OCEANSIDE - Arthur F. Oldfield, 84, died Monday, April, 10, 2000, in Oceanside.

Born June 14, 1915, in Detroit, he lived in Oceanside for 10 years. He was a motel broker before retiring and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Downey United Masonic Lodge 220 F & AM and Al Malaikah Shrine.

Mr. Oldfield is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothea Oldfield of Oceanside; daughter Nancy Skinner of Sapulpa, Okla.; two grandchildren; and four grandchildren.

A private family funeral service with inurnment will be held.

The family suggests memorial donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., Suite 110C, New York, NY 10016; or the American Diabetes Association, 225 Broadway, Suite 310, San Diego, CA 92101.

Rosalie Kizer, 75

OCEANSIDE - Rosalie Elizabeth Kizer, 75, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at her home.

Born Aug. 31, 1924, in Natchez, Miss., she lived in Oceanside for 26 years. She was a secretary for Alta Vista Insurance Agency for 20 years.

Mrs. Kizer is survived by her husband of 54 years, Flavil Kizer of Oceanside; son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Theresa Kizer of Vista; daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Larry Robison of La Quinta; sister Virgie Fortier of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. Peter McQuire officiating.

The family suggests memorial donations to Tri-City Hospice, 4002 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92056.

Mabel Alberts, 87

SAN DIEGO - Mabel I. Alberts, 87, died Monday, April 3, 2000, of a stroke.

Born July 17, 1912, in Hawley, Minn., she lived in San Diego for two years, and previously lived in Escondido.

She worked for Uniroyal in Santa Ana and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Escondido.

Mrs. Alberts was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Alberts, in 1981. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Alberts of Anaheim and Richard Alberts of Hilo, Hawaii; daughter Jeannine Trudeau of San Diego; brothers Clifford Gunderson of Rock Fall, Ill., and Lloyd Gunderson of Northridge; sisters Fern Webber of San Marcos and Laura Gilbertson of Hawley; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, April 11, at El Camino Memorial Park, with Chaplain Geoff Copeland of San Diego Hospice officiating. Interment icon followed.

Helen Morra, 75

SAN DIEGO - Helen Morra, 75, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000.

Born March 17, 1925, in Staten Island, N.Y., she lived in San Diego. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Morra is survived by her mother and father, Josephine Constantine and Julius Ciabatoni; daughter Michele Morra Cass; and four grandchildren.

Merwin Markland, 79

ESCONDIDO - Merwin "Ray" Markland, 79, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at his home.

Born Dec. 11, 1920, in Friend, Neb., he moved from Clairemont to Escondido eight months ago. He worked for Naval Ocean Systems Center before retiring and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a volunteer for Ham Radio Red Flag Alert, a Boy Scout leader, manager and coach for Clairemont Hilltoppers Little League, pitching coach for Clairemont Pony League and a member of Pacific Beach Christian Church.

Mr. Markland was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Markland, in 1986; and his daughter, Carolyn Markland, in 1957. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Merwin Markland Jr. of San Diego, Sherman and Debbie Markland of Spring Valley and Gregory and Susan Markland of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Terry Carlsness of Escondido and Rose Markland and Lex Palmer of Poway; grandchildren Michelle, Michael, David, Kara, Katharine, Daniel, Trevor, Megan, Connor, James and Risa; and great-grandchildren Ashley and Taylor.

Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Pacific Beach Mortuary. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Pacific Beach Christian Church, with the Rev. Brian Daly officiating. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma.

The family suggests memorial donations to Pacific Beach Christian Church, 1074 Loring St., San Diego, CA 92109.

Jacinto Dominguez, 70

VISTA - Jacinto Lozano Dominguez, 70, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at his home.

Born Aug. 17, 1929, in Los Angeles, he lived in Vista for five years and in San Diego for 40 years. He was a self-employed cement finisher for 45 years.

Mr. Dominguez is survived by his son, Jacinto L. Dominguez Jr. of Vista; daughters Diane Norris of Valley Center and Estella Parker of Chicago; brothers Reyes Dominguez and Cruz Dominguez, both of Tulare; sisters Felipa Dominguez of Mexico; Eufemia Suzrez of San Diego, Otilia Venegas of Oceanside and Gloria Villalobos of Tulare; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, at Allen Brothers Mortuary, Vista Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, also at Allen Brothers Mortuary. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Charles Minsky, 73

OCEANSIDE - Charles B. Minsky, 73, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Tri-City Medical Center.

Born May 30, 1926, in Easton, Pa., he lived in Oceanside for 10 years.

Mr. Minsky was preceded in death by his sons, David Minsky and Ed Long. He is survived by his wife, Jeane Minsky; sons Dan Long and John Long; daughter Kathy Parker; three daughters-in-law; brother Arthur Minsky of El Cajon; sisters Lillian Krim of Easton, Gloria Schentzel of Tamarac, Fla., and Shirley Bouer of Jersey City, N.J.; one brother-in-law; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and friends.

A funeral service was held at Riverside National Cemetery, with Rabbi Akiva Gerstein officiating. A memorial gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Carlsbad.

Richard Forehan, 75

WILDOMAR - Richard L. Forehan, 75, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, of cancer.

Born March 12, 1925, in Los Angeles, he lived in Wildomar for 15 years. He attended high school in Pasadena and was a technician for Telesis of Pasadena, retiring in 1984. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years as a specialist third class and was a member of the Elks Club for 15 years.

Mr. Forehan is survived by his wife, Carol Forehan of Wildomar; sons Chris Forehan of Los Alamitos, Robert Forehan of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Daniel Forehan of Costa Mesa; daughter Leslie Woods of Temecula; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 17 at New Community Lutheran Church in Temecula. A private cremation is planned, with inurnment to take place at Riverside National Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations to St. Thomas Episcopal Church Building Fund, 27512 Enterprise Circle West, Temecula, CA 92590; or to Lake Elsinore Elks Lodge Major Project, PO Box 1564, Wildomar, CA 92595-1564.

Harvey Greenwood, 65

TEMECULA - Harvey L. Greenwood, 65, died Friday, April 7, 2000, of cancer.

Born Aug. 16, 1934, in New York, he lived in Temecula for two years. He was the owner of Greenwood Buick in New York for eight years and Greenwood Pontiac in Downey for 12 years. He also was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Wildomar.

Mr. Greenwood is survived by his wife, Sandy Greenwood of Temecula; sons Allan Greenwood, Robert D. Grafton of Mission Viejo and Derek C. Grafton of Eugene, Ore.; daughter Kristen Jacosta of Temecula; and six grandchildren.

A private family service is planned.

The family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of the Valley, PO Box 686, Sun City, CA 92586.

Beadie Harmon, 89
ESCONDIDO - Beadie L. Harmon, 89, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Sunbridge West in Escondido.

Born Feb. 15, 1911, in Shubuta Miss., she lived in Escondido for one year. She was a weaver for Greenville Carpet Company before retiring.

Mrs. Harmon is survived by her sons, William Harmon of Redding and Jack Harmon of Lemoncove; daughters Chris French of Laurel, Miss., Shirley Vaughn of Stockton, Ann Fredricks of Escondido and Lorene West of Turlock; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

A private family graveside service was held Friday, April 14, with interment at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Mary Ewalt, 92

SAN MARCOS - Mary Delia Ewalt, 92, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at a local hospital.

Born Aug. 9, 1907, in Rockport, Mass., she lived in San Diego County for 43 years, most recently in San Marcos. She was a homemaker for 48 years and sang with the Oldies But Goodies singers in San Marcos. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer at VA hospitals.

Mrs. Ewalt was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Ewalt, in 1974; and her son, Burton E. Ewalt, in 1975. She is survived by her son, Fredrick M. Ewalt of E. Killingly, Conn.; daughters Faye Graleski of Graham, Wash., and Janet M. Closson of San Marcos; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at San Marcos Cemetery, with the Rev. Sam Brumit officiating. Interment icon will follow.

Gonzala Martinez, 89

OCEANSIDE - Gonzala Martinez, 89, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at the home of her daughter.

Born Jan. 10, 1911, in Mexico, she lived in Oceanside for 61 years, She was a homemaker for 72 years.

Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Martinez, in 1965. She is survived by her sons, Lucio Martinez of Gilroy, Paul Martinez of Oceanside, Theodore Martinez Jr. of Vista and Joe Martinez of Ramona; daughters Tillie Flores of Oceanside, Jenny Aguirre of Gilroy and Linda Trejo of Vista; 37 grandchildren; and 75 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. John Dolan officiating. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, with the Rev. Michael Pham officiating. Interment icon will follow.

Angelina Bojorquez, 68

MESA GRANDE - Angelina "Babe" Bojorquez, 68, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at her home.

Born June 30, 1931, in Soboda, she lived on the Mesa Grande Indian Reservation her entire life. She graduated from Julian High School in 1949 and from Palomar Community College in 1976. She was a member of the Escondido Lemon Association, Escondido Orange Association, the La Jolla Indian Reservation, the Pala Reservation and the Santa Ysabel Indian Mission. She worked for the All Mission Indian Housing Authority for 18 years, retiring in 1998. She played a part in the movie, Ramona, when she was 2 years old.

Mrs. Bojorquez is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ralph S. Bojorquez of Mesa Grande; sons Ralph C. Bojorquez of La Jolla Reservation and Manuel "Cooney" Bojorquez of Pauma Reservation; daughters Charmaine Devers of Pauma Reservation, Roxanne Holmes of Mesa Grande Reservation and Juliana "Tina" Bojorquez of Mesa Grande Reservation; sister Julia Nejo of Mesa Grande Reservation; grandchildren Walter "Champ" Holmes and Geronimo Joseph Holmes of Morongo Reservation, Chris, Charlie and Cathy Devers of Pauma Reservation, Maulette, Roxanne, Henry and Anthony Bojorquez of La Jolla Reservation and Danna Rae Bojorquez of Mesa Grande Reservation; and four great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held at 5 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Bonham Bros & Lee Ramona Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Santa Ysabel Indian Mission. Burial will follow at the Bloomdale Cemetery.

Orlin Curtis, 92

TEMECULA - Orlin R. Curtis, 92, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 14, 1907, in Winston, Colo., he lived in Temecula for 12 years. He graduated from high school in Long Beach and was a plant manager for Elmore Engineering in Alhambra for 25 years, retiring in 1966.

Mr. Curtis is survived by his wife, Margaret Curtis of Temecula; sons Dan Curtis of Ashland, Ore., and Barry Curtis of Canyon Lake; daughter Marcie McComb of Temecula; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four cousins.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Stout Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. A private cremation with inurnment is planned.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 1240 Palmyrita, Unit A, Riverside, CA 92507.

Helen Savage, 82
SAN MARCOS - Helen J. Savage, 82, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at a local hospital.

Born July 28, 1917, in Jefferson County, Mo., she lived in San Diego County for 25 years. She was a homemaker for 25 years and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Vista.

Mrs. Savage is survived by her husband of 19 years, Quentin Savage of San Marcos; son and daughter-in-law James Leslie and Helen Alewel of Tustin; daughters and sons-in-law Janet and Vester Knight of Anaheim, Joyce and Jerry Strickland of Glendora and Sharon G. and Dwayne Merz of Eldorado, Kan.; brother Lloyd Yates of Arnold, Mo.; sister Leona Miles of Amity, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. B.D. Droegemueller officiating. A graveside service with interment will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.

OCEANSIDE - Elzora Haley, 105, died Thursday, April 14, 2000, in Vista.

Born Feb. 19, 1895, in Hearne, Texas, she lived in Oceanside for 47 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Friendly Church of God in Christ and Heroines of Jerico-Court.

Mrs. Haley is survived by her sons, Clarence D. Haley of Compton Charles D. Haley of Gardena, Henry Haley Jr. of Oceanside, J.B. Haley of Hamlin, Texas, and Leon Haley of Fort Worth, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Oceanside Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Friendly Church of God in Christ in Oceanside, with the Rev. Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
