Thomas Clark, 46

LEUCADIA - Thomas Daniel Clark, 46, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, of a heart attack, in Balboa Park.

Born March 9, 1953, in Washington, D.C., he lived in Leucadia for 20 years.

Mr. Clark is survived by his mother and father, Shirley and Bob Clark of Mechanicsville, Md.; sons Travis Clark and Tory Clark, both of Mancos, Colo.; brothers and sisters-in-law Steve and Joni Clark of DeKalb, Ill., Don Clark of Waldorf, Md., and Greg and Kathy Clark of Daly City; sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Byren Harder of Charlotte Hall, Md.; three nephews; and four nieces.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 6, at Clinton, Md. Lee Funeral Home. A funeral followed with the Rev. William Cleary officiating. Burial took place at Clinton Resurrection Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations to Thomas D. Clark Memorial Fund, PO Box 776, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.

Johnny Cantabrana, infant

ESCONDIDO - Johnny Manuel Cantabrana, six months, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in Escondido.

Born Aug. 4, 1999, in Escondido, he lived in Escondido for six months.

Johnny is survived by his mother and father, Shannon and Johnny Cantabrana of Escondido; grandparents John and Julie Villalobos of San Pasqual Reservation, Robert Farley of Vista, Terri Farley of Escondido and John Cantabrana of Vista; aunts Joanna Williams and Lorraine Bagby, both of Escondido, and Natalie Villalobos of San Pasqual Reservation; uncles Isaac Villalobos of San Pasqual Reservation, Quinn Cantabrana and Lucas Cantabrana, both of Vista, and cousin Alyssa Williams of Escondido.

Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at San Pasqual Reservation Tribal Hall. A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m., also at the Tribal Hall. Burial will follow at San Pasqual Reservation Cemetery.

Alhiser-Comer Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Dennis James, 59

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Dennis Leland James, 59, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in St. George, Utah.

Born Dec. 7, 1941, in the French Hospital in Los Angeles, he attended school in Carlsbad, Oceanside and Escondido. He served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a chief petty officer in 1978 after 20 years. He was a copy machine repairman with several companies.

Mr. James is survived by his parents, Barbara and Dutton James of Fallbrook; brother David James of St. George; sister Candis Guy of Oceanside; niece Sheri Mahr of Fallbrook; and grandnieces Karissa, Trisha and Katrina Mahra, all of Fallbrook.

A private cremation is planned with cremains to be scattered at sea by the U.S. Navy.

Edith Lambeth, 86

RAMONA - Edith J. Lambeth, 86, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at a local hospital.

Born June 27, 1913, in Newark, N.J., she lived in Ramona for 19 years. She was a graduate of Oklahoma College for Women where she received honors for horsemanship. She taught elementary school and was a secretary for Prudential Insurance Co., retiring in 1973 in Ventura. She was a member of the Ramona First Christian Church.

Ms. Lambeth is survived by her brothers, Burton C. Risser Sr. of Fallbrook and Warren H. Risser of Santa Barbara; sisters Carol Yochim of Ramona and Betty Westhoff of Jackson, Miss.; and 15 nephews and nieces.

A private service is planned with inurnment to take place at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations to the People Helping People Cancer Support Group, c/o Ellie Whitcomb, 20997 Black Canyon Road, Ramona, CA 92065; or to the Ramona Boys & Girls Club, PO Box 1915, Ramona, CA 92065.

Courtney Ezell, 48

RANCHO BERNARDO - Courtney Dana Ezell, 48, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000.

Born July 1, 1951, in Palo Alto, she lived in Rancho Bernardo. She was a mortgage lender at The Mortgage Outlet for 25 years.

Mrs. Ezell is survived by her companion, Jancie Marie Ezell of San Diego; son Christopher Brandon Ezell of San Diego; daughter Zoe Margaret Ezell of San Diego; and brother William Curtis Ezell of Los Gatos.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Poway.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association, San Diego County Chapter, 225 Broadway, Suite 310, San Diego, CA 92101.

Sabina Contreras, 77

OCEANSIDE - Sabina Contreras, 77, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, in Las Vegas.

Born Aug. 25, 1922, in Mexico, she lived in Oceanside for 48 years.

Mrs. Contreras was preceded in death by her husband, Yganico Contreras, in 1984. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Delia Contreras, Pascual Contreras and Felix and Tayra Contreras, all of Oceanside; sisters Maria Lemus and Socorro Lemus, both of Mexico; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Eternal Hills Mortuary, with the Rev. John Dolan officiating. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church. interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Howard Bush, 79

SUN CITY - Howard Ralph Bush, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Sun City Convalescent Hospital.

Born Oct. 2, 1920, in Forty Fort, Pa., he lived in Sun City for 14 years. He was a licensed funeral director for 30 years, retiring from Martin & Brown Funeral Home in San Francisco. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1942 to 1946.

Mr. Bush is survived by his wife, Beatrice Bush of Sun City; and niece Carolyn Tweedt of Tacoma, Wash.

Evans-Brown Sun City Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Florence Chansler, 70

WILDOMAR - Florence Chansler, 70, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, of cardiorespiratory arrest due to pneumonia at Inland Valley Regional Health Center in Wildomar.

Born Dec. 31, 1929, in Tatum, N.M., she lived in Murrieta for one year. She was a registered dietician for the state of California for 30 years.

Mrs. Chansler is survived by her husband, Lowell "Chance" Chansler of Murrieta; mother and father Eula and David Marley of San Diego; sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Judy Pate of Redlands, Ralph and Debbie Pate of Hesperia and Greg and Sylvia Chansler of Rancho Santa Margarita; three daughters and sons-in-law Cathryn and Minister Jeff Walling of Charlotte, N.C., Linda and Barry Blakely of Long Beach and Martin and Susie James of Little Rock, Ark.; brothers and sisters-in-law Albert and Jackie Marley of Thousand Oaks, Gerald and Judith Marley of Santa Ana and Donovan Marley of Denver; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 15, at Murrieta United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. and Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.

Derek Crabtree, 35

SUN CITY - Derek Alan Crabtree, 35, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, in Sun City.

Born Jan. 11, 1965, in Inglewood, he lived in Sun City for 27 years. He was a graduate of Perris High school and worked at Mottes Farms.

Mr. Crabtree is survived by his mother and father, Darlene and Dan Crabtree of Sun City; brother Daniel Crabtree II of San Diego; sister Dena Lotze of Sun City; and grandparent Eva Crabtree of Menifee.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Evans Brown Sun City Mortuary. A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at Evans Brown Sun City Chapel.

Robert Goudreau, 69

SUN CITY - Robert Joseph Goudreau, 69, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at his home.

Born April 10, 1930, in Worcester, Mass., he lived in Sun City. He was a meat cutter and chef at Market Basket in Huntington Beach before retiring and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Elks Lodge, Sun Masonic Lodge 411, 32nd Degree, Shriners and was an Honorable Knight in the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Gourdreau is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosalie Goudreau of Sun City; three daughters; and grandchildren Steven, Tiffany, Stephanie, Nichole, Albert and Patrick; and many nephews and nieces.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at St. Vincent's Church in Sun City A private cremation is planned with inurnment to take place in Ashburham, Mass.

Mary Page, 63
RAMONA - Mary "Peanut" L. Page, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Pomerado Hospital.

Born Feb. 10, 1937, in Los Angeles, she lived in Ramona for 24 years. She owned a dry cleaning and laundry business in Los Angeles for many years and owned a race engine machine shop. She also helped to start a horse breeding facility and was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Ramona.

Mrs. Page is survived by her husband of 42 years, Tom Page of Ramona; son Bill Page of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters Mary F. "Mimi" Schulty and Deborah King, both of Ramona; brothers Fred Von Der Ahe of Newport Beach, Vincent Von Der Ahe of San Juan Capistrano and Theodore Von Der Ahe of Sonoma; sisters Teresa Jasper of Laguna Niguel and Gretchen Krylow of La Jolla; and four grandchildren.

Viewing will start at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at Bonham Bros. & Lee Ramona Chapel. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. A committal service and Burial will follow at Nuevo Memory Gardens.

The family suggests memorial donations to San Diego Children's Hospital, 2030 Children's Way, San Diego, CA 92123.

Thomas Dempsey, 48

EL CENTRO - Thomas R. Dempsey, 48, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, of cancer, at the El Centro Regional Medical Center in El Centro.

Born in Philadelphia, Penn., he graduated from Carlsbad High School and Mira Costa Junior College.

He was a route driver for American Linen in El Centro for 13 years.

Mr. Dempsey is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Dempsey; parents Thomas and Rosemarie Dempsey of Oceanside; daughters and son-in-law Kelly Ann Dempsey and Erin Dempsey Rodriquez and Herbie Rodriquez; brother Michael Dempsey of El Cerrito; sister Karen Dempsey of Tustin; and grandson Cameron Jay.

A memorial Mass was celebrated Monday, Feb. 14, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Imperial. A private cremation is planned with cremains to be scattered in his favorite hunting grounds.

Tim Smith, 43

LOS ANGELES - Tim Smith, 43, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in Escondido.

Born Feb. 18, 1956, in Escondido, he lived in Los Angeles. He attended Orange Glen Elementary and was a 1974 graduate of Orange Glen High School. He earned a degree at the San Francisco Art Institute and worked as a free-lance art director for television, music videos and movies.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Smith. He is survived by his parents, Dick and Corrinne Smith of Escondido; brothers Rick Smith of Escondido and Jeff Smith of Huntington Beach; extended family and many friends.

No formal service is planned.

The family suggests memorial donations to a charity of choice.
