Dolly Payne
passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 13, 2004. Dolly (Beckett) Payne at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of the late Alexander Payne (2002). Loving mother of Susan Walker (Raoul) and Joanne Szabo (Pete McLean), all of Guelph. Cherished Nanny of Kristine Bird (Ashley) of Shuswap, B.C.; Lesley-Anne Clugston (Brad), Jennifer Szabo (Mike Payne), all of Guelph and Cindy Hare (Jed Muir) of Vancouver, B.C. Great grandma of Kaela, Cody, Dylan, Jordan, Shayne and Tarys. Sadly missed by her sister Irene Puddy of Toronto. Dear friend of Jacob Kuiken. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 2 to 4 pm Sunday). Service at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL on Monday, May 17 at 1:00pm with The Rev. Laurie Nicholl
Suddenly as the result of an accident with her husband, Dr. Peter Mezciems on Sunday, May 16, 2004. Laurie, at the age of 56 years, was the loving mother of Sarah (Dario) of Italy and Adrienne of Ottawa. Sadly missed by their father, Jim Nicholl. Dear sister of Randy Agnew, David Agnew, both of B.C. and Deborah Bonk (David) of Oakville, and daughter of Davina Agnew of Toronto. Always remembered by her nieces, Ashleigh and Courtney and her nephew, Mitchell. Laurie will be missed by the many colleagues and patients she touched in her work as a physiotherapist. Peter, at the age of 56 years was the loving father of Rebecca, Rachel and Mathew. Sadly missed by their mother, Karen. Dearly loved son of the late Olga and Edgar Mezciems. Peter was a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine – University of Toronto 1972 and practiced in Kirkland Lake, Barrie and since April, 1990 at the Homewood Health Centre, Guelph. He was a founding member and current President-Elect of the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine, the International Representative to the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a founding member of the International Society of Addiction Medicine. Peter was also a clinical Assistant Professor at McMaster University and a contributing author to the Oxford textbook of Family Medicine. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 7 to 9 pm Thursday, 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm Friday). Services will be held at Lakeside Church, Victoria Road N. and Conservation Road, Guelph on Saturday, May 22 at 1:30 pm. Cremation Woodlawn Crematorium. Died peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington on Tuesday, May 18, 2004. Helena (Liptai) Alfoldi at the age of 59 years. Dear wife of the late Frank Alfoldi (1981). Loved mother of Margaret Lopes (Scott) of Stoney Creek and Anita Alfoldi (Barry) of Kitchener. Loving grandmother of Brandy Bard, Joshua Lopes, Chad and Justin Alfoldi. Always remembered by her brother, Frank Liptai (Margie) of Guelph, her nephew, Robert Liptai and niece, Nicole Liptai and her children, Emma and Mia, all of Guelph. Loved grandma of Marla Werner (Michael), Scott Tobe, Matthew Tobe, Kevin Greenspan, Shauna Greenspan, Maya Tobe and Jordan Tobe and great-grandmother of Ethan and Kaylee Werner. Ron Armishaw
at the Guelph General Hospital on Saturday, May 22, 2004. Ron Armishaw at the age of 62 years. Husband of the late Phyllis Ferguson (2003). Dear father of Wendy Clark, Jennifer Armishaw (Paul), Ron Armishaw (Betty), Lyla Cartwright, Claudette Ferguson, Paul Ferguson, all of Guelph and Phillip Ferguson of Ridgewood. Sadly missed by his eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Loved brother of Dorothy Wakefield (Roy)and Howie, all of Guelph. Predeceased by Hazel (2002). Jack Boyle
Peacefully, at the Guelph General Hospital, went home to the Lord at the age of 82 on Saturday, May 29, 2004. Jack was the beloved husband of the late Alice Boyle (nee Nash) 2000. He was the cherished father of Catherine Szabo and her husband George of Weston, David and his wife Dianne of Brampton and John and his wife Beverley of Stayner. Jack was a proud grandfather to Jason, Jennifer, Allison, George, Jonathan, Yvonne and T.J. He was the dear brother of Jean Stutt of Dundas. Davis, Robert Edwin

Frederick Fox
Peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 6, 2004. Ted Fox at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Mary for 56 years. He will be sadly missed by his sons, David (Michele), Robert (Sharon) and his grandchildren, Chantel, Brandon, Ryan, Mathew, Sean and Justin. Ted is survived by his brother Charles of London. He was predeceased by his son Larry (1970) and his brother George (2004). Ted belonged to the Armed Forces, 12th Field Regiment and was a long time member of the Col. John McCrae Branch 234 Royal Canadian Legion. At Ted's request, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will held at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Thursday, June 10th at 1:30pm with Rev. John Borthwick officiating. Cremation and inurnment Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Community Care Access Centre of Wellington-Dufferin would be appreciated.

Dr. Christopher Rathwell
At the Guelph General Hospital on Monday, June 7, 2004. Dr. Chris Rathwell at the age of 51 years. Loving husband of Karen (Prowse) Rathwell. Very proud father of Donald Kingston Rathwell, Kaitlyn Joanne Rathwell and Kelly Louise Rathwell. Dear brother of Mary Jane Freedman (Edward) of Hamilton and John Paul Rathwell of Duncan, B.C. Son-in-law of Helen Prowse of Oakville. Sadly missed by the Prowse, Blair, Fainmel and Freedman families. Chris was a graduate of the McMaster Medical School, Class of '82. He was a well-respected family physician in Guelph for 18 years and became the Regional Coroner for Niagara in June, 2003. Ray Snowdon
Peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 8, 2004. Ray Snowdon at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Freda (Eatock) Snowdon. Loving father of William (Mary) of Waterdown, Michael (Rose) of Montreal and Brian (Janice) of Bolton. Cherished grandfather of Thomas, Benjamin and Jeffery. Dear friends of Deloris & Leo Yaskowich. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. J. Hobson, Dr. C. Shafir, Dr. B. Barry, Dr. S. Brodowsky, the nursing staff and the volunteer in the cancer unit clinic at the Guelph General Hospital, as well as Sandra Howitt and staff of Saint Elizabeth Health Care for their kindness and quality care. Cremation has taken place at Woodlawn Crematorium. A private memorial service will be held. An open house will be held at the family home on Saturday June 12th from 2:00 – 4:00pm.
