John C. Quinley
No services will be held for John C. Quinley, who died Saturday in Santa Cruz. He was 95.
Mr. Quinley was born in Copperopolis. He lived many years in Moraga before moving to Aptos four years ago.
Mr. Quinley worked at the San Francisco Ship Yards during World War II. He was a electrician at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He was honored with a 60-year pin from the Electricians Union.
Mr. Quinley was a member of the Moraga Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and many outdoor activities including, skiing, hunting, fishing and golf.
He is survived by brother Cecil Quinley of Chico; sisters Martha Zimmerman of Modesto and Corabel Hawkins of Alameda; and many nieces and nephews.
His wife, Thelma A. Quinley, died in 1992.
Contributions are preferred to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are by Benito and Azzaro’s Pacific Gardens Chapel.

Anthony Paul Demos
Services will be private for Anthony Paul Demos, who died Oct. 1 in Aberdeen, Wash. He was 64.
Mr. Demos was born in Santa Cruz. He lived in the area many years before settling in Ocean City, Wash.
Mrs. Demos graduated from Pacific School in Davenport and Santa Cruz High School. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Blue.
Mr. Demos was an industrial electrician and worked on many of the large sawmills in the Washington area. He owned and operated the Silver Maple RV Park in Ocean City.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by son Christopher Demos of Ocean City; daughters Dennise of Tacoma, Wash., Stephanie Anderson of Oregon, and Sara Coleman of Ocean City; sister Dolly Gregory of Santa Cruz; brothers Mike Demos of Santa Cruz and Alvin Demos of Hollister; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
His wife, Bonnie Demos, died before him.
Private services will be at the National Veterans Cemetery in Kent, Wash.

Rose Ida Archibald
Services will be Saturday for Rose Ida Archibald, who died Oct. 11 in Capitola. She was 72.
Mrs. Archibald was born in Walla Walla, Wash. She lived in Oregon and Texas before moving to the area 32 years ago.
Mrs. Archibald enjoyed painting, drawing, playing the piano and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her ex-husband of 22 years, Edward J. Archibald; daughters Mary Anderson of Coupeville, Wash., Annette Erley of Kirkland, Wash., and Julie Monet of Scotts Valley; sons Ed Archibald of Mendocino, Tim Archibald of Red Bluff, Matt Archibald of Santa Clara, Chris and Mike Archibald, both of Los Gatos, Dan Archibald of Tracy, Tom Secolo of Campbell, and John Archibald of Willow Glen; stepson Eric Anderson of Coupeville, Wash.; sisters Mary Curcio and Barbara Parkhill, both of Walla Walla; brothers Sam Secolo of Wenatchee, Wash., Robert Secolo of Portland, Ore., and Ralph Secolo of Walla Walla; and 17 grandchildren.
Her son Joseph David Archibald died in 1964, and son James Archibald died Oct. 15, 2001.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at San Agustin Church in Scotts Valley.
Contributions are preferred to Mrs. Archibald’s grandson, Ethan James Archibald, c/o John Archibald, P.O. Box 8269, San Jose, CA 95155.
Arrangements are by the Neptune Society.

Ed R. Clewett
Services will be Monday for Ed R. Clewett, who died Friday in Watsonville. He was 89.
Mr. Clewett was born in Formosa, and lived in the Santa Clara Valley before moving to Watsonville 26 years ago.
He worked as a plumber at J.W. McClenahan Co. in San Jose, and was a member of Plumbers Union No. 393. He taught a plumbing class at San Jose State University.
Mr. Clewett was a member of Valley Catholic Church, the Pajaro Valley Prayer Group and the Watsonville Elks Lodge, where he had served as Exalted Ruler. He enjoyed participating in activities at the Watsonville Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mamie Dutra Clewett of Watsonville; son Wilbur Clewett of Lucerne Valley; stepson Jim Dutra of Watsonville; stepdaughter Marilu Phillips of Bellingham, Wash.; brother Harold Clewett of Gilroy; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
His son, Elwin Clewett, died before him.
Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave. Watsonville. Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Valley Catholic Church, 2401 E. Lake Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose.

Charles Phillip Darrough
No services will be held for Charles Phillip Darrough, who died Thursday at Dominican Hospital. He was 84.
Mr. Darrough was a native of Fernly, Nev., and was raised in San Mateo. He later moved to Redwood City, where he lived for 50 years. He moved to Capitola in February.
Mr. Darrough attended Bellarmine College, the College of San Mateo and later graduated from UC Berkeley. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 43 years and retired in 1979 as a public projects engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Darrough; sons, William David Darrough of South Pasadena and Richard Creed Darrough of San Francisco; brother, John Darrough; and two grandchildren.
Contributions are preferred to the Dominican Hospital Foundation, 1555 Soquel Drive, Santa Cruz, CA 95065; The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1390 Market St., San Francisco, CA 94102; or the Neptune Society of Northern California in San Jose.

Willadean Grace Hall
Services will be today for Willadean Grace Hall, who died Friday. She was 96.
Mrs. Hall, a native of Bowling Green, Ky., had lived in Santa Cruz since 1996.
She and her husband, Wilbert Hall, lived in Kincaid, Ill., then moved to Richmond in 1929. They also lived in Pinole, Oroville, Dairy, Oregon and, finally, in Napa, where she attended Grace Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons Don Hall, of Scotts Valley, LaVerne Hall of Woodinville, Wash., and Dwight Hall of San Mateo; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Wilbert, died in 1974.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. today at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito. Arrangements are by Santa Cruz Memorial Park Funeral Home .

Robert John Kennedy
Services will be Wednesday for Robert John Kennedy, who died Sunday after a brief illness. He was 64.
Mr. Kennedy, a native of Oakland, lived in Scotts Valley for 35 years. He worked for Santa Cruz County for 38 years. He enjoyed gardening and made a hobby of collecting license plates and other antique memorabilia from the 1930s to the 1950s.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Laura Kennedy of Scotts Valley; daughters Diana Hall of Scotts Valley, Sandy Morrison of Arkansas, Tammy Shea of Scotts Valley, and Rhonda Anderson of Texas; sons Steve and Mike Bryant, both of Nevada; brother Gary Kennedy of Oakland; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Memorial Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz.
Contributions are preferred to Dominican Hospital or a favorite charity.
Arrangements are by Santa Cruz Memorial Park and Funeral Home.

Jack Lanier Corder
Services are Nov. 10 for Jack Lanier Corder, who died Thursday of complications from lung cancer. He was 72.
Mr. Corder was born in Georgetown, Texas, and served as a senior pilot in the Air Force for 17 years including in Korea from 1950-51. He helped develop air-to-air missiles operating a drone plane from a remote during test flights in New Mexico.
During his military career Mr. Corder earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University and later earned a bachelor’s in history from UC Santa Cruz.
After the service he directed many businesses in the Santa Cruz area, selling ice cream, real estate and wine. His company, Fine Wines by Jack, served the greater Bay Area for more than 20 years.
He ran for a position on the county Board of Supervisors in 1978 and was elected to the board of the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce in 1974.
Mr. Corder enjoyed music, books, travel, cooking and wine.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Corder of Santa Cruz; daughters Sharon Corder of Toronto and Shelley Corder of Carson City, Nev.; son Montgomery Corder of San Jose; and two grandchildren.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Nov. 10 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 515 Frederick St., Santa Cruz.
Contributions are preferred to the Visiting Nurses Association, 1041 41st Ave., Santa Cruz, 95062, or Hospice Caring Project, 6851 Soquel Ave., Aptos, 95003.
Arrangements are by the Neptune Society.
