Fay Lucile Ehrhorn
Services will be Monday for Fay Lucile Ehrhorn, who died at her Scotts Valley home. She was 88.
A native of Lorraine, Kan., Mrs. Ehrhorn was a member of the Felton Bible Church and the Christian Women’s Club. She also served as the church choir director for 35 years and was the state officer for the Parent Teacher Association. Her hobbies and interests included being a musician, Christain education, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Ehrhorn of Scotts Valley; son Roger Ehrhorn of Ben Lomond; daughters Arlene Ponikvar of San Ramon and Beverely Sadler of Danville; brother Leland Friesen of Iowa; sister Naomi Clark of Spring Valley; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Felton Bible Church. Internment will be private.
Contributions are preferred to the Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center. Arrangements are by Oakwood Memorial Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road in Santa Cruz.

Alice Lorraine Gates
Private services will be held for Alice Lorraine Gates, who died Friday at home in Soquel. She was 71.
Mrs. Gates was born in Kansas and had lived in Santa Cruz County for 21 years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Gates of Soquel; daughters Sharon Caldwell Kliever of Santa Cruz and Brenda Mills of Soquel; sons Larry Thomas Mills of Soquel and Stephen Leon Mills of Sacramento; brother Gary Fishburn of Oregon; sisters Geri Hull of Kansas and Beulah Tivitian; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held.
Contributions are preferred to Hospice Caring Project, 6851 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003.
Norman’s Family Chapel is handling arrangements.

John Robert McCroskey
Services will be held Friday for John Robert McCroskey, who died Friday in Porterville. He was 75.
Born in Los Angeles, Mr. McCroskey was a resident of Porterville for the past eight years. Before that, he lived in Portland, Ore., and the Santa Cruz area.
During his more than 15 years in the area, the electrical contractor owned McCroskey Electric of Soquel. He trained many local electricians and was self-employed for 30 years.
Mr. McCroskey was active in the Assembly of God Church in Santa Cruz. His children attended Soquel and Harbor high schools.
In Porterville, he was a member and lay pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene and a volunteer chaplain at Kern State Prison. He held more than 1,300 chapel services at the prison.
The graduate of Hollywood High School served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara McCroskey of Porterville; sons John R. McCroskey Jr. of Porterville, James McCroskey of Phoenix, Joseph McCroskey of Watsonville and Jay McCroskey of Lockeford; step-sons Lt. Gen. Richard Brown of the Pentagon, Timothy Brown of Salem, Ore., and Nick Brown of Porterville; step-daughters Penni Lambert of Victor, Mont., and Bethany White of Silverton, Ore.; 30 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Services will be at the Porterville Church of the Nazarene at 7 p.m. A private cremation ceremony will be held at Myers Crematory in Porterville.
Contributions may be made to the Prison Ministry Fund, First Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 1069, Porterville, CA 93258.

Elizabeth J. ‘BJ’ Stratton
Services will be Oct. 20 for Elizabeth J. "BJ" Stratton, who died in her Watsonville home. She was 70.
The native of Ross was raised in San Francisco and resided in Santa Cruz County for 39 years.
She graduated from Saint Francis School of Nursing in San Francisco in 1952 and worked as a registered nurse in the operating room for 46 years. When she retired from Sutter Hospital in Santa Cruz in 1998, she took computer classes at Cabrillo Community College in Aptos and spent time with her grandson John.
She is survived by daughters Pamela Koch of Pinole and Valerie Jenson of Monroe, Wash.; son Terrence M. Barton III of Seattle; brother David Herbertson of Sonora; and five grandchildren.
Her husband, Terrence M. Barton II of Santa Cruz, died in 1976.
Services are 11 a.m. at Oakwood Memorial Chapel at 3301 Paul Sweet Road in Santa Cruz. A private scattering of ashes will follow.
Contributions can be made to Hospice Caring Project of Santa Cruz County, 6851 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003.

Marjorie M. Edwards
Services will be Monday for Marjorie Maxine Edwards, who died Thursday at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. She was 68.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Visalia. She lived in the Watsonville and Prunedale areas for more than 60 years.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Lee Edwards of Prunedale; sons Lonnie Ray Edwards of Salinas and Clifford Lee Edwards of Montana; daughter Juanita Kay Waford of Salinas; brother Glen Christy Dunken of Watsonville; sisters Nancy Evelyn Fisher of Arkansas and Wanda Lorelei Skelton of Watsonville; and six grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Davis Memorial Chapel in Watsonville. Burial will follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

Leon Bresette
Services will be Tuesday for Leon Bresette, who died Thursday in Watsonville. He was 91.
Mr. Bresette was born in Burbank. He had lived in Watsonville for 70 years.
Mr. Bresette was a mechanic for the city of Watsonville for more than 20 years. He was a commercial fisherman and had owned and operated the Arco gas station on East Lake Avenue in Watsonville.
Mr. Bresette enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by sons Earl Bresette of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and Albert Bresette of Arkansas; daughter Betty Gonyier of Sonora; sister Cecil Harris of Burlingame; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren
His wife of 67 years, Rose Bresette, died in February.
Services are 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. A private Burial will follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

Teresa Martinez Sanchez
Services will be Monday for Teresa Martinez Sanchez, who died Thursday at Stanford Medical Center. She was 28.
Mrs. Martinez Sanchez was born in Huacao, Michoacan, Mexico, and had lived in Watsonville since 1991. She worked at Coastal Berry Co. for five years.
She is survived by her husband Javier Perez of Watsonville; son Kevin Perez of Watsonville; daughters Jessica and Stephanie Perez, both of Watsonville; brothers Cruz, Serafin, Jesuscq, Wenseslao and Francisco Martinez, all of Watsonville, and Guillermo Martinez of Mexico; and sisters Sylvia, and Maribel Martinez, all of Watsonville.
Services are 7 p.m. Monday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. at the chapel.
Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.

Marguerite C. Lenihan Kendall
Services will be Sunday for Marguerite "Marky" C. Lenihan Kendall, who died Tuesday in Watsonville. She was 64.
Mrs. Kendall was born in Providence, R.I. She came to California in 1965 and had lived in the Santa Cruz County for 30 years.
Mrs. Kendall graduated from Westerly High School and majored in classical organ music at the New England Conservatory of Music. She was an independent real estate broker for more than 15 years.
Mrs. Kendall enjoyed music, gardening and walks on the beach.
She is survived by son H. David Kendall of Westerly; daughter Kristin Ditlevsen; brothers Russell A. Lenihan, F. Thomas Lenihan and Michael P. Lenihan; sister Anne Chase Lenihan of Westerly; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Valley Heights Senior Rental Community, 925 Freedom Blvd., Watsonville.
Contributions are preferred to Stanford University Hospital, Office of Medical Development, 770 Welch Road, Suite 400, Palo Alto, CA 94304.
Arrangements are by Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
