Myrah Leland Marshall
Passed away May 17, 2003. She was born in New York City on March 20, 1909. She was the wife of the late Walter Leonard Marshall. She is survived by her devoted daughter Ilona Marshall. Aileen Ermenia Garzoli Walline
Died peacefully, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, surrounded by her family in Novato on May 19, 2003 at the age of 80. Aileen was born to Arnold and Ermenia Garzoli on June 29, 1922, in Petaluma, the second of four children. The Bay Area was Aileen's home for her entire life. She attended Bolinas Grammar School, graduated from Tamalpais High School and went on to earn a business degree from Heald Business College. She went into the field of banking as an executive secretary for First National Bank and retired from Wells Fargo Bank after a 30 year career in banking. Aileen married Edward Balz in 1944. She and Edward had one daughter Lynne at the time of Edward's death in 1952. During her marriage she socialized with Paul Walline and his family, Paul would later become her husband in 1956. While sharing their lives and 47 years of marriage, the Walline's participated in Marriage Encounter, Cancer Walks for Life, and the Presbyterian Church. When Aileen was not gardening or volunteering at the Lu Sutton School or Hill Middle School she was the Entertaining Diva cooking for family and friends, especially her scrumptious desserts, her Suisse Kirkley will be especially missed. Aileen's presence will be missed most by her loving devoted family: her husband Paul Walline; son Millard Walline and his wife Susan of Vacaville, daughter Lynne Guzman and husband Nick of Novato, daughter Cathy Rhodes of Modesto; grandson Ron Kohl of American Canyon, granddaughter Jessica Walline of Dixon, grandson John Paul Rhodes of Modesto, granddaughter Rebecca Rhodes of Modesto, grandson Devin Guzman of Novato; nephew Adolf Kuck and wife Diane of Petaluma; grandnephew Arnie Kuck of Concord, sister-in-law Louise Balz of Gresham, Oregon; sister-in-law Margaret Hinkins and husband Hal of Peoria, AZ; nephew John Balz and wife Delilah of Maryland, nephew Al Baltz and wife Pam of Alamo; nephew Fred Burns and wife Robin of San Mateo; niece Merrie Seal and husband Ted of Gresham, OR; grandniece Julia Seal of Gresham, OR; grandnephew Matthew Seal also of Gresham and grandnephew Jack Burns of San Mateo. Aileen was preceded in death by her first husband Edward Balz and by her grandson Kenneth Walline of Vacaville. Catherine M. Larrowe
Passed away Monday, May 19, 2003 in Vacaville surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Frank Larrowe; loving mother of Anne Mitchell of Santa Rosa; Kevin Larrowe of Baltimore, Maryland; Mary Jo Howe of Pacific Grove; and Maureen Jordan of Vacaville; dear sister of Margaret McGee and Geraldine Tobin both of Florida; and Thomas O'Farrell of Las Vegas, Nevada; also survived by nine grandchildren. She was a native of Illinois. Catherine was one of the founding members of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Women's Club that was involved in building Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel School and a volunteer for many years for Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Salvage Shop in Mill Valley. Catherine would like to walk on the nature paths here in Southern Marin, walking to Bay Side Park in Mill Valley and Tiburon Bay Park to look out at the water, birds, flowers, and to smell the fresh air. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass Sunday, May 25, 2003 at 12 Noon at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church. interment private Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. Sonja Bromberger
Passed away on May 21, 2003 in San Rafael peacefully. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends at A & W Restaurant. She is survived by William, Nancy, Steve and Romy, and three grandchildren, Elizabeth, David and Mike Bromberger Services will be on May 25th, Sunday morning, at 10:30 AM at Eternal Home Cemetery, Colma, California.

David E. Gibbs
Passed away from cancer at home on May 18, 2003, at the age of 83, after a long illness. David is survived by his loving wife Patricia of 57 years. His two daughters Diana Bishop (Bill) and Deborah Colpitts ( Bob) were devoted to their father taking care of him during his last few months. He also leaves five wonderful grandchildren: Cynthia and David Bishop, and Michael, Catherine and Christopher Colpitts. David, born in Washington State, moved to Watsonville California at a young age. He was a Navy pilot in both World War II and the Korean War, and graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked and retired from Spreckels Sugar Co. and continued with his own consulting business which he loved doing for many years. David lived in Sleepy Hollow for 50 years, and was a Fire Commissioner for 25 years. He loved travel, skiing and tennis. He will be missed by all. A Memorial to Celebrate His Life will be held Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Chapel of the Hills, 330 Redhill Avenue, San Anselmo. Elizabeth K. Hamstra
Passed away on May 15, 2003 at the age of 88. Born Elizabeth Kuntz in St. Louis, MO on January 26, 1915, Lib grew up in St. Louis, attended Mary Institute and Washington University and earned a B.A. from Oberlin College and an M.A. in Psychology from the University of Iowa. She married in 1939, to R. Hollis Hamstra. The family moved to San Rafael in 1948, which became her home for the rest of her life. While raising a family of five children, she returned to school in the early 1960's to earn a teaching credential. She subsequently became a first grade teacher and reading specialist in the Dixie School District, where she taught until her retirement in 1979. She was particularly known for her love of nature, nurturing in generations of Dixie students an appreciation for the world around them through her well known creek walks and similar activities. In retirement, Lib continued to be actively involved in enriching the lives of Bay Area children and sharing with them her enthusiasm for Marin's varied natural environments. Working with Elizabeth Terwiliger's WildCare and with the Bay Shore Studies Program at the Tiburon Audubon Center, she introduced another generation of school children to the animal and plant life of Marin's bayshores, ocean beaches and redwood forests. Lib is survived by her five children, Robert H. Hamstra, Jr. of San Jose, Joan H. Story of Oakland, Richard A. Hamstra of Novato, Susan Hamstra of San Rafael and John A. Hamstra of Santa Cruz, and also by nine grandchildren. A Family Memorial Gathering is being planned. The family suggests donations in Lib's memory be made to WildCare or to the Tiburon Audubon Center at 376 Greenwood Beach Road, Tiburon.

Betty Lou Larsen
Passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at her home in Novato from renal failure. She was 71 years of age and a native of St. Paul, Minnesota. Betty was in the banking industry for 35 years working for Wells Fargo as a Loan Document Reviewer and International Auditor. She was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church, Republican Women's Club, Novato Seniors and Retired Wells Fargo Seniors. She is survived by her children Lynda Larsen Habedanck (Gary), Evelyn Larsen Jenkins (Rick), Louise Larsen Hankes (Bill) and Leonard Allen Larsen, her seven grandchildren and beloved aunt Eleanor Thompson. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, corner of San Marin Drive and Novato Blvd. in Novato. Beverly (Pudge) Delmas Bosque
Passed away in Novato, on May 18, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Donald J. Bosque; loving mother of Father Peter Bosque, Dominic and wife Kathie Bosque; Dona Bosque; Pamela and husband Kevin Conklin; Debra and husband Scott Evans. Dear grandmother of: Katie Zack, Erica, Veronica, and Alexica Bosque; Katie and Kasey Conklin; and Bradley and Emily Evans. Loving sister of Leonard and Patti Delmas, and devoted friend of the Erickson's, Larson's, Olivier's, Purcell's, and Maureen Sullivan. She was a native of San Francisco, attended St. Rose Academy and Seattle U. She taught school at Our Lady of Loretto for many years, and as a substitute taught for Novato School District, CCD Coordinator for ST. Sylvester's and St. Sebastian's. She was a member of Novato Parks and Recreation Commission for 12 years. She loved teaching, children's books, and sports; and she had a "good" life. A Vigil will be held at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Keaton's Redwood Chapel in Novato. A Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 22, 2003 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1000 Cambridge, Novato. interment will be private. Michelle Marie Davies
Passed away on May 17, 2003 by tragic accident SCUBA diving near Catalina Island. Born on January 9, 1978, Michelle is survived by her loving parents Michael and Rosemarie Davies of San Rafael, sister Alexis, grandparents Mitchell and Ethel Davies, Richard Pilewicz, and Valentina and Peter Coleman; uncles Christopher, Joseph and Richard, and Auntie Diane, along with other loving family members and many dear friends. Raised in Marin County, Michelle lived in San Diego for the past seven years. She was a graduate with honors from Marin Catholic High School in 1996, a graduate of the University of California at San Diego in 2000, and a graduate as Juris Doctor from the U.C. San Diego Law School, May 2003. She was to celebrate her graduation with her family and friends...until this tragic accident took her young life. Michelle had a passion for environmental issues, including a great love of the ocean and animal life. She was a person of strong convictions, an advocate for the underdog. She always made time for others; she volunteered her time generously. Michelle believed that one person can make a difference. Michelle was an amateur photographer, a consummate baseball fan, and a lover of books. Michelle overcame many challenges but succeeded immensely in her short lifetime. Friends and family remember her as a happy, energetic, enthusiastic person who uplifted those around her. She was a glowing spirit. A Wake will be held for Michelle on Thursday (today), May 22nd at 7:30 PM, Halsted N. Gray-Carew & English Funeral Home, 1123 Sutter Street, San Francisco. A Funeral will be held on Friday, May 23rd at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, 245 Valencia Street, San Francisco at 11:30 AM. Donations may be made in Michelle's name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, San Francisco.

John Rupe Everingham
John R. Everingham passed away peacefully in Novato, California on April 30, 2003, from pneumonia and after suffering many years with Alzheimers. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann, and their four children, Karen Winston, Jay Everingham, Susan Everingham, and Jane Everingham O'Malley along with their respective families including five grandchildren and two cats. John also leaves behind a younger sister, Nancy McClure; brother, Charles Everingham and their respective families. Born in Fort Madison, Iowa along the Mississippi River, August 14, 1933, John quickly and easily learned to love fishing, camping, and the outdoors. These, as well as his enjoyment of music, a beautiful sunset, and a great bottle of wine, are gifts he gave his children. A graduate of the University of Iowa with a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering, John was a wonderful family provider and husband. He spent 27 years of his business career working for the Chevron Chemical Company as a Chemical Engineer, retiring in 1985. Remembered as a gracious and joyful host, with a charming smile, John will be missed by all his family and friends. Arthur Howard Hedvall
July 16, 1942 - May 8, 2003
Arthur Howard Hedvall was born at the University of California Hospital in San Francisco on July 16, 1942 to parents Arthur and Mary Hedvall. He grew up in Daly City and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1959. While attending high school, Arthur started working in the laundry at the same hospital where he was born. Arthur began his career as an apprentice electrician. He attended classes at City College in San Francisco and became a licensed electrical contractor. Arthur was a member of the Army Reserves and was on active duty during the Watts' riots crises in Southern California. Arthur lived all of his adult life in Marin County. He established a very successful business as an electrical contractor and was highly regarded in his trade. He was a member of the electrician's union and the Builders Exchange in Marin County. One of his more exciting jobs as a young electrician was the original installation of the lighting in Candlestick Park. Arthur was an avid sportsman. He became an expert snow skier and hosted annual family trips to his cabin in North Shore, Lake Tahoe. For several years he had a boat and a home on the Delta where his family enjoyed water skiing. He enjoyed racket ball, swimming, biking, scuba diving and camping. He has been a member of the Elk's Lodge #1108 San Rafael for 12 years. Arthur is survived by his wife of 13 years, Janis McLennan Hedvall of San Anselmo, California. They enjoyed all of the outdoor activities as well as extensive traveling together. Arthur is also survived by his sister, Johanna Harra of Aptos, California. He leaves behind his two nephews, Jeff Harra of Aptos and Nate Harra and his wife Nicole of San Francisco. He was a strong mentor to his two nephews in all of the outdoor activities they enjoyed together. He had four great nieces, Ashley, Melanie, and Katie Harra of San Francisco and Evelynn Harra of Santa Cruz. He is also survived by many dear cousins who were an integral part of his life since childhood. Above all, Arthur loved his home and family; he and his wife Janis were the center of an enduring and loving extended family. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Hills, 330 Redhill Avenue, San Anselmo, CA 94960, 415-453-8440.
