Death, Burial, Cemetery & Obituaries

HARKER, Rosemary Jean - Peacefully at home with family by her side, on January 7, 2006. Daughter of the late Henry and Florence Harker. Predeceased by her brother Arthur and loving sister to Shirley (late John Bates), Evelyn (Gerald) Brown and Irene (Jim) Horsley. Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Also sadly missed by many relatives in England. Rosemary will be forevever missed by her furry friends. Rosemary worked as a secretary for 38 years at Westdale Secondary School and spent many hours volunteering at Parkview Secondary School. She was also a member of the Melrose Chancel Choir and LIFE Program at Ryerson Church. Special thanks to Dr. Garth Noad, Dr. Greg Curnew, Dr. Peter Ellis and Susan Polawski. Thanks to CCAC, Bayshore Nurses and Paramed support workers for their care of Rosemary. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday evening from 7-9pm at the Cattel Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A celebration of Rosemary's life will take place at MELROSE UNITED CHURCH 86 Homewood (at Locke street) Wednesday afternoon at 1:30pm. A private family Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Melrose United Church, Cancer Assistance Program or the Juravinski Cancer Centre.

KOIKE, Nobue Katie - Peacefully in the presence of her family, at the McMaster University Medical Centre on January 7, 2006. Loving mother of Leonard (deceased) and his wife Eri, Yuki and his wife Michi, Lorena and her husband Ken Woods. Also predeceased by husband George Mitsugi and brother Midori Uematsu of Japan. Greatly missed by brother Shigeru Uematsu and his wife Hanako, sisters Kitako Takahashi and Kimie Koike and her husband Mamoru all of Japan. Survived by step grand daughters Christine Carter and Karen Woods-Legari. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and companions Jiro and Miko. Special thanks to Dr. Patel, Dr. Shaw, Dr. Keith and all their staff for their compassionate care. Additional thanks for the care given by the McMaster Laboratory Staff and the Doctors and Nurses in the Emergency Department. The family would also like to thank Reverend Eiko Hosaka for the friendship and support she has given. Friends will be received on Tuesday January 10th between 2-4 & 7-9 pm. at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday January 11th at 2:00pm. Followed by Interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hamilton Japanese United Church, 715 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton, Ontario. L8V 4J9.

Price , Joan Ann - At home on Sunday, January 8, 2006, with family by her side in her 70th year. Dearly loved and missed by her husband Bob and sons Jason (Shelley) and Blair (Bev). Remembered always by her brother Bob Ballagh (Sandra), sister Alice Remple of Victoria, BC, brother-in-law Jim (late Terry) and her granddaughter Taylor and step-grandson Christopher. Predeceased by sister Marion Marquardt. Joan was a devoted wife and mother. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Service will take place at ST. MARK'S UNITED CHURCH, 1 Lyndale Drive, Dundas on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In kindness, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Riley, Cornelia L. - At St. Peter's Hospital on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the age of 89. Corrie will be missed by her sister Hetty, relatives and many friends in Holland, Canada and USA. At her request, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Cremation has taken place.

Orr, Thomas "Tom" - After a brief illness with his family by his side at McMaster Hospital on Sunday, January 1, 2006, in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Betty and dear father of Michelle (David McMahon) of Caistor Centre, Kevin (Karen) of Copetown and Rebecca (Mark Daum) of Dundas. Loving grandfather of Elizabeth, Patrick, Connor and Molly and sadly missed by his extended family in N. Ireland. As per Tom's wishes, cremation and a private family Service have taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the McMaster Children's Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the staff at McMaster's 4Z and to Sarah at the I.C.U.

CLARKE, Violet, Alice - Peacefully on Saturday February 18, 2006 in her 94th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Roderick W. Clarke (1979), sister May Bayliss (1986), brother Walter Cleaves (2005). Violet is survived by her son Bill (Kaye) Clarke, Brantford; daughter Marilyn (Doug) dePass, Hamilton. Sadly missed by grandsons Stephen (Gillian) Clarke, Scott and Michael dePass. Granddaughter Daphne Clarke and sister Rose Billo (Brantford). Violet was a regular member of St. James Anglican Church and a Past Matron of the Eastern Star, Dundas Chapter, now Westminister Chapter #176 Hamilton. Thanks to the Georgian for their compassionate care. Friends will be received by the family Tuesday afternoon and evening from 4-6 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A celebration of Violet's life will take place on Wednesday at ST JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 137 Melville Street Dundas at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Grove Cemetery. An Eastern Star Memorial service will take place at 7 pm. on Tuesday. Donations to the C.N.I.B. or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Rivera, Tomasa, Yaneza - Peacefully with her family by her side at the McMaster Medical Centre on Friday February 17, 2006. Predeceased by her loving husband Teodoro. Much loved mother to Linda (Michael) Robillard, Rogelio (Linda) Rivera, and predeceased by son Teodoro jr. (Elena) Rivera. Fondly remembered by 5 grandchildren Margarita Robillard, Crystal (Raymond) Daez, Rey, Ronald, and Richie Rivera. Loving great-grandma to Serena. Also sadly missed by many relatives in the Philippines. Loved by Barb and Aveliana and son AJ who were wonderful caregivers to Tomasa, and close friend Carolina. Tomasa was also a great Mother in law to Mike. Tomasa was a quiet, strong, and hard working Mother who was very likable and had a very generous heart. Friends will be received by the family Monday afternoon and evening from 4-6 and 7-9 p.m. at the Cattel Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Mass will take place at ST AUGUSTINES CHURCH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas, on Tuesday at 11o'clock. Reciting of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary for the soul will take place at 5p.m. and Prayer vigil at 7 p.m. on Monday. Cremation to follow. Donation to the McMaster Medical Centre Haematology Clinic would be appreciated by the family.

Tomlinson, Adella "Bunnie" - Peacefully on Friday February 17, 2006 in her 78th year. Predeceased by her best friend and husband of 52 years Reginald. Loving mother to Mark and Carlene, Garth and Dale, and Patty and Dan (Eddy). Bunnie will be missed by her grandchildren Darryl, Dana and David Much loved sister to Marylee Moore. Also sadly missed by her dear friend Eunice Pepper. Friends will be received by the family Monday afternoon and evening from 4-6 and 7-9pm. at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where a celebration of Bunnie's life will take place on Tuesday at 2 p.m.. Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation.

Ottmann, George "Kenneth" - at Brantford General Hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2006, in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice (nee Dyment), and dear father of Sheldon (Carol) of St. George and the late Dorothy (Stan Howe) of Freelton. Sadly missed by his 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where the Service for Kenneth will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment Mt. Zion Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Kloetstra, Byron John - Having run his earthly race with faith, courage, dignity and joy Byron peacefully entered his eternal home on February 11, 2006 in his 21st year. Dearly loved and cherished son of Richard and Sheryll Kloetstra. Byron will be forever loved and missed by his sister Candice and, brother Andrew as well as the love of his life and fiancâÁ Danielle Koppelaar. Left to grieve are also his grandparents John and Liz Kloetstra and Peter Dendekker Sr. Predeceased by his nana Nell Dendekker (2005). Byron left his mark on so many lives, young and old and among those who will never forget him are his aunts and uncles: Joanne and Fred Bouwmeester, Jim and Susan Holubeshen, Audrey and Jim Koopman, Lorraine and Matt Hirst, Cyndi and Edward Laman, Peter and Sandra Dendekker, David and Cheryl Dendekker. Predeceased by his uncle Dan Kloetstra (1999). Unforgettable cousin of so many who will always be grateful for his life. Also remembered by many friends and family overseas and in the United States. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Funeral Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at Grace Free Reformed Church, 17 Patterson Avenue, Brantford. Interment White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Rehoboth Christian School (Copetown) would be gratefully accepted. Psalm 46 and Psalm 103.
