MENIFEE - Florence June Kemner 82, died Friday, June 30, 2000, from complications of Alzheimer's disease, at Alta Vista Health Care in Riverside.
Born June 1, 1918, in Twin Lakes Township, Iowa, she lived in Menifee for 14 years. She was a legal secretary in the Civil Service for Federal Aeronautics for 15 yeas and was a secretary for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Mrs. Kemner is survived by her son, Jon Kemner of Helendale; grandchildren Pamela Angelo of Murrieta, Jeffrey of Menifee and Virginia of Hemet; and four great-grandchildren.

Robert Gorsuch, 72
LAKE ELSINORE - Robert Patrick Gorsuch, 72, died Monday, July 3, 2000, of heart failure, at his home.
Born May 6, 1928, in Omaha, Neb., he lived in Lake Elsinore for 12 years. He was a self-employed tree trimmer for 50 years and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1947.
Mr. Gorsuch is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gorsuch of Lake Elsinore; brothers Robert Connolly of Lake Elsinore and Raymond Gorsuch of Napa; and sisters Rita Clifton of Texas, Jonie Gorsuch and Virginia Peluso, both of Phoenix.
A private service is planned. Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery.

William Johnson, 85
SAN MARCOS - William Henry Johnson, 85, died Monday, July 3, 2000, in San Marcos.
Born Aug. 29, 1914, in Hamilton County, Texas, he lived in San Marcos for 54 years. He was a self-employed cement mason for 30 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the San Diego Council of Camp Fire Boys & Girls.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Barbara Johnson; brother J. L. Johnson, Weldon Johnson, Wilburn Johnson and Charles Johnson; and sister Bessie Hopkins. He is survived by his wife, Patricia R. Johnson of San Marcos; daughters and sons-in-law Sandra D. and Clifford Hunter of San Marcos and Barbara and Bill Bush of Honeydew; brothers and sisters-in-law Lester and Wilmuth Johnson of Weatherford, Texas, and Clifford and Wilma Johnson of Waco, Texas; sisters Netie Streater and Ione Cozby, both of Hamilton, Texas, and Mattie Lou Thornton of Hillsboro, Texas; grandchildren Becta and Karen Bush of Honeydew, Aryn Hunter and Robert Hunter, both of San Marcos, and Kristie and Jay Heck of Garden Grove; and great-grandchildren John Heck and Kadie Heck, both of Garden Grove.
A graveside service was held Thursday, July 6, at San Marcos Cemetery. Interment
followed.

Jack Harkins, 82
OCEANSIDE - Jack George Harkins, 82, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at his home.
Born Oct. 12, 1917, in Glassport, Pa., he lived in Oceanside for one year and previously lived in Vista for 19 years. He was the office manager for E.R. Moore Co. for 26 years and served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army before retiring. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharist Minister, and of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Harkins was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Margaret Betts, in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg" Harkins of Oceanside; daughter Jacquelyn Trani of San Clemente; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Viewing will be held from 8 to 9 p.m., with a vigil service, on Monday, July 10, with the Rev. Ramon Marrufo officiating. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at the church, with the Rev. Patrick Mulcahy officiating. A private cremation is planned. Inurnment will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Emma Heaton, 79
VISTA - Emma Marie Heaton, 79, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, of lung cancer, in Vista.
Born April 18, 1921, in Boyne City, Mich., she lived in Vista. She was a homemaker and worked for Ford Motor Co. She served as a private in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserved from 1943 to 1944 and was a member of Happy Hackers Golf Club and Palomar Community Church.
Mrs. Heaton was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Everette Ayers, in 1974; and her second husband, Gerald Heaton, in 1991. She is survived by her sons, Don Ayers of Oakland and Dave Ayers of Arvada, Colo.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Vista Del Mar Clubhouse, with the Rev. Charlie Ivans officiating. Inurnment will take place on Saturday, July 29, in Boyne City, Mich.

Paul Barioni, 92
SAN MARCOS - Paul H. Barioni, 92, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in Vista.
Born Aug. 15, 1907, in San Luis Obispo, he lived in San Marcos for two years. He served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a chief petty officer after 25 years. He was a member of Vista Elks Club, the American Legion and the Moose Club of Escondido.
Mr. Barioni is survived by his stepson, C.H. Boswell of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter Shirley Daniels of Titusville, Fla.; sister Inez Bevins of Holtville; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private family service is planned. Inurnment will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

Irwin Baranov, 84
RAMONA - Irwin "Irv" E. Baranov, 84, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at a local hospital.
Born Dec. 18, 1915, in Chicago, he lived in Ramona for 20 years and in San Diego County since he was 7 years old.
He graduated from Hoover High School in 1935 and attended San Diego State College for two years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a manufacturing engineer for Rohr Aircraft for 25 years and worked at the Ramona Chevron during retirement.
Mr. Baranov is survived by his stepdaughter, Tricia Thorp of Jamul; sister Thelma Rose of Deming, N.M.; brother-in-law Dennis R. Dalley of Sandy, Utah; and his caregiver, Sandy Stark of Ramona.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Bonham Bros. & Lee Ramona Chapel, with a committal service and burial following at Nuevo Memory Gardens, where he will be buried with his late wife.

Richard Sawyer, 65
RAMONA - Richard Paul Sawyer, 65, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at his home.
Born March 20, 1935, in Utica, N.Y., he lived in San Diego County for 41 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and was a lithographer for PM Printing in Solana Beach. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the San Diego Board of Highland Dancing. He had been a Scoutmaster.
Mr. Sawyer is survived by his daughters, Peggy Shelton of Ramona and Rhonda Schafer of Rosemont, Minn.; son Guy Sawyer of Murrieta; brothers Thomas Sawyer of Lakeside and William Sawyer of San Diego; sister Harriet Telford of Lakeside; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, with full military honors.

George Watkins, 96
SUN CITY - George Burton Watkins, 96, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center in Loma Linda.
Born May 10, 1904, in Walhalla, S.C., he lived in Sun City for 18 years. He was a switch gear mechanic for ITE Electric in Los Angeles for 10 years and served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1943. He was a member of the Hollywood-West Valley Masonic Lodge 355 and the Masons.
Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his son, Kent Watkins. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Watkins of Sun City; and sisters Ethel Watkins and Garnell Watkins, both of Georgia.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Sun City. A graveside service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 5.

WILDOMAR - Frank Robert Rubino, 70, died Friday, June 30, 2000, of cardiac arrest, at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Wildomar.
Born May 31, 1930, in Jersey City, N.J., he lived in Murrieta for five years. He was the owner of F R Enterprise.
Mr. Rubino is survived by his wife, Rosalie Rubino of Murrieta; sons Christopher Rubino of Temecula and Phillip Rubino of Parker, Colo.; daughter Lisa Rubino of Mission Viejo; sister Marie Perrota of Parlin, N.J.; and grandchildren Francesca Rubino and Anthony Rubino, both of Temecula.

Born Aug. 26, 1912, in Silver Creek, Ore., she lived in Wildomar for three years. She worked for Douglas Aircraft for 15 years.
Mrs. Blodgett is survived by her sons, Lyle Blodgett of Las Vegas, Robert Blodgett of Anchorage, Alaska, and Richard Blodgett of Twentynine Palms; daughter Elizabeth Addington of Wildomar; brothers Bill Stensland of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Lloyd Stensland of Ketchikan, Alaska; sister Bea Perry of Mount Vernon; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

SUN CITY - Josephine M. De Paulo, 85, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at Menifee Valley Medical Center.
Born Nov. 3, 1914, in Bridgeport, Conn., she lived in Sun City for 24 years. She was a homemaker for 45 years and was a Girl Scout troop leader in El Monte.
Mrs. De Paulo is survived by her sons, James De Paulo of Arizona and Paul De Paulo of Eagle, Alaska; daughters Thelma De Paulo and Georgia Bowlin, both of West Covina, and Rita Hernandez of Simi Valley; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lester O. Blohm
VISTA - Lester O. Blohm, 83, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at Pleasant Care in Vista.
Born April 30, 1917, in Conover, Wis., he lived in Vista. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was off the coast of Pearl Harbor during the attack. He worked on the Alaska pipeline, in the logging industry in Northern Wisconsin and did long-haul semi work. He owned and operated a hardware/paint store in Milwaukee and co-owned Cal-Ecology Co. He retired in 1997.
Mr. Blohm was preceded in death by his son, William Blohm; his first wife, Ruth Blohm; and his second wife, Janet Blohm. He is survived by his wife of five years, Carol Brady of Vista; daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Al Hansen of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; son and daughter-in-law Charles "Mike" and Joan Blohm of Brookfield, Wis.; stepson and daughter-in-law Scott and Tanya Brady of Escondido; stepdaughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Kris Johnson of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Faith Lutheran Church in Vista, with the Rev. Beryl Droegemueller officiating.

Mrs. MacMillan is survived by her sons, Paul Graff and John Graff, both of Escondido; brother Paul Kettenburg of San Diego; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

VISTA - Shannon Elijah Schaub, 21, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, of cancer, at his mother's home in Vista.
Born June 12, 1979, in Jacksonville, N.C., he lived in La Mesa for 1 1/2 years. He graduated from high school in Arizona in 1996 and worked at a temporary agency and MacDonald's. He was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church.
Mr. Schaub was preceded in death by his sister, Amanda L. Robinson, in 1988; and his brother, Michael O. Robinson Jr., in 1993. He is survived by his wife of three weeks, Lilly Schaub of La Mesa; mother and father Constance L. and Michael O. Robinson of Vista; son Christopher Schaub of La Mesa; mother-in-law Danka Ignatoff of La Mesa; brothers and sisters-in-law Susan Salanoa of Sacramento, Jaisun M. Robinson and Scorpio G. Robinson, both of El Campo, Texas; sisters Julie L. Hoffman of Nitro, W. Va., and Trista Michelle L. Robinson of Vista.
