Death, Burial, Cemetery & Obituaries

Neale, Elisabeth Urania Binkley Bowman (Betty) - passed away in her 91st year at McMaster Medical Centre after a short illness on Monday, August 9th, 2004. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Bert. Loving mother of George (Miriam), Jay (Marilyn), Doug (Beverly), Diane Livermore (Alex), Linda Adams (David). Dearly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was the last surviving child of the late Annie and George Bowman of West Hamilton. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Betty's involvement with the Women's Institute along with her wonderful cooking and baking will be lovingly remembered. Visitation will take place at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of Betty's Service at 12 o'clock. Cremation has taken place. A private family Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the CNIB or MS Society would be appreciated by the family. E-mail remembrances welcomed.

Bulley, Elizabeth Capitola "Cappy" - Suddenly at her home in Ancaster on Thursday August 5, 2004, in her 82nd year. Dear mother of Garry (Wendy) of Ancaster, Richard (Frances) of Mount Forest, Lorraine Bulley of Burlington and Pat (John Winegarden) of Ancaster. Loving grandmother of Richard (Sandra), Chris (Patricia), Jeff, Tracy, Sandra, Joanna, Matthew, Kelly and Katie and great grandmother of Matthew, Jake, Jessie and Abbygail. Sadly missed by her sisters Hazel (Steve Boyko) of Ancaster, Georgia Berry of B.C., Florence (Bill Dinsmore) of Meaford and her brother Grant Rumley (Mary) of Dundas. Predeceased by her brother Leslie. Cappy was a member of the R.C.L. Br # 36 Ladies Auxilliary. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Service for Cappy will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment White Chapel Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Midak, Helen Sophie (The Avon Lady) Peacefully at McMaster Medical Centre on Saturday July 31, 2004, in her 85th year. Loved mother of Valerie Pipe and her husband George of Dundas, dear grandmother of Andy and his friend Crystal & Mike and his friend Elene. Sister of John & Mae Wozniak and their son Jack of Chicago. Friends will be received by the family Tuesday afternoon and evening 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas where the service will be held on Wednesday August 4,2004 at 11am. Cremation to follow.

Rayner, Marjorie - Surrounded by her family,at St. Peter's Hospital on Thursday, July 29th, 2004 in her 62nd year. Beloved wife and best friend of Larry for the past 39 years. Loving mother of Sheri and Michelle and her husband Nordy. Devoted grandmother of Kristi-Anne and Wesley. Survived by her sister Yvonne Osmond and cousin Heather Pattison and their families. Predeceased by her parents Al and Isobel Lee. Friends will be received by the family Monday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where a Service for Marjorie will be held on Tuesday at 11o'clock. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In kindness, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Crewson, John Edward - After a short and courageous battle with cancer, John died peacefully at home, with his loving wife Karen (Llewellyn) of 31 years at his side, on Tuesday, July 27, 2004. He will be sadly missed by son David and his wife Laurie, daughter Shannon (Toad) and her husband Jay, son Joshua and his girlfriend Pam. Loving grandfather to Kalea-Ann (princess) and Hunter John. Survived by his mother Doris and her husband Bob Putman. Dearest son-in-law to Esther and Lorne Llewellyn. John is now together in Heaven with his father Edward Morgan Crewson. Our lives were sometimes distant but always joined by the heart. Sisters Carol (Jack), Debbie (Raymond), Donna (Dennis), Cheryl (Dave). Brother-in-law to Debbie (Tony), Larry (Mishell), Cindy (Roger), Lorna (Jim), Lisa (Norm) and Bill (Pam). A loving and caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. We will all carry our own special memories of time spent by one of your great fires. A special thanks to John's long time employer and great friends, David and Diane Mills of Blue River Transport and a warm thanks to Butler Buildings Canada for their support during this difficult time. Many thanks also to all John and Karen's friends who offered their ongoing love and support during his illness. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 29, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Service for John will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Little, Jean Elaine (nee Henderson) - It is with a great deal of sadness that our mother Jean passed away on Wednesday, July 21st, 2004 at Extendicare Nursing Home in her 87th year. Jean was predeceased by her husband Leonard and will be deeply missed by her children Jill (Paul Bradford), Faye (Ron Calder), Brian (Mari Little), Ed and Lorraine (Mike Waller). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Aaron, Aidan, Drew, Kelly, Alisha, Shane, Meghan and Ben. Jean is predeceased by her sister Ora and will be greatly missed by her brothers Goff, Burr, Gale, Merritt and sister Judy. A Memorial Service will take place at Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas on Saturday, July 24th at 11 o'clock followed immediately with a reception at the Cattel Centre. Interment Carluke Cemetery. Donations to St. Paul's United Church would be appreciated by the family.

MacIntyre, Ronald H. - Suddenly at the Hamilton General Hospital on Friday August 20, 2004 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Winnifred. Dearly loved father of Ron & Rose, Rhonda & Jim Bennitt, & faithful Zak. Loved grandfather of Jennifer, Danny & Stephen, and James & Lynsey. Survived by his brother Zan. Retired from the Hamilton Fire Department as Lieutenant in 1984 & was a Lifetime Honourary Member of The Hamilton Firefighters Drum Corps. The family will gather to receive friends at the Hamilton Firefighters Drum Corps Hall, 175 Dartnall Road (above Hwy.53) Hamilton, on Tuesday August 24,2004 From 7 to 9 p.m. Donations to the Hamilton General Hospital (Burn Unit) would be appreciated. Mary was an active Life Long Member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Dundas, an Honourary member of the Dundas Golf &Curling Club,a retired employee of Confederation Life,and recently attended her 50th class reunion at McMaster University.Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 - 4pm and 7 -9 pm at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street. Dundas. The funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Dundas on Wednesday August 25,2004, at 1 p.m. Interment Grove Cemetery, Dundas. Sharpe, Edward Joseph "Ed" - Suddenly at McMaster Hospital on Wednesday August 18, 2004, in his 58th year. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Rayner) and dear father of Dee-Anna (Paul), Shelly and Lesley. Loving grandfather of William, Mary, Nicole and one to come. Ed will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters; Gary (Bonnie) and family, Donna and family, the late John (Margaret) and family, Kay (the late Alfy) and family, David (Marlene) and family and Janet (Frank) and family, and his mother-in-law Mary Hunt. Friends will be received by the family on Friday August 20, 2004 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, and Saturday morning from 10 until the Celebration of Ed' s life at 11 o'clock at the BRANT BIBLE CHURCH, Highway #5, Burlington, (east of Brant Street). AUGUSTINE'S CHURCH ( 58 SYDENHAM STREET, DUNDAS) for Eucharistic Liturgy at 11 o'clock. Interment St. Augustine's Cemetery. Horlacher, Eric - Gently at home while hearing the voices and feeling the touch of his family, Eric passed away on Monday, August 16, 2004 in his 82nd year. Devoted husband of Isa (nee Andrews) for 56 years. Sadly missed by daughter Anne and husband Tony McNeill and son Drew and wife Jeanelle Horlacher. A wonderful Grand-dad to John, Christopher, Lindsay and Scott. Remembered by nieces and nephews in England and Archie and Noeline Andrews and their families in New Zealand and Cambridge, Ontario. Eric was a long time retiree of International Harvester. Special thanks to the Circle of Friends for their support and to the health care professionals for their kind care. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday evening from 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where a Service for Eric will be held on Thursday at 2 o'clock. Fyfe, David Hill - passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 8, 2004, in his 64th year. Loving husband of Gwen and father of Wayne (Christine), Wendy (Ron), Jim (Alana), Jean-Paul (Fiona) and Michelle. Dave will be sadly missed by his 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his brothers Bob and George. Friends will be received by the family of Friday afternoon and evening from 3-5 & 7-9 at the CATTEL CENTRE, 45 Main Street, Dundas (beside the Funeral Home). The Celebration of Dave's Life will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the CATTEL, EATON & CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation to follow. Expressions of sympathy to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
