Nolas Exton Wilson
DANVILLE -- Nolas Exton Wilson, 77, of Danvill, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Born May 8, 1922, in Scott County to the late Elmer and Nettie Millard Wilson, he was a retired minister and a World War II veteran.
Survivors are two sons, Larry Wilson of Belleville and Rick Wilson of Alma; a daughter, Sue Neeley of Ola; a brother, Charlie Wilson of Sand Springs, Okla.; a sister, Beatrice Miller of Danville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Earl Ladd Cemetery with the Rev. Earl Stapleton officiating. Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be open at the funeral home.

Avis Johnson Hyden
CLARKSVILLE -- Avis Johnson Hyden, 78, of Clarksville died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 15, 1921, at Clarksville, the daughter of the late Arch and Clara Hinson Pitts. A retired employee of Hanford and Priebe Processing Plants, she was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Johnson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Delilah Johnson of Clarksville; a stepson, Archie Johnson of Clarksville; a sister, Audrey Carroll of Laverne, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Johnson of New Castle, Okla., five grandchildren, Reg Johnson of Clarksville, Scott and Mark Johnson of New Castle, Lance Johnson of Odessa, Texas; and Leann Gentry of New Castle.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church with burial to follow at East Mount Zion Cemetery in Clarksville with the Rev. Bob Oden and the Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Hardwicke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Reg Johnson, Scott Johnson, Mark Johnson, Lance Johnson, Dave Gentry and John Buffington.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. today at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Alice Evans Taylor
CLARKSVILLE -- Alice Evans Taylor, 95, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville.
She was born July 18, 1904, in Heavener, Okla., the daughter of the late Robert M. and Valeria Roberson Evans. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville and a 50-year member of the Ludwig Home Demonstration Club.
She is survived by two sons, Troy and Forrest Taylor of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Mike Taylor of Morrilton and Mark Taylor of Clarksville; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Burley King officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Clarksville.
Pallbearers will be Phil Taylor, Aubrey Yount, Ewell Sexton, Norman Sexton, Alva Taylor and Dan Leeds.

Arvazean Hunter
Arvazean Hunter, 62, of Phoenix, formerly of Russellville, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
She was born May 13, 1937, at Dover to the late W.C. and Willie McAlister Hill. She was a 1955 graduate of Russellville High School and had worked as an administrator with Cargill Industries for more than 24 years, having retired in 1997. She was a past member of the board of directors of the Arkansas Pork Producers Association and a past president of Arkansas Democratic Women.
Mrs. Hunter was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Russellville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Vorea Tackett.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Hunter of Phoenix; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Robert Riley of Phoenix and Marsha and Gary Rasdon of Russellville; four grandchildren, Melissa Connerly of Phoenix, Daniel and Bryan Connerly of Russellville and Garren Rasdon, also of Russellville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jack and Marilyn Hill and Leland Hill of Russellville; and five nieces and nephews.
Funeral service details will be announced later by Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 225 Skyline Drive, Russellville 72802.

Tommy Lee Hale
DANVILLE -- Tommy Lee Hale, 64, of Plainview died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock.
Born March 14, 1935, at Briggsville to the late Henry Clinton Hale, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated Hale Logging and Sawmill.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orn and Ive Lee Hale, and a sister, Ila Grace Hale.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Travis Hale; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Alan Hale of Plainview and Tommy and Samantha Hale Jr. of Rover; a daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Rick Shelton of Plainview; his mother, Oma Driskoll Hale Vineyard of Plainview; a brother, Billy Joe Hale of Plainview; a grandson, Travis A. Hale of Rover; and two nieces, Sandra Smith and Nancy Sanderson, both of Plainview.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ola Church of Christ with Walter Golding officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery at Plainview with Cornwell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville.

Tennie Wilker
Tennie Wilker, 79, of Russellville died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Stella Manor Nursing Center in Russellville.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Shinn Funeral Home.

James H. Wright
DARDANELLE -- James H. Wright, 80, of Dardanelle died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Veterans Administration Hospital at Little Rock.
Born Jan. 30, 1919, at Macon City, Mo., he was the son of the late Alex and Birdie Wright. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Special Forces Unit of the Merrills Marauders receiving the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and CBI (China, Burma, India) Medal. A lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and 32nd Division Veteran Association, he was a Master Mason and member of Masonic Lodge 8 at Trenton, Mich.
Mr. Wright retired as director of environmental control from McLouth Steel Corp. in 1979.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Ermine Wright, and three sisters, Nellie Sullivan, Louisa Brunner and Francis Roe.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Wright; two sons, Danny Wright of Conyers, Ga., and James Wright II of Russellville; two daughters, Karen Wright of Conyers, Ga., and Sharon Dettloff of Gibraltor, Mich.; a brother, Harold Wright of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; and three sisters, Arlene Brewer of Commerce City, Colo., and Ruby Wooten and Margie Corn of Excello, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Nov. 14 at Woodville Baptist Church in Woodville, Mo. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association.
