Death, Burial, Cemetery & Obituaries

Anderson, Bruce Andrew - Passed peacefully at McMaster University Hospital on Saturday, June 9, 2007 in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his wife Marjorie and brother Donald. Will be dearly missed by long time friends Barbara and Gordon McPartlin and their children Maureen and Brad. In keeping with Bruce's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private Interment will take place at a later date. If so desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Bagshaw, Kathryne Jacqueline (nee Fox) - Peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday June 5, 2007. Loving wife and friend of Fred for 15 years. Predeceased by Edward Cliff (1985). Kathryne is survived by her mother Margaret Fox and predeceased by her father Jack. Cherished mother of Karen (John) Ryckman, Sharon (Bob) Caddick, Edward and companion Anna Cliff and Kimberly (William) Warden. Sadly missed by her brother John (Anne) Fox and sisters Denise (Ray) Busby, Judy (John) Nowacki, Maureen (Joe) Adams and predeceased by Ellen (John) Young. Remembered always by her grandchildren Amber, Kyle, Taylor, Alex and Taylor and great-grandchildren Jenny and Cody. Kathryne will also be sadly missed by Karen and Jim Carpenter. A special thank-you to the nursing staff of the VON and St. Elizabeth's Home Care. A Celebration of Kathyrne's Life will take place on Friday June 8, 2007 at the Cattel Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas at 2p.m. A private family Interment has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Assistance Program would be appreciated by the family.

Cooley, Roland Brian - Peacefully at his home on Hatt Street with family nearby, on Monday, June 4, 2007 in his 47th year. Predeceased by his father Roland Sr. in 2006. Always loved and missed by his mom, Diane, brother Roger (Debbie) and sister Barb (Shawn) and close friend Linda and all his nieces and nephews. Roland enjoyed baseball and hockey and was a team player with the Wednesday Night Baseball League and the BCL Hockey team. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Henderson Hospital for their kindness, compassion and friendship and who will probably always remember Roland for bringing them baked goods. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Roland's Service will take place on Friday at 11 o'clock. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Foster , Donna Wilma (nee Nancekivell) - Peacefully at home with family by her side on Sunday, June 3, 2007 in her 61st year. Beloved wife of Dale and loving mother to Robert (Audrey), Jacqueline Ward (Late Lyle) and Rosalind Glousher (Jeremy). Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Bess Nancekivell, daughter Patricia Munro and sister Mary Allen. Missed dearly by her brother William (Nancy) and son-in-law Keith. Remembered always by her grandchildren Mathew, Tony, Michael and Stephen. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of Donna's Service at 2:00 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place. Donna was a long time member of the St. John's Therapy Dog Program and therefore in lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton Branch, 65 Nebo Road, Unit #5, Hamilton, ON L8W 2C9, would be appreciated by the family.

Lang, M. Eleanore - Peacefully in her 92nd year at Streamway Villa in Cobourg, Ontario. Loving wife of the late John "Jack" Lang (1998). Much loved and admired mother of Margaret W. Kropf of Cobourg. Cherished sister of the late Alan Bell, Hugh Bell and survived by Lex Bell. Eleanore will be fondly remembered by her 2 grandchildren Jacqueline Kropf of Canmore Alberta and Stephan Kropf of Quesnel BC. Eleanore was a vibrant articulate women who will be missed by many friends and neighbors. Friends will be received by the family Friday afternoon from 1 until the Celebration of Eleanore's Life at 2p.m at the Cattel Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home 53 Main Street, Dundas. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzhiemer's Society would be appreciated by the family.

Boles, William Marvin "Pete" - It is with great sadness we announce the death of Marvin on May 28, 2007 in his 75th year at McMaster Hospital. Loving husband of Muriel for 55 years. Dedicated father of Marvin Jr. (Jan), Janet McManamy (John), Bill (Linda), Dan (Ruth), Lisa Clarke and Tracy. Predeceased by son Harold. Dear brother of Elsie Wrigget, Shirley Taylor (Frank), Clarence Boles (Joan). Dear grandpa of Tina, Nikki, Jenny, Janine, Mike, Peter, Christina, Kevin, Miranda, Jamie, Eric, Jessica and great-grandfather of Davin, Tyler, Ashley, Mercedes and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday evening from 6-8 at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Marvin's Service will be held on Thursday at 2 o'clock. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at McMaster Hospital.

Dennie, Gladys Beatrice "Pinkie" - Suddenly at her home in Ancaster on Monday, May 28, 2007 in her 71st year. Loving mother of Patricia, Tracie, Colleen and Shawn. Dear sister to Yvonne and Donna and Ordell (Connie). Fondly remembered by daughter-in-law Terri. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Dan and Christopher. Predeceased by her son Michael and sisters Elva and Bettie. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday evening from 6-8 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Gladys' Service will be held on Friday at 11 o'clock. Williston, Marjorie Elizabeth (nee Smith) - passed away peacefully at McMaster Health Sciences in Hamilton on Monday, May 28, 2007 in her 76th year. Beloved wife of Lloyd and dear mother of Sue Anne (Harry), Terry, Kimberley and Blair (Sandra). Loving Nana to Megan, Katey, Krista and Trevor. Dear sister to Ina Roscoe. Marjorie was a retired employee of McMaster Health Sciences for 21 years. A special thank you to the staff on Ward 3Y. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday evening from 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, where Marjorie's Service will be held on Thursday at 11 o'clock. Flynn, Bernard - Peacefully at the St. Joseph's Hospital on Thursday May, 24 2007. Loving husband and best friend of Betty. Proud father of Stephanie and Barry. Loving brother of Pat, Joe and wife Marie and Kay and Mike Gawrylash. Best bud of Reg White. Bernie was a retired employee of Slater Steels, a member of the United Steel Workers and also a member of the Cactus Capital Retirees Golf Club. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Angela Woods for her caring and support. Farhangi (Seifiyeh), Ghamar-al-molouk - Peacefully at home on May 16, 2007, ascended to the spiritual realm. Loving wife of the late Dr. Masih Farhangi. Cherished mother of Dr. F. Jabbari, Shahla, Fariborz and Shahbaz Farhangi. Also sadly missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation for the support and kindness shown by Dr. J. E. Williams. Rutkowski, Anna - Peacefully at St. Joseph's Villa on Sunday, May 6, 2007 in her 93rd year. Predeceased by husband Walter. Dearly loved and missed by Maria Rutkowski (Late Vicotr) who considered her a mom, by Betty Cameron (Mike), Kathy Tannous (Elias), Richard Rutkowski (Annie) and Victor Jr. and their families and friends. Friends will be received by the family at the Cattel, Eaton and Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m until the time of Anna's Funeral Mass at ST. AUGUSTINE'S CHURCH, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Holy Sepluchre. Donations to the Parkinson Society would be appreciated. A very special thank you to all the staff at St. Joseph's Villa, Rose Garden for their kindness, care and compassion and also to Father Raymond.

Wisniewski, Ziggy - Ziggy, the Contented Farmer", passed away peacefully at the McMaster Medical Centre, on Saturday May 5, 2007. Ziggy was predeceased by his loving wife Cecilia of 49 years. Cherished father of Ziggy (Darlene) of Kitchener, Ron (Marti) of Copetown, Lizzy of Ottawa, Eley of Copetown and Eddie (Ursula) of Cambridge. Much loved brother to Cesia Blaszyk, Wacka Domanska, Leszek Wiszniewski and predeceased by sister Zuitka Janicki. Ziggy will also be sadly missed by his nine grandchildren James, Joseph, Mike, Danny, Andrew, Amanda, Christine, David and Trevor. Friends will be received by the family Tuesday afternoon and evening from 1-3 and 7-9 at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. A Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday at ST. ANN'S PARISH, 11 Wilson Street, West Ancaster at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to The War Amps would be appreciated by the family.

Hartsell, Thalia - Suddenly at McMaster Hospital on Thursday, May 3, 2007, in her 80th year. Thalia will be dearly missed by her friend and caregiver, Nora Rigo, her sister Madeline, step-brothers Larry and Lester, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Elwood and Gerald. Thalia was a dedicated volunteer with the Salvation Army, as Cub Leader for 10 years and a member of the Salvation Army Band. Thalia retired from Stelco Steel in 1986, after 30 years of service. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday evening from 6-8 and Monday afternoon from 1 until the Celebration of Thalia's Life at 2 o'clock at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. Interment St. Augustine's Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

Schipper, Herta Frieda - After a courageous battle with cancer, at St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton on Wednesday, May 1, 2007, Herta (Merz) Schipper, in her 77th year. Beloved wife and best friend for over 50 years to Kurt Schipper. Loving mother of Mark (Lorna) of Greensville and Melinda (Brett) of Stouffville. Beloved Oma to Rachel, Curtis, Kevin, Megan, Cameron and Connor. Dear sister to Anita, Werner and the late Artur. Aunt to many nieces and nephews in Europe. Herta was a longtime member of Dundas Baptist Church, and an Honorary Life Member of the Baptist Women's Missions Society. She was also a great friend and supporter of the Dundas Concert Band. Herta loved life, music and cooking. Thank you to the staff of the Henderson Hospital and St. Peter's Hospital for their loving care of Herta, and to her many friends for their love and support. The family will honour her life with visitation at the Dundas Baptist Church, 201 Governor's Road, Dundas, on Friday, May 4, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. A service of celebration for Herta's life will take place at the Dundas Baptist Church on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dundas Baptist Church Heritage Fund or the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton.
