Connie L. Bodkin, 80, of east Mesa, died April 2, 2003, in Mesa. Ms. Bodkin, a homemaker, was born in Pima, Ariz. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Burgess and Pat Pepe; son Phil Burris; sisters Mable Allred and Iola Brown; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to: Arizona Humane Society, 9226 N. 13th Ave., Phoenix AZ 85021. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care handled arrangements.

Sadie Burns, 90, of Youngtown, died March 31, 2003. Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., she is survived by her sons, David and Glenn; daughter, Marian Remington of Sun City; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several step-children and step-grandchildren. Sunland Mortuary.

Florence C. Eckert, 92, of Sun City, died March 29, 2003. She moved to Arizona from Westfield, N.J. Sunland Mortuary.

Jim Everhart, 66, of Surprise, an insurance salesman, died April 3, 2003. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Deanne Cooper and Molly Underwood; son, Rod; mother, Beulah Everhart; one brother, two sisters and five grandchildren.

Lester C. Laatsch, 87, of Sun City, an insurance data processor, died March 28, 2003. Born in Wisconsin, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Laatsch is survived by his wife, Isabel. Menke Funeral Home.

Charles Robert Royle, 73, of Sun City, a machinist, died March 28, 2003. Born in Pennsylvania, he served in the military during the Korean conflict. Mr. Royle is survived by his wife, Dorothy. Menke Funeral Home.

Amelia J. Slusher, 76, of Youngtown, a beautician, died March 27, 2003. Born in Indiana, she is survived by her son, Charles. Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services.

George R. Spangrude, 91, of Sun City, a service station owner, died March 31, 2003. Born in Montana, he is survived by his wife, Viola; sons, George, Gene and Gerald; two sisters, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services.

Franz H. Tyaack, 75, of Sun City West, a CEO of Westinghouse Canada, died March 25, 2003. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., he is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Jan Nall and Patti Tyaack; one brother and two grandchildren. Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel.

Jessie Mae White, 89, of east Mesa, died March 27, 2003, in Mesa. Ms. White, a homemaker, was born in Burkburnett, Texas. She is survived by her daughters Georgia Lindee, Wanda Cordes, Margie Pena, Wilma Smith, and Terry White, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Jack R. DuBoce, 78, of east Mesa, died March 28, 2003, in Mesa. Mr. DuBoce, a machinist supervisor for Caterpillar Corp. and U.S. Navy WWII veteran, was born in Oakland, Calif. He is survived by his son Bill and brother Frank. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care handled arrangements.

Victoria M. Shelley, 82, of east Mesa, died March 28, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Shelley, owner/operator of Wholesale Seafood Co., was born in Billings, Mont. She is survived by her son Geoff Gifford and his wife Louise; three grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Apache Junction Mortuary handled arrangements.

Maida A. Maynard, of east Mesa, died March 29, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Maynard's age was not provided at the family's request. Mrs. Maynard, a homemaker, was born in Gregory, Mich. She is survived by her husband Ken; daughters Sue Brogan, Collen Heffernan, and Bonnie Brogan-Vanzwoll; sons Chris, Steve and Brian Brogan and five grandchildren.
