Venable, Pearl Marie passed away on November 20, 2004 in Roseville, CA at the age of 72 years. Pearl was born December 15, 1931 in Branson, MO; she was a resident of Rocklin, CA for the past nine years. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years Richard Venable; her loving children Michael (Paula), Steven (Christina), David (Nancy) Sheree (Michael) and surrogate son/nephew Alan Otten (Pam) and their three children. She is also survived by her brother William “Bud” Pleake; her ten grandchildren, Melissa, Christina, Amanda, Scott, Lorina, Sarah, Kyle, Michelle, Aaron, Erin; her two great-grandchildren Alyssa and Dante and numerous nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by her father Chessley Pleake, her mother Wreatha Pleake and her sister Lona Pleake. Pearl was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all. Jesse Lopez

Jesse Lopez a resident of Manteca for one year, formerly of the East Bay, entered into rest at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton on Sunday, July 15, 2001. He was born in Tracy, CA on October 15, 1927, he was 73 years of age. Jesse loved children. He loved building things with his hands. He served his country in the Military and worked for the dept. of Motor Vehicles and made many friends. He always had a smile and loved to tell jokes. He was the most loving grandparent and raised many in his own home. He is survived by his children, Cindy Jardin of Castro Valley, Rick Harris of Idaho and Wendell Harris of Montana. Brother of Louise of Stockton, Loretta, Josie, Suzie all of Tracy, Tom of Lockeford, Joe and Timmy of Tracy, Vincent of Stockton, Martin and Raymond both of Tracy.

Helen Willey Wyss
August 28 1932 - November 30 2004

Stacy (Helen Willey) Wyss passed died in Oakland, California on Nov. 30, 2004. She was the mother of Dennis Wyss, of Davis, California and Jessica Wyss Guaragna, of Scottsdale, Arizona. She was the mother-in-law of Ann Senuta, of Davis, California and Fred Guaragna, of Scottsdale, California; sister of Caroline Willey Hansen, of Aptos, California and Deborah Willey McCabe, of Orinda, California; sister-in-Law of Howard Hansen, of Aptos, California and Gene McCabe, of Orinda, California
She was the grandmother of Nicholas Guaragna & Sophia Guaragna, of Scottsdale, Arizona and Julian Wyss, of Davis, California. She was the daughter of the late James B. Willey & Genevra Shuey Willey, of Piedmont, California and the Great Grand Niece of the late Ednah Shuey Parker, of Berkeley, California.

A native of San Diego, California, she was 72 years of age.

She was member of the Walnut Creek Historical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Diablo Sailing Club, Concord Seniors, and the Young Republicans. She descended from the Walnut Creek pioneer family of Homer Stowe Shuey. Private family services have been held. The family requests donation to a favorite charity.

William F. Hall
November 14 1941 - December 9 2004

Hall, William F. “Bill” entered into rest on Thursday December 9th, 2004 in Fremont after a short and sudden illness. Beloved husband of Margie Hall of Fremont; Loving father of Tracy Tyson & her husband Scott of Loves Park, IL, and Richard Hall and his wife Carolyn of Tracy, CA; Caring brother of Sue Strobel of ID, Lori Stewart of OR, Kenny Hall of Galt, CA, Jimmy Stewart of IN, Dan Stewart of OR, and Randy Stewart of OR; Cherished grandfather of Gregory Jacobo, Marissa Jacobo, Alexandria Hall, and Cassidy Hall.
Bill retired from SBC at the end of July. He loved camping and traveling. He had plans to spend time traveling with his wife in there RV. A very active man who loved his family dearly. He was a loving husband, caring father, and gentle grandfather. He also loved to garden and was thought of as quite the handyman. Bill was admired by all of his coworkers

Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 14, 2004 from 5:30 to 8:30 at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 15, 2004 at 5:00 PM at the above mentioned funeral home.

James T. Bunton

BUNTON, JAMES T. entered into rest January 6, 2005 in Sacramento at the age of 67. Born October 2, 1937 a native of Walterboro, SC. A resident of Antelope for 17 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara Bunton, his children Stacey Hanson and David Bunton, his siblings Lloyd Bunton, Gene Bunton, Rick Bunton, Patsy Hilton and Joe Bunton. James is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica and Courtney Hanson and numerous nieces and nephews. HAYNES, DOLLY C. entered into rest Thursday, December 30, 2004 at age 59. A native of Des Moines, Iowa she was born Wednesday, October 22, 1945 and a resident of Sacramento for 47 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years James E. Haynes. Her devoted children Kenya (Tracy) Williams, and Christine (Ed) Fowler. She was a loving grandmother to Martin, Nakeisha, Marquis, Dequwan, and Mikala. A darling sister of Mae D., Marilyn, Babe Marie, Icey, Donnie, Sylvester, Shirley, Joy and Bonnie (Smith Clan). She is preceded in death by her parents: Honor Dewayne and Idella Mae Smith and her granddaughter Jamie Monique Smith. She was a member of the Victory Temple Pentecostal Church. HOYT, JOHN CHRISTIAN Entered into rest January 3, 2005 in Sacramento at the age of 61 years. Born March 26, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI. Survived by his loving wife of 39 years Victoria Hoyt. Loving father of Reynold and Andres Hoyt, brother of Diane, David and Jimmy Hoyt. Also survived by his grandchildren Paul, Evan, and Taylor Hoyt and great-grandchildren Kaylana and Kaili Hoyt. John served in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. Sheryl Lyn Baxter-McCord
March 27 1962 - December 31 2004

Baxter-McCord, Sheryl Lyn passed from this world into heaven on Friday, December 31, 2004 at the age of 42. She was born Tuesday, March 27, 1962 and was a life time resident of Rio Linda, California. She enjoyed working for the Rio Linda School District and loved life. She is survived by her husband Joe McCord, daughter Brandi Lyn Baxter, stepdaughter Michelle McCord, stepson Mark McCord and step grandchildren Alexis, Luke and Logan McCord. She is also survived by her father and mother Bobby and Elaine Baxter and brother Ryan Baxter. She will be greatly missed by friends and family and all of those who loved her. Services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 2:00pm at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes 4701 Marysville Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95838. Estelle Walker
March 21 1916 - July 13 2001

Estelle Walker a Hayward resident entered into rest July 13, 2001 in Hayward. Born in Austin, TX on March 21, 1916, she was 85 years of age. Estelle loved helping others. She was known as “G-Mama” to many children. She was a faithful Missions worker and member of the Mothers Board at Glad Tidings church COGIC.
Loving mother of Mary Lee Simpson of Union City. Dear sister of Ada Moore of San Mateo, CA, Novella Jordan of Ceres, CA, Mildred Polk of Modesto, CA, and Geneva Houston of Austin, TX. Devoted grandmother of fourteen grandchildren. She was Preceded by her husband of 60 years George Walker.

Visitation will be held July 19th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Glad Tidings Church, 27689 Tyrell Ave. in Hayward. Friends are welcome to attend a graveside service July 20th at 10:30 a.m at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home.

Flora Martin
March 26 1908 - January 21 2005

Flora Leona Martin died peacefully at her home in San Leandro, California on Friday, January 21, 2005. She was 96 years old.
Flora was born on March 24, 1908 in Stoddard County, Missouri near the town of Dexter. As a young adult, Flora worked as a doctor’s assistant and her love of music blossomed into a job singing on the radio. She moved to California in the 1940’s and ran a boarding house in San Francisco for a few years. She then moved to the East Bay where she spent the remainder of her life. She was very active in the East Bay’s business and philanthropic communities. She owned a successful dress shop called Mode-O-Day in Foothill Square for a number of years. She was a member of the Foothill Chapter #433 of the Eastern Star since joining in 1965. She was also active with the Daughters of the Nile. She headed up a committee to sew for children receiving treatment at the Shiners’ Burn Center.

Flora’s main passions were her family and friends. She was the first to be there to celebrate the joys and the last to leave when anyone needed care or consolation. She enjoyed traveling to visit relatives in Missouri, Florida and all over California. She also loved music and gardening. In addition, she was quite an accomplished seamstress and made several formal dresses for family members.

Flora is survived by her two grandchildren, Cathy Rumble of South Lake Tahoe, CA and Robert Green of Oakland, CA; great-grandchildren Kari Pileggi of San Diego, CA, Jeremy Rumble of South Lake Tahoe, CA, Trent and Shane Green of Oakland, CA; her step-sons, Jerry Martin of Oakland, CA and Craig Martin of Sacramento, CA; step-mother Opal Ellsworth of Campbell, MO; half-sister Bonnie Akridge of Campbell, MO; half-brothers Edmond, George, and Morris Ellsworth of Malden, MO; half-brother Buford Ellsworth of St. Louis, MO and half-brother Robert Ellsworth of Granite City, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hollis Spurling, Theodore Lindquist and Donn Martin; parents, George and Pearl Ellsworth; brother, Lloyd and sister, Beaula Ellsworth; son, Hollis “Buddy” Spurling; daughters, Elvera Spurling and Marilyn Green; and granddaughter Linda Mell.

A memorial will be held on Friday, February 4, 2005 at 1:30 at Chapel of the Chimes 32992 Mission Blvd Hayward, CA 94544 (510) 471-3363

BOZEMAN, SHARRON G. entered into rest January 24, 2005 in Sacramento at the age of 54. Born September 29, 1950 a native of Louisiana. A resident of Sacramento for 42 years. She is survived by her daughter Megan Mahoney, her mother Cathe Smith, her brothers Larry and Curtis Bozeman and sister Janet Arnold. Sharron is also survived by her grandchildren Cheyanne Bozeman, Clifford Hildbrand II, Alexandra and Jamie Dunton, 3 nieces, 3 nephews and her beloved pet Sassy. George W. Huckabay
June 1 1925 - January 12 2005

Huckabay, George W entered into rest on January 12, 2005 at the age of 79. George was Born in Norphlet Arkansas on June 1, 1925. Loving husband of Kathy Huckabay; Caring father of Bill Huckabay; Cherished grandfather of Lisa and David Huckabay. George served in the Pacific during WWII and attended the University of Colorado after his discharge. He worked for Lawrence Livermore Labs for over thirty years, retiring in 1990. George and Kathy were married in 1979.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday January 18, 2005 at 2:00 at Cedar Grove Community Church, 2021 College Ave Livermore, Ca 94550. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to can make a donation to the church. interment at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Hayward.

He is preceded into the Eternal by his parents, 5 brothers and 7 sisters. He was employed by Kay Chesterfield Mfg for 40 years. The Pall bearers are Earl Wallis Jr, Jesse Wold, Howard Heavin, Gene Thorson, Jess White, Sam Sayad.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday Jan 21, 2005 at 10:30 Am at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to Hope Hospice 6500 Dublin Blvd Suite 100 Dublin 94568.
