Funeral services were held Monday in Napa. Interment was in
Tulocay Cemetery.
Nevada County - Sacramento Bee, June 26, 1952 POLGLASE - In Nevada City, Nevada County, June 23, 1952, Laura Polglase of Nevada City, wife of Thomas of Nevada City, mother of Gladys and Albert of Nevada City and Robert of San Rafael, sister of Mrs. Emily Sandow and Mrs. Alma Renfree of Nevada City and Mrs. Edith Polglase of Grass Valley, aged 72 years. Funeral services were yesterday in the Bergemann Funeral Chapel, Rev. Max L. Christensen, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church officiating, and Evangeline Chapter No. 9, Order of Eastern Star conducting the rites. Burial was in the Forest View Cemetery. Nevada County - Nevada City Daily Union, March 9, 1906 POLGLASE - Thos. H. Polglase Is No More - Worked Here For Many Years - Leaves A Wife And A Number Of Children. Date of Funeral Later. Yesterday afternoon death claimed the soul of Thomas Henry Polglase, who had been suffering from an attack of pneumonia less than a week. Mr. Polglase was about town last Friday. He was stricken Saturday morning and rapidly grew worse until death relieved his sufferings. Thomas Henry Polglase was one of the best known miners in this district, having lived here and followed his vocation for many years. He was an honest, straightforward man and had a wide circle of friends, who will be pained to learn of his death. Deceased was born in England and was aged fifty-nine years. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and the following children: Thomas, John, Helen, Vinnie, Annie, Hazel, Benjamin, Frank, Richard and an infant nine months old. Benjamin and Frank Polglase are at present living in Arizona. The date for the funeral has not been set. Funeral serives (sic) were held yesterday in Nevada City. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mrs. Whipple, who died at her home Wednesday night, was a native of Kentucky and had resided in San Diego 25 years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Cinnamon; two sisters, Miss Chloe Rogers, and Miss Ethel Rogers, three brothers, Winfield, Crit and Hardy Rogers and two grandchildren. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial park. Mr. Wilson died at his home, 4645 Harvey rd. , Thursday. An accountant, he retired 12 years ago. He was born in Troy, O., and came to San Diego from Santa Barbara 28 years ago. Mrs. Wilson was a member of San Diego Elks lodge and the I. O. O. F. lodge, Troy. Knippenburg, former pastor of the German Lutheran church here, died Thursday in Los Angeles after a long illness, friends were advised yesterday. He had served the local pastorate 16 years and moved ot Los Angeles 4 years ago. Services will be held Thursday, 2:30 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran church Los Angeles.
