I'm Free
Don't grieve for me,
For now I'm free.
I'm following the path
God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much.
Good friends, good times,
A loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me.
God wanted me now.
He set me free.

Annie continued her work in the missionary field. Other churches were founded in Grant, Okla.; El Paso, Texas; and Albuquerque, N.M. Some of these churches are still standing today. Annie was a diligent worker for the Lord. She worked in the auxiliaries of the church such as prayer and Bible band, Sunday school, home and foreign missions and the evangelist department. Mother Alexander was also blessed to become a district missionary. She was later married to Cordell Alexander, who preceded her in death. The loss of a mate was not a detour to her call from God. She continued traveling and sharing the gospel with all those who would receive her. To be close to her baby, Anita Elizabeth, more affectionately known as Peaches, she moved to California. While in California, she united with the Tried Stone Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder C.L. Qualls. She was a worker in the local, district and region. Most of us here today can testify about the revivals. Mother Alexander taught Sunday school; ran revivals, local, district and regional; worked with the Mothers Board and the Evangelist Board. She attended morning prayer and worked with the seekers. Mother Alexander was yet a member of the Tried Stone Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent E.L. White. She ran some revivals and traveled across the country on the Greyhound bus. Mother Alexander worked until the day was done. She worked until the Lord called her home to rest. Mother Alexander touched many lives and because she lived, many learned the joy that comes with knowing Jesus as a deliverer and savior. We know how to appreciate God and love Him for who He is, not for what He can give. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Anita Elizabeth Biddings of Oxnard; granddaughter, Patricia Lee Hunyon of Detroit, Mich.; great-grandchildren, Marvin Lamar Jones of Oxnard, Robert Anthony Jones of Oxnard, Elaine Williams of Los Angeles, Michael Jackson of Sacramento, John Earl Jackson of Sacramento, Elizabeth Jackson of Detroit, Mich., Bobby Jackson of Detorit, Mich., and Robin Jackson of Oxnard; 25 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and church family. A thank-you goes out to Sister Ethelene Just, who took Mother to doctor's appointments when she was physically able. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Sister Mary Anger, who took special care of Mother Alexander and demonstrated love in action. Thanks is extended to all of the saints for their continuous prayers. A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Tried Stone Church of God in Christ, 1350 E. Channel Islands Blvd. Arrangements are under the direction of Garcia Mortuary, (805) 486-9148.

I believe in mystery
And miracles and the magic
Of a new day
I believe in angels

And the beauty inside people
I believe in rainbows
And happy endings
And dreams-come-true
