Survivors include his wife Willie Mae; children Ray Burnett, Robert Burnett and wife Jean, Mamie Burton and husband Robert, Viola Burnett, all of Little Rock, Edward Burnett of Lonoke, Herbert Burnett and wife Wanda of Jacksonville, Freddie Burnett and wife Nanava of Sherwood, Erma Kuykendall and husband Robert of Little Rock, Betty Conley and husband Darryl of Bald Knob, Hardy Burnett and wife Doreen of Chicago, Ill., and Thurman Burnett and wife Dorothy of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters Joyce Cabean of Detroit, Mich., and Maxine Ferrell of Chicago, Ill.; 44 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m., Church of Christ, 1115 W. Palm Street, Lonoke, by Bro. Thomas Hardiway Jr.

Arrangements were by Robinson Mortuary in Little Rock.

Daisy G. Canard

Daisy Goldie (McTigue) Canard, 93, of Pleasant Grove died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006.

She was a cook and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Canrd; parents Finis and Sally Potts McTigue; daughter Sally Sue Corter; son Wimps Ewing Canard; three stepsons; three sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by her daughter Gertrude Broyles; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 17, a Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View.

Burial was at Mount Joy cemetery in Mountain View.

Arrangements were by Roller Coffman Funeral Home in Mountain View.

Ricky Wheeler

Ricky Wheeler, 16, of North Little Rock died Wednesday, October 18, 2006.

He was a student at North Little Rock High School West Campus.

He played baseball for Sylvan Hills Optimist and Sylvan Hills American Legion.

He is survived by his mother Sharie Miller of North Little Rock; father Rick Wheeler and wife of Dallas, Texas; brothers Aaiden Wheeler of Dallas, C.J. Johnson of Hot Springs and Keshawn Reeds of Dallas; sisters Kaylie Jones of Hope, Rosanna Cerrato of Cabot, and Keshaunta Reeds of Dallas; maternal grandparents Jack and Sandy Miller of North Little Rock; and paternal grandparents Freeland and Ellen Wheeler of Wynne.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 21, at New Life Church of Maumelle.

Burial was in Edgewood Memorial Park.

Arrangements were by North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Chauncey Winans

Chauncey Ross Winans, 89, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006.

He worked as a furnace operator at Columbian Carbon Chemical before retiring.

He attended College Avenue Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Alford Winans Sr. and Nora Wooten Winans; sons Cid Ray Winans and Donald Shelton Winans; brothers Arnold Winans, George Winans, Jr., and Thomas V. Winans; and sisters Eloise Gilmore and Marie Bell.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Shelton Winans of El Dorado; son Richard Bruce Winans of Austin; daughters Barbara Gayle Vaseur and husband Donald of Stuttgart, and Melanie Susan Collins and husband Johnnie of Pryor, Okla.; brother Winfred Winans of Strong; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 21, at Perry’s Funeral Chapels in El Dorado.

Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Debbie Reeves

Debbie Reeves, 57, of Conway died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006.

She was a homemaker and member of Cross Point Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a stepson Rusty Reeves.

She is survived by her husband Darrell Reeves; sons Mark Eastham and wife Nancy of Conway, Mike Eastham and wife Charlotte of Cabot; two stepsons David Reeves and wife Lisa of Hurst, Texas, and Darrin Reeves and wife Sherrie of Rockford, Minn.; father Jack Phillips of Little Rock; eight grandchildren; brother Ronnie Phillips and wife Wanda of Corydon, Ind.; and sisters Peggy Whitehurst and husband Doc, and Karen Phillips all of Little Rock.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m. at Pickles Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Hogan, Rev. Mark Lashley and Rev. Geoffrey Gunter officiating.

Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Arrangements were by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
