Reba McKown
Reba Dale McKown, 76, of Rudy died Jan. 30, 2002, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker, member of D.A.V. women's auxiliary, a volunteer worker at the V.A. hospital in Fayetteville and a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie Gentry of Van Buren and Teresa Burnett of Figure Five Community; two sons, Kenneth McKown of Figure Five community and Bert A. McKown of Bond Special Community; one sister, Mildred Goins of Spiro; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Feb. 1 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren.

O.D. Meadors
O.D. Meadors, 80, of Mountainburg died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountainburg, a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II 16th armored division.
Survivors include his wife, Depp Meadors, one son, John S. Meadors of Mountainburg; one sister, Anita Osburn of Mountainburg; two grandchildren, Donny Meadors and Danny Meadors, both of Mountainburg; two nephews, Dale Sebourn of La. and Dobbin Osburn of Mountainburg; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Feb. 2 at Ocker Chapel of Alma. Burial was held at Vaught Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Randall Reed, John Meadors, Eugene Meadors, Ray Meadors, Dale McDaniel ad Doyle Osburn.

Robert Rowden
Robert Joseph Rowden, 71, of Alma died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002. He was a Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a retired employee of Schucks Construction and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Rowden; four daughters, Carolyn Rowden and Vicki Yaeger, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Nancy Rowden and Deven Rowden, both of Alma; five sons, Bobby Rowden Jr., Ronny Rowden, Vince Smith, Vance Smith and Vaughn Smith, all of Alma; three sisters, Mary White and Alma Billington, both of Alma, and Jean Herzog of Danville; three brothers, Tom Rowden of Arizona, Don Rowden and Rich Rowden, both of Alma; and 10 grandchildren, Josh, Michael, Carlos, Ryan, Carneilus, Colby, Emily, Daci, Cardell and Jessica.
Funeral service was held Feb. 1 at Ocker Chapel of Alma. Burial with full military honors will be held at U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Bobby Rowden, Ronny Rowden, Vince Smith, Vaughn Smith, Rich Rowden and Victor Herzog.

Harold Loyd
Harold Loyd, 67, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002. He was an Army veteran, former deputy circuit clerk, county clerk and Crawford County judge. He was a member of Van Buren Masonic Lodge No. 6, County Judge's Association, County Clerk's Association, Cattlemen's Association, Crawford County Fair Association, Crawford County Junior Livestock, Lion's Club, WAEDA, Area Agency on Aging & Comprehensive Juvenile Services and Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Van Buren First Assembly of God. Burial was held at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a daughter, Debra Bridges of Fort Smith; a son, Randy Loyd of Van Buren; a stepson, Kevin Moore of Alma; and four grandchildren, Heather and Chris Bridges, Desirae and Brooklyn Loyd.
Pallbearers were Judge Gary Cottrell, Bill Farrar, Gerald Medlock, Bruce Neidecker, Johnny Parker, Bill Thomas, Judge Joe Powell and Larry McClure.
Honorary pallbearers were Patti Hill, Sammie Page, Dianna Gentry and Tina McAlister, Donnie Easter, Dorvan Wiley, col. Weldon Ramey, Johnny Ragsdale, Jim Medley, Milton Brownlee, Judge Pete Rogers, Wylie Brewer, Bill Edwards, Dean Metheny, Herman Pulse, Herman Kimes, Jim Sargent Jr., Russell Montag, and David Burkhart.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stepping Stone School, P.O. Box 2389, Alma, AR 72923.

Euticha Parker
Euticha Parker, 81, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002. She was a homemaker and a Protestant. She was preceded in death by her husband John Parker.
Survivors include six daughters, Bea Kirkendall of Van Buren, Alfreda Covert of Altus, Alice Fancher and Wanda Rainy, both of Clinton, Geneva Scott of Paris and Pauline King of Big Sandy, Texas, halfbrother, John Gregory of Bakersfield, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Jan. 26 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark. Burial was held at Jackson Cemetery in Ozark.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Dale M. Mills
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren for Dale M. Mills, 39, of Cedarville, whose body was found Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery near Uniontown under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Mills was a graduate of Cedarville High School with the Class of 1981, of the Pentecostal faith and a service technician for Sears.
Survivors include one daughter, Sailon Shay Vernessa Mills of Cedarville; three sons, Darren and Kendale Mills, both of Fort Smith, and J.M. 'John Morton' Mills of Cedarville; his mother, Enda Brown Mills of Van Buren; stepfather, Truman Brown of Van Buren; five sisters, Shelba Brooks, Judy Isenhower, Jan Rofkahr, Yvonne Prescott and Della Goins, all of Van Buren; four brothers, John and Jeryl Mills of Uniontown, Danile Mills of Cedarville and David Mills of Bonanza; one half brother, Johnny Lee Mills of Sacramento, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Mills, Roger Wheless, Doug Morton, Zack Morton, Randy Tankersley and Roscoe Hill.
The family will visit with friends at the home of Yvonne Prescott, 2300 Lexington Drive, Van Buren, and at 11 a.m. Thursday following the funeral at Butterfield Assembly of God Church, 1302 N. 30th St., Van Buren.

Edward Young
Edward Harrison Young, 74, of Mountainburg died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at a local nursing home. He was a retired employee of Kay Chair Co. and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; three daughters, Linda McJunkin of Springdale, Bonnie Owen of El Dorado, Kan., and Debra Denniston of Deer; three sisters, Edessa Ridenoure and Lucille DeVore, both of Mountainburg, and Sylvia Webb of Arlington, Texas; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Jan. 18 at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at Conley Cemetery in Mountainburg.
Pallbearers were Bobby, Rick and Christopher Denniston, Bernie Owen, Rodney Henson and Jack Young.

Faye Martin
Faye Martin, 72, of Fort Smith died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at a local nursing home. She was retired from Midwest Fabric and Sample Company and was of the Church of Christ faith.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence; two sons, Ray Martin of Van Buren and Bobby Dale Martin of Alma; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Jan. 22 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Byron Smith, Jim Jenkins, Ross Griggs, Bob Miller, Rick Walker and Mike Heffley.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association-Western Arkansas Chapter, 320 N. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Lee Roy Stockton
Lee Roy Stockton, 75, of Van Buren died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at a local hospital. He was a retired painter and insulator at Sparks Regional Medical Center, an Army veteran of World War II and attended the Church of Christ.
Memorial service was held Jan. 21 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren with burial of ashes at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. The body was cremated.
He is survived by his wife, Elinor; two daughters, Linda Rhodes of Springdale and Karen McKinley of Van Buren; a brother, Cletus Stockton; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Audrey Arnold
Audrey Arnold, 81, of Los Angeles died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003. She was a native of Van Buren.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Feit of Garden Grove, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service conducted by Pastor Coleman McDuff was held Jan. 8 at Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Bell Gardens, Calif., where she had been a member for more than 50 years.

Charles Moss
Charles L. 'Charlie' 'Chuck' Moss, 65, of Lavaca died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at a Fort Smith hospital. He was a member of Lavaca United Methodist Church, a 1955 graduate of Northside High School and was very active in many sports for many years. He held the Arkansas state record in the discus and shot put.
Memorial service was held Jan. 20 at Lavaca United Methodist Church under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Lavaca. The body was cremated.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; a daughter, Laura Moore of Van Buren; two sons, Ron of Fort Smith and Mike of Lavaca; a brother, Bill Moss of Barling and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lavaca United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 36, Lavaca, AR 72941.

Clyde Harris
Clyde E. Harris, 76, of Clarksville died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at his home. He was a member of Crossroads Assembly of God Church and was a minister for 40 years. .
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Linda Reinholtz of Lowell; a son, LeRoy Harris of Clarksville; three sisters, Zana Harris of Fort Smith, Mary Magby of Mountainburg and Ann Vaughn of Rudy; a brother, Leon Harris of Fort Smith; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Jan. 20 at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Mount Vernon under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home
Pallbearers were Shawn and Roy Harris, Danny Goodin, Carl Sorey, Jim Tong and Kenny Reinholtz.

Reba Smith
Reba Smith, 82, of Kibler died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at her home. She was retired from General Electric, a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the widow of Claude R. Smith Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, LaDonna Moon of Kibler, Janie Lovell of Perryville and Allyson Crabtree of Alma; three sons, Darrel Smith of Marietta, Ga., Mike Smith of Kibler and Barry Smith of Fort Smith; a sister, Irene Burns of Fort Smith; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Jan. 21 at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Mallory and Billy Gallagher, Terry Graves, Tim Smith, Guy Moon and Clay Ramsey.

Clarence Wilcox
Clarence Wilcox, 88, of Dyer died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at an area nursing home. He was the widower of Eva M. Wilcox and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. Mr. Wilcox fought in the Phillippines for two years and was awarded several commendations including the bronze star, combat infantryman's badge, the Phillippine independence ribbon, the good conduct medal and two overseas service bars. He also was a 32nd-degree Mason and was a Democratic Central Committeeman in Crawford County for 35 years.
Survivors include a daugter and son-in-law, Marie and Claudie Hatley of Dyer; and two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Melissa and Ricky Belk of Alma and Lynne and Steve Echols of Fort Smith. He also is survived by a great grandsons and great granddaughter-in-law, Ricky II and Julie Belk; and six other great grandchildren, Joshua Belk of Lavaca, Dustin Glover, Austin Brammer and Matthew Belk, all of Alma; and Laura Beth Echols and Jarrod Echols, both of Fort Smith.
Funeral service was held Jan. 21 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren. Burial with Masonic gravside rites was at New Cemetery in Mulberry.
Active pallbearers were his great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Louis McFarland, Ray Porter, Jake Dyer, Joe Beckham, Joe Kincy, Tom House, Joel Dyer, John Wilcox, Don Wilcox, Dickey Pannell, Billy Gale Morse, Matthew Hankins and Frank Rhodes.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of Western Arkansas, 320 N. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith 72901.

Docia Burrow
Docia Lou Burrow, 78, of Hollister, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, in Hollister. She was a homemaker and member of Abiding In The Vine Worship Center. She and her husband were pastors in central Arkansas for more than 20 years.
Graveside service was held Jan. 14 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home of Branson, Mo.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Ruben Burrow; two daughters, Judy Chittenden of Van Buren and Rebecca Jeanne Overturf of Atoka, Tenn.; two sons, Ruben Wayne Burrow of Visalia, Calif., and Gary Doyle Burrow of Hollister, Mo.; a sister, Emily Haskins of Wildwood, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Vernon Cornett
Vernon Boyd Cornett, 73, of St. Paul died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born at St. Paul, a former resident of Uniontown and a bus driver for Cedarville Public Schools.
Survivors include his wife Joyce Smith Cornett of the home; three sons: Daryl Cornett of Prairie Grove, Robert Cornett of St. Paul and George Cornett of Crosses; one brother, Carey Cornett of Buena Park, Calif.; two sisters, Geraldine Petree of St. Paul and Marguerite Bryant of Uniontown; and four grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Jan. 21 at the St. Paul Full Gospel Church with Pastor Doyle Baker officiating. Burial was Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Donald Smith, Gerald Smith, Cornell Cook, David Johnson, Ronald Baker and Vern Phipps.

Alan Holt
Alan Holt, 61, of Miles City, Mont., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in Miles City. He was born Aug. 8, 1941, in Houston to Ruth Yerby and Herb Holt. He worked for J.S. Carburetor Factory in Dallas for 15 years before moving to Van Buren in 1981. In 1994, he moved to Montana and worked for Eastern Montana Industries.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Yerby Steinfieldt, and his father. He is survived by an aunt, Helen McCann of Billings, Mont., and six cousins, Gayle Cooper and Rex Yerby, both of Van Buren, Bob Jim Yerby and Tom O. Yerby, both of Arkansas, Mary Ann McCullough of Ashland, Montana, and K.L. Bliss of Sand Springs, Mont.
Funeral service was held Jan. 21 at Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Rex, Lance, Sam and Vince Yerby, Ralph Cooper and Don Swaim.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage United Methodist Church, 1604 Pointer Trail, Van Buren AR 72956.
