VISTA - Vickie Lynn Wengert, 49, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, in Vista.
Born Oct. 5, 1950, in California, she lived in Vista. She worked for Cubic Communications.
Mrs. Wengert is survived by her husband of 21 years, Dan Wengert of Vista; sons Michael Kimball of Vista and Bobby Kimball of Escondido; brother Don Lavender of California; sisters Shela West of California and Jeannie Lavender of MIchigan; and one grandchild.
A graveside service was held Saturday, Aug. 28, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
Eternal Hills Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Marguerite Winkler, 65
OCEANSIDE - Marguerite Mary Winkler, 65, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at her home.
Born Feb. 17, 1935, in Mount Vernon, Kan., she lived in Oceanside for 14 years. She was a self-employed historian and a member of Mission San Luis Rey Parish.
Mrs. Winkler is survived by her companion, James Ballard of Oceanside; sons Dean Winkler and Michael Winkler, both of Oceanside, Carroll Winkler of Eagle, Colo., Jeffrey Winkler of Overland Park, Kan., and Daniel Winkler of Kansas City, Mo.; brothers Alphonse of Cheney, Kan., Alvin of Colorado Springs, Colo., James of Hampton, Va., and David of Norwalk, Iowa; sisters Pauline of Andals, Kan., Rose and Jeanette, both of Cheney, Eileen and Elizabeth, both of Kimball, Neb.; and 11 grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Kan. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:10 p.m. today, Aug. 29, at Mission San Luis Rey. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. Inurnment will follow at St. Rose Catholic Church Cemetery.

Zola Sailor, 87
VISTA - Zola Maxine Sailor, 87, died Friday, Aug. 25, at Pleasant Care in Vista.
Born January 10,1913, in St. Paul, Minn., she lived in Oceanside for 6 1/2 years. She was a credit manager before retiring and a member of
St. Anne's Episcopal Church and Eastern Star.
Mrs. Sailor was preceded in death by her husband, Al Sailor, in 1987. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and John Andrews of Oceanside; and grandchildren Keith and JoAnn Stahnke of Tiberon, Mark Andrews of Concord, Todd and Lisa Andrews of Las Vegas, Christopher Andrews of Henderson, Nev.; and great-grandchildren Patrick Stahnke, Brady Andrews and Brooke Andrews.
A private cremation is planned. Internment will take place in St. Paul, Minn.
The family suggests memorial donations to St. Anne's Episcopal Church Organ Fund, 701 W. St., Oceanside, CA 92054-5021; or Hospice by
the Sea, 312 S. Cedros, Suite 205, Solana Beach, CA 92075.

Elisaia Siluano, 62
OCEANSIDE - Elisaia P. Siluano, 62, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, of cancer, in Oceanside.
Born Aug. 9, 1938, in American Samoa, he lived in Oceanside for 41 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring as a master gunnery sergeant in 1985. He worked for the civil service and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Vista.
Mr. Siluano was preceded in death by his mother and father, Milosia and Puaa Nakiso; and brother Faamaile Amituania. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Edna Siluano of Oceanside; sons and daughters-in-law Eddie and Teresa Siluano of Fountain Valley, Jonathan Faamaile and Ma Riso Siluano and David Siluano, all of Oceanside; daughters and sons-in-law Rachel Saxton, Evelyn and Joel Siluano-Henry, Sue Maninoa and Cesar Siluano and Elisa Siluano, all of Oceanside; brothers John Huckaby of Samoa, Anthony Lefefe of Laguna Hills and Paoa Nakiso of Hayward; sisters Tali Tagata, Siolo Laurenson Veli Williams and Maisu Hula, all of San Francisco, Maninoa Ashan of Hawaii and Su'e Failauga of Samoa.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 29, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at Grace Presbyterian Church in Vista, with the Rev. Stratter officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Mortuary, with full military honors.

Gloria Boyer, 71
VISTA - Gloria June Boyer, 71, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at her home.
Born Dec. 1, 1928, in Los Angeles, she lived in Vista for 50 years. She worked for the Vista Unified School District before retiring.
Mrs. Boyer was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard S. Boyer, in 1992. She is survived by her son, Jeff Boyer of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughter Linda Shadle of San Diego; brother Robert W. Higgason of Lompoc; and grandchildren Julian Shadle and Selena Shadle.
No service will be held at the request of the deceased. Burial will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park at a later date.

John Gibbs, 58
ESCONDIDO - John Earl Gibbs, 58, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000.
Born Feb. 1, 1942, in Brawley, he lived in Escondido for 15 years. He was a self-employed certified public accountant in Escondido for 15 years. He served as a board member of the Nice Guys of San Diego and was a member of the Elks Club. He was deputy administrator of commodity operations in the Agriculture Department in Washington, D.C., during the Carter Administration.
Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Gibbs; and brother Bobby Gibbs. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betty Lou Gibbs of Escondido; mother Claudine Gibbs; son John Michael Gibbs of Escondido; daughter and son-in-law Terri S. and Darrin J. Widner of Escondido; brother and sister-in-law Doyle and Susan Gibbs of Hemet; and grandchild Ryan Michael Widner.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Frye Chapel in Brawley.
The family suggests memorial donations to North County Serenity House Inc., 130 S. Fig St., Escondido, CA 92025.

Joan Sorg, 63

RAMONA - Joan Sorg, 63, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, in La Jolla.
Born Dec. 17, 1936, in Loma Linda, she lived in Ramona. She worked for Chemicon.
Mrs. Sorg was preceded in death by her father and one sister. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jerry Sorg of Ramona; mother Lois Roberts of Escondido; sons Jay Sorg of Calimesa and Erick Sorg of Ramona; daughter Laura D. Cronk of Bonsall; brother Edger Roberts Jr. of Poway; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Aug. 30, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A private burial will take place at a later date at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Gotthelf Unterseher, 89
POWAY - Gotthelf Erick Unterseher, 89, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Villa Pomerado in Poway.
Born Dec. 29, 1910, in Halliday, N.D., he lived in Poway for 21 years. He was a self-employed carpenter for 60 years.
Mr. Unterseher was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Unterseher, in 1997; and his daughter Darlene Heck in 1993. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Lois Unterseher of Carlsbad; daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Donald Broyles of Tulsa, Okla., Barbara and Anthony Wingers of Poway, Sandra and Raymond Welsh of Orange, Donna and Raymond Azar of La Mirada, Debra and Loren Murphy of Poway and Emma Rook of Apple Valley; sisters Elizabeth Dukart of Killdeer, N.D., and Freida Lindquist and Joann Davidson, both of Fargo, N.D.; brothers and sisters-in-law Otto and Vi Unterseher and Christ Unterseher, all of Fargo, and Art and Bonnie Unterseher of Leads, S.D.; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 31, at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Poway, with the Rev. Michael Froidurot officiating. Burial will follow at Dearborn Memorial Park.

Willie Carter, 81
VISTA - Willie N. Carter, 81, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in Escondido.
Born May 10, 1919, in Atlanta, he lived in Vista for 10 years. He worked for General Music before retiring and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars of San Marcos and Vista and the American Legion in Vista.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his first wife, Beulah Carter, on July 18, 1973; his son Allen Carter on Sept. 15, 1973; and his second wife, Pearl Carter, on July 19. He is survived by his son Martin Turner of Escondido; daughters and sons-in-law Doreen Agee of Boulevard, Pamela Hilton of Nurveo, Rachel Nelson of La Jolla Indian Reservation, Deloris and Ken Hatlestad and Fran Jacquez, all of Escondido, Shirley Wood of Jackson, Mich., and Hilda and Joe Chavez of San Pasqual; brother and sister-in-law Ledell and Trudy Carter of Vista; sister Katherine Nix of Alabama; grandchildren Scott and Paul Hatlestad, Star Wood, Charo McEvans, Tony Jacquez Jr., Tina Schultz, Melissa Knowles, Chief Lester Jr., Leonard Butt, Kristie Nelson, Larry Newman, Kimberly Hilton, and Amanda, Joseph, Taciana and Aubriana Chavez; and 10 great-grandchildren.
North County Cremation Service is handling arrangements.

Nancy Bobo, 41
OCEANSIDE - Nancy L. Bobo, 41, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, in Vista.
Born July 1, 1959, in Illinois, she lived in Oceanside for 10 years.
Mrs. Bobo was preceded in death by her brother. She is survived by her husband of six years, Alger Bobo of Oceanside; mother and father Sue and Wayne Cloniger of E. Alton, Ill.; and son Kyle Walker of Camp Pendleton.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at Eternal Hills Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled in E. Alton, Ill.

Jonathan Jones, infant
SAN DIEGO - Jonathan David Jones, infant, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at Kaiser Permanente Zion Hospital in San Diego, where he was born Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000.
Jonathan is survived by his mother and father, Christina and Julien Jones of Escondido; grandparents Dennis and Jane Johnson and Peter and Rebecca Jones of Escondido; great-grandparents Edmund and Jean Clowney of Houston, Marian Earle of Escondido, Ralph and Marilyn Johnson of Santa Barbara and Thomas Ronald and Ellen Jones of Liverpool, England; aunts and uncles Eric Johnson, Laurie Johnson, Peter and Mandi Johnson, Gabrielle Jones, Myriam Jones, Tessa Jones, Toby Jones, Zoe Jones and David and Eowyn Stoddard; and cousins Jesse and Liam Stoddard.
Interment took place Friday, Aug. 25, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 26, at New Life Presbyterian Church in Escondido.

Claire Bleiman, 75
SAN MARCOS - Claire C. Bleiman, 75, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at her home.
Born April 18, 1925, in Pennsylvania, she lived in San Marcos for 12 years. She worked for Cal State Northridge before retiring in 1985. She was a member of Brandeis Woman's Club and was a San Marcos Library volunteer.
Mrs. Bleiman is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lewis Bleiman of San Marcos; son and daughter-in-law David and Edie Bleiman of San Francisco; daughters Wendy Bleiman of Los Angeles and Beth Gail Bleiman of San Diego; and brothers Edward Zimmerman and Alfred Cleff, both of Los Angeles, and Samuel Cleff of Santa Barbara.
A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday. Sept. 3, at her home in San Marcos.
North County Cremation Service is handling arrangements.

Twyla Hoskinson, 92
ESCONDIDO - Twyla Mae Hoskinson, 92, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, in Escondido.
Born Nov. 21, 1907, in Moline, Ill., she lived in Escondido for 27 years. She was an interior decorator for the House of Rattan for 12 years and enjoyed traveling and homemaking.
Mrs. Hoskinson is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lon C. Hoskinson of Escondido.
A private cremation is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to Horizon Hospice, 13053 Poway Road, Poway, CA 92064.

Tamsy Johnson, 79
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tamsy E. Johnson died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in Jacksonville.
Born Nov. 26, 1929, in Jacksonville, he had lived in Oceanside. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1971, retiring as a master sergeant, and worked for civil service at the Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton. He was an ROTC instructor at Oceanside High School from 1971 to 1977.
Msgt. Johnson was preceded in death by his first wife, Tamiko Johnson; mother Amonee Whitehead; father George Johnson; and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Doretha Johnson; daughter Nora Wright; sons Tamsy Johnson Jr. and Eugene Johnson; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. Burial will take place at Edgewood Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Grelly Parris, 70
FALLBROOK - Grelly Arnold Parris, 70, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, in Fallbrook.
Born Dec. 15, 1929, in Bradley County, Tenn., he lived in Fallbrook for 36 years. He owned a tree-trimming business for 25 years before retiring and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Parris is survived by his wife of 42 years, Syble J. Parris of Fallbrook; sons Arnold Parris of Murrieta and Robin Briggs of Exeter; daughters Theresa McCoy of Menifee and Denise Quann of Lakewood, Wash.; brothers Earl Parris of Cypress and Jack Parris of Torrance; sisters Katherine Stafford of Rouge River, Ore., and Ruth Thyne of Bonsall; and 10 grandchildren.
Burial will take place at Murrieta Valley Cemetery at a date to be determined. A private cremation is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 12405 Rancho Bernardo Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92128.
