JACUMBA - Pauline Mae Hill, 86, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Grossmont Hospital.
Born Dec. 8, 1913, in Clarksville, Ark., she lived in Jacumba for 27 years.
Pauline was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ralph and Ida Lanora Walton; and brother Harry Walton. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Alice Hill of Cleburne, Texas, and Larry Hill of Las Vegas; brother Ralph Walton of Carlsbad; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. John Lurvey officiating.

Paul Kramer, 89
OCEANSIDE - Paul G. Kramer, 89, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, of heart failure.
Born Nov. 1, 1910, in Philadelphia, he lived in Oceanside for 14 years. He retired from Kramer's Esso Station in 1968 and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Kramer is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeanne Kramer of Oceanside; sons Paul S. Kramer of Oceanside and Robert L. Kramer of San Clemente; daughters and sons-in-law Jeanne K. and Don Young of Grand View, Mo., and Ann and Lyle Dunbar of Solana Beach; grandchildren Chris, Amy, Todd, Melanie, Stacy, Stephanie, Alyssa, Benjamin and Brenda; and great-grandchildren Rachelle, Kerci, Krissa, Dirk, Holly, Danielle, Christian, Calista and Bradley.
A private family memorial service is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to Hospice by the Sea, 312 S. Cedros, Suite 205, Solana Beach, CA 92075.

George Madok, 54
ESCONDIDO - George P. Madok, 54, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in Escondido.
Born May 30, 1926, in Elyria, Ohio, he lived in Escondido for 11 years. He was a self-employed certified public accountant and a member of Rotary Club and Escondido Country Club.
Mr. Madok is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary-Louise Madok of Escondido; sons and daughters-in-law George Jr. and Paula Madok of Evergreen, Colo., John and Nancy Madok of San Jose, Kevin and Katrina Madok of Long Key, Fla., and Robert and Nina Madok of Pacific Palisades; daughters and son-in-law Mary and Peter Carey of San Diego and Theresa Madok of Los Angeles; sisters and brothers-in-law Betty and Martin Lescher of Elyria, Ohio, Mary and Lawrence Majoras of Grapton, Ohio, Alice Oswalt of Loraine, Ohio, Nancy and Walter Yonkin of Katy, Texas, Peggy and Larry Crisp of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Janet and Jack Snell of Ohio; and five grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 18, at the Church of the Resurrection in Escondido, with the Rev. David Sereno officiating. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Joe Barry, 67
VALLEY CENTER - Joe Barry, 67, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000.
Born Oct. 6, 1933, in Montrose, Colo., he lived in Valley Center. He served in the U.S. military during the Korean War and was a member of Valley Center Planning Group, Valley Center Design Review Board and the I-15 Corridor Design Review Board.
Mr. Barry is survived by his wife, Claire Barry; sons Robert Barry and Dan Barry; daughter Susan Barry Roehrtasse; and grandchildren Kathleen Elizabeth, Nancy, Joseph Daniel, Ellen Rose and Grace Lokelani.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Valley Center Middle School.

Sylvia Sizemore, 72
Sylvia Marion Smith Sizemore, 72, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at her home in Oceanside.
Born Nov. 7, 1927, in Vineland, N.J., she lived in Oceanside for 12 years. She graduated from Bob Jones University and taught geography at Grice Middle School in Bordentown, N.J., for 23 years, retiring in 1988. She was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels for many years, and for Oceanside Senior Citizens Center and Oceanside Public Library.
Mrs. Sizemore is survived by her husband, Warner Sizemore of Oceanside; sister Kathryn Shope of Watsonville; daughters Beverly Furnival of Santa Monica and Sharon Hagloch of Logan, Utah; son Ronald Sizemore of New Rochelle, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Oceanside Senior Citizens Center. Another memorial service will take place Thursday, Nov. 9, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Malvery. Interment icon will follow at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Pennsylvania.
The family suggests memorial donations to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 400 Lancaster Ave., Malvery, PA 19355.

Edna Barnes, 81
FALLBROOK - Edna Helen Barnes, 81, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born April 22, 1919, in Albion, Wash., she lived in Fallbrook for 41 years. She was a homemaker for 54 years and a member of the Bonsall Community Church.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her husband of 54 years, Orville W. Barnes of Fallbrook; son Daniel Barnes of Fallbrook; daughter Carol Morrison of Aguanga; brother Ed Huff of Pullman, Wash.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 18, at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m.
Thursday, Oct. 19, at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Bobo of Bonsall Community Church officiating. Burial will follow.

Linda Peralta, 49
RINCON INDIAN RESERVATION - Linda Marie Peralta, 49, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Jan. 29, 1951, in Oceanside, she lived at Rincon Indian Reservation for 49 years. She was a community mentor for UCLA Hospital Outreach services.
Mrs. Peralta was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Ramos. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Daniel J. Peralta of the Rincon Indian Reservation; mother Marcella Mason of Rincon Indian Reservation; sons Michael D. Peralta, Daniel J. Peralta, Zsaiah J. Peralta and Joseph D. Peralta, all of Rincon Indian Reservation; daughter Veronica L. Peralta of Rincon Indian Reservation; brothers and sister-in-law Danny and Rosilinda Ramos and Lester Mason, all of Rincon Indian Reservation; sisters and brothers-in-law Kathleen and John Admire and Teresa and John Allen, all of Rincon Indian Reservation; and grandchild Iswut Peralta.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, with Deacon Tom Maher officiating. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church at the Rincon Indian Reservation, with the Rev. Marconi officiating. Burial will follow at Rincon Indian Reservation Cemetery.

William Larson, 75
ESCONDIDO - William Raymond Larson, 75, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Pomerado Hospital.
Born Feb. 12, 1925, in Chicago, he lived in Chicago for 60 years and had lived in Escondido for 12 years. He was a supervising food inspector for the Chicago Board of Health before retiring in 1987 after 37 years. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre for three years during World War II. He was past president of Wrightwood Little League and a member of Escondido Country Club.
Mr. Larson is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Larson of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Lynn and Art Jurges of Willowbrook, Ill., Karen and Mel Taylor of Carlsbad and Donna and Ken O'Brien of San Diego; sons and daughters-in-law Edward J. and Sherry Larson of Encinitas, Daniel W. and Devera Larson of Baltimore, Md., and William A. and Michele Larson of Greenville, S.C.; and grandchildren Erik and Sara Radovanovitch, Tony and Chris Jurges, Danny and Elizabeth O'Brien and Luc and Cali Larson.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary Chapel. A Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Church of the Resurrection in Escondido. Interment icon will follow at San Marcos Cemetery.

George Shain, 70
ESCONDIDO - George Leon Shain, 70, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, of cancer.
Born Feb. 14, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo., he lived in Escondido, Valley Center and San Diego for 60 years. He worked for Convair until 1968 and was a local contractor. He served as an air policeman in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Escondido Elks Club.
Mr. Shain is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gloria Shain of Escondido; sons and daughters-in-law Kelly and Kathey Shain of Longmont, Colo., and Michael and Cindy Shain of Valley Center; daughter and son-in-law Chere' and Steve Walters of Escondido; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Care Free Mobile Ranch in Escondido. His cremains will be scattered at sea.
The family suggests memorial donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025; or the American Cancer Society, 12405 Rancho Bernardo Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92128.

Bettie Longacre, 70
ESCONDIDO - Bettie J. Longacre, 70, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born June 25, 1930, in Key West, Fla., she lived in Escondido for 35 years. She worked for Salvation Army Thrift Store.
Mrs. Longacre was preceded in death by her brother, John Zachry. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Albert "Jack" Longacre of Escondido; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Lisa Longacre of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Gary Carney and Debra and James McCarley, all of Valley Center; brother Dennis Zachry of Escondido; sister Helen Grossman of Prescott, Ariz.; and grandchildren Markian, Alan, Stephen and Lauren Longacre, Beau, Aubrie and Chase Carney, Casey Davis and Michelle and Mark McCarley.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Palomar Christian Church in San Marcos, with the Rev. Sam Bennett officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma.

Norvel Ogden, 81
OCEANSIDE - Norvel Charles Ogden, 81, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation.
Born April 5, 1919, in Oklahoma, he lived in Oceanside for 31 years. He was an electrician for Bechtal Power Corporation and served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Ogden is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jessie Ogden of Oceanside; daughters and son-in-law Judy Plaster of Manassas, Va., and Brenda and Dennis Treco of Georgia; sisters and brother-in-law Lucille Hart of California and Dorothy and Bill Eastman of El Cajon; and six grandchildren.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 20, at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m., with the Rev. Ben Ferrell officiating. A private family burial will take place after the funeral service at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ferrell officiating.

Katherine Ceronsky, 91
ESCONDIDO - Katherine Ceronsky, 91, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Life Care Center of Escondido.
Born May 14, 1909, in Wakefield, Miss., she lived in Escondido for 40 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Ceronsky was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Ceronsky, in 1988. She is survived by her son, Dewayne Ceronsky of Tollhouse; daughters Geraldine Holemo of Escondido, Marguerite Barosko of McHenry, Ill., Anna Mae Storm of Green Acres, Wash., and Mary Kay Liese of Veradale, Wash.; brothers Florian DaPra and Alfonse DaPra, both of MIchigan; sister Theresa Novell of MIchigan; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Church of the Resurrection, with the Rev. David Sereno officiating.

Barbara Dilliard, 82
CRESCENT CITY - Barbara Jeanne Dilliard, 82, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000.
Born Oct. 2, 1918, in Los Angeles, she lived her whole life in California, including North San Diego County. She was a volunteer in and supporter of the Girl Scouts of America and enjoyed sports, camping and music. She was a Tupperware manager in Orange County and North San Diego County for 20 years.
Mrs. Dilliard was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William W. Dilliard. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Anne Marie Dilliard of Santa Ynez and Lorraine and Jeff Gustafson of Crescent City; son Larry Dilliard of Fallbrook; grandchildren Jennifer and Kathryn Gustafson of Crescent City; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A private memorial service will be held in Claremont.
The family suggests memorial donations to the Girl Scouts of the USA, 420 Fifth Ave., New York, NY 20018-2798.

Vera Pickell, 73
SAN MARCOS - Vera R. Pickell, 73, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, of a heart attack, at Palomar Medical Center.
Born Aug. 14, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., she lived in San Marcos for two years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pickell is survived by her husband of 46 years, John W. Pickell of San Marcos; sons and daughter-in-law John J. Pickell of St. Louis and James Edward and Diana Pickell of San Diego; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Manuel Soto of Los Angeles; brother and sister-in-law Tony and Angie LaRosa of El Cajon; sisters and brother-in-law Ann and Fred Rottler of St. Louis and Mary Timmons of Escondido; and grandchildren Breeana, Brittany, Jason, Kayla, Jacob, Bryan and Kristee.
No services will be held at the request of the deceased.
The family suggests memorial donations to Challenge Center, 5540 Lake Park Way, La Mesa, CA 91942.

Tom Buckley, 75
HEMET - Tom P. Buckley, 75, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Loma Linda Veterans Hospital.
Born Oct. 23, 1924, in Panama, Iowa, he lived in Hemet for 10 years. He was a self-employed carpenter in Nebraska, Iowa and California for 25 years and served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946, receiving an Occupation Medal in Germany, a Victory Ribbon and an Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Iowa and California. He enjoyed dancing and hunting small game.
Mr. Buckley was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Buckley; father Tim J. Buckley; son Mike Buckley; and brothers Michael Buckley and Bill Buckley. He is survived by his brothers, John Buckley of Omaha, Neb., and Timothy Buckley of Bellevue, Neb.; sister Clara Neppl of Sun City; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area 4, with Chaplain Norman Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow.

Henry Borchers, 58
SPRING VALLEY - Henry R. Borchers, 58, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at his home.
Born Jan. 25, 1942, in Elizabeth, N.J., he lived in Spring Valley for 47 years. He was a math and drafting teacher for 35 years, retiring in June from Hoover High School in San Diego. He was a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club of San Diego.
Mr. Borchers is survived by his wife, Nancy Davidson Borchers of Spring Valley; sons and daughters-in-law Reed and Amy Borchers of Sacramento and Jason and Stephanie Borchers of Fresno; daughter and son-in-law Nichole and Ken Steele of Poway; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Sherry Borchers of San Diego; and mother Marie Borchers of San Diego.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Faith Chapel in Spring Valley. A private cremation with inurnment is planned.

George Shultz, 92
OCEANSIDE - George D. Shultz, 92, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in Oceanside.
Born Oct. 18, 1907, in Brookings, S.D., he lived in Oceanside for 47 years. He was a physical before retiring. He was a member of Carlsbad Community Church and Oceanside Elks Club.
Dr. Shultz was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Hazel Shultz on Feb. 21; and his daughter, Mary Krysteen Shultz, in 1982. He is survived by his son, R. Bryan Shultz of Oceanside; and brother Edgar Shultz of Mount Shasta.
Visitation will beheld from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 20, at Oceanside Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. A. Barry Jones of Carlsbad Community Church officiating.
The family suggests memorial donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3914 Murphy Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92108.
