Brother Edward L.K. Gomez
Services will be Feb. 4, for Brother Edward L. K. Gomez, who died Jan. 21 in Honolulu. He was 64.
Mr. Gomez was very involved with the church throughout his life.
He was born in 1938 to Edward Edwin Gomez and Ethel Akyau of Honolulu.
He was confirmed in 1951 and headed to Santa Cruz in 1956 to enter the novitiate of the Society of Mary.
In the years following, he continued his education at St. Maryís College in Moraga and the University of San Francisco. In 1961, he took a job at St. Joseph High School in Alameda.
Later in the decade, he returned to his alma mater, St. Louis School in Oahu. In the years following, he taught and sought education across the continental United States before returning again to Hawaii.
Services will be at the St. Louis/Chaminade campus in Oahu. Burial will follow at Diamond Head Memorial Park in Hawaii.

Lawrence B. Malkin
Services are today for Lawrence B. Malkin, who died Sunday at his Aptos home. He was 70.
Mr. Malkin was born in Cleveland, and moved to Aptos in 1999.
He received a masterís degree in health-care administration from Northwestern University in Chicago, and worked as a hospital administrator in Marin County for many years before retiring in 1985.
Mr. Malkin was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rita Malkin of Aptos; daughters Julie Ebert of Scotts Valley and Jamie Hanson of Reno; son Joshua Malkin of Sacramento; brother Richard Malkin of Berkeley; and two grandchildren.
Services are at 2:30 today at Monteís Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
Contributions are preferred to Hospice Caring Project, 6851 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003.
Arrangements are by Santa Cruz Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Bobbie Katheryn Kelly
Services will be Saturday for Bobbie Katheryn Kelly, who died Sunday after a long illness. She was 77.
Mrs. Kelly was born in Calhoun, Okla., and was a descendant of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
She lived in Santa Cruz for about 35 years before moving to South Lake Tahoe more than 20 years ago.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by daughters Patricia Mullennix of San Jose and Gayle Bealer of Santa Cruz; son Gary Hartsell of Texas; sister Helen Gill of Oregon; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great- grandchild.
Her husband, Charles Kelly, died in 1994.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Santa Cruz Memorial Park, 1927 Ocean St. Extension.

Agnes Larson
Services are today for Agnes Larson, who died Friday at Watsonville Community Hospital. She was 86.
Mrs. Larson was born in Gainesville, Texas, and lived in Watsonville since 1945. She worked as a nurse at Watsonville Community Hospital for 30 years.
Mrs. Larson was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lily of the Valley Chapter.
She is survived by a son, Albert Provence of Pasadena; daughters Linda Parsons of Roseville and Dolores Chamberlain of Watsonville; a daughter-in-law, Patty Hamilton of Arizona; a brother, J. B. Hancock of Idaho; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Delmar Larson, died in December, and a grandson, Roy Hamilton, died in 1989.
Services were held Monday at Community Lutheran Church.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Pajaro Valley Mausoleum.
Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel.

Isaac P. Echevarria
Services are today for Isaac P. Echevarria, who died Saturday at Watsonville Community Hospital. He was 59.
Mr. Echevarria was born in San Antonio, Texas, and moved to the Watsonville area when he was a child. He worked as a janitor for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. Echevarria of Watsonville; his mother, Mary Echevarria of Watsonville; sons Eric Echevarria of Capitola and Timmy Echevarria of Watsonville; brothers Danny Echevarria of Hollister and Abel Echevarria of Madera; and a sister, Mary Martinez of Los Angeles.
Visitation and a service were held Monday evening.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Pioneer Cemetery in Watsonville.

David Joseph Rose
Services will be Wednesday for David Joseph Rose, who died Saturday at Dominican Hospital. He was 57.
Mr. Rose was born in Hollister and had lived in Watsonville for 25 years. He graduated from Hollister High School and earned a bachelorís and masterís degree from Chico State University.
Mr. Rose was a self-employed entrepreneur who began a partnership produce business as a Pajaro Valley grower and shipper. He then began a commercial cooling business, and he and partners owned Watsonville-based Romakool Berry Cooling for more than 20 years.
Mr. Rose served on the board of directors of the Pajaro Valley Bank, now known as First National Bank.
He was also a member of the Lone Tree Duck Club in Gustine for 25 years and loved hunting, fishing and his black Labs, Gala and Pippin.
Family members say Mr. Rose was known for his generosity and kindness and was most proud of establishing a close family.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Virginia K. Rose of Watsonville; his parents, Joseph and Josephine Rose of Hollister; sons David and Mark Rose, both of Watsonville; a daughter, Holly Rose of Watsonville; and a brother, Dennis Rose of Salinas.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrickís Church in Watsonville.
Contributions are preferred to Hospice Caring Project of Santa Cruz County, 6851 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003, or to The American Cancer Society, Dominican Hospital Education Building, 1555 Soquel Drive, Santa Cruz, CA 95065.
Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel.

LeRoy Wallace ĎWallyí Wilson
Services will be Wednesday for LeRoy Wallace "Wally" Wilson, who died June 25 at home in Capitola. He was 72.
Mr. Wilson was born in Corona and moved to Santa Cruz County in 1955.
He was active in the real estate and appraisal service community, and helped and encouraged many of his employees to start their own business and realize their dreams.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of five days, Laurinda Monti Wilson of Capitola; a brother, Ethan Wilson of Fair Oaks; a daughter, Jennifer Lee Frances Wilson Frank of Pacific Grove; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter and one nephew.
Services will be 4:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 846 Front St., Santa Cruz.
Arrangements are by Pacific Gardens Chapel.

Bobby Hernandez
Services are today for Bobby Hernandez, who died Saturday of injuries suffered in an auto accident on Highway 129 in San Benito County. He was 21.
Mr. Hernandez was born in Lovington, N.M., and had lived in Freedom for seven years.
For the past three years, he worked for the city of Watsonville doing road maintenance and had just earned his Class A driverís license to drive large vehicles for the city, said his brother, Renee.
He cheered people up and was good at making them laugh, his brother said. He loved music, a good joke, running, playing with his nephews and was a fan of the San Francisco 49ers.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Garcia of Watsonville; his mother, Alicia Hernandez of Freedom; brothers Jose Jimenez of New Mexico and Rene Hernandez of Freedom; sisters Erica Rodriguez of Los Angeles, Maribel Gutierrez of Mexico and Rosa Hernandez of Freedom; grandparents Consuelo Lopez and Isidro Hernandez, both of Mexico; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Patrickís Church.
Cremation will follow.
Arrangements are by Mehlís Colonial Chapel.
