WILKES, Robert “Bob”- Peacefully surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at the age of 73. Loving father of Harley and his wife Terri of Edmonton, Susan and her husband Dwayne of Calgary, Scott and his wife Judy of Oshawa and Brad and his wife Darlene of Oshawa. Dear grandpa of Holly, Brandon, Nicole, Colton, Amanda and Walker. Bob will be remembered by his good friends Pete and Sue Roessel, his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Memorial donations to the Salvation Army Bowmanville would be appreciated.

Loving father of Christine Wild of Newmarket, Henry of Warsaw and Jerry and his wife Trudy of Peterborough. Caring Ja Ja of Jason, Colin, Janese, Kaylee, Kylie, Hope and Karlie. Evelyn G. Taylor (Miller)
TAYLOR, Evelyn G. (Miller) (former resident of Halifax, Nova Scotia) – peacefully with her family at her side at Strathaven Lifecare Centre, Bowmanville, on Sunday, July 15, 2007, in her 92nd year. Wife of the late Ralph Taylor and Ambrose Miller. Dear mother of Irvin R. Miller and his wife Sharon of Newcastle and the late Arnold. Mother-in-law of Barbara Miller of Oshawa. Sadly missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by five sisters and two brothers, all of the Maritimes. Lovingly remembered by nephew Roy Burke and his wife Donna of Oshawa. Donations in Evelyn’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by her family.

Loving mother of Barbara and her husband David Cullingworth of Newcastle, and Robert Tucker and his wife Sharon Powell of Montreal. Sadly missed by grandchildren James, Douglas, John, Elizabeth, and great-grandchildren Tommy, Emily, Katrina, Ashlee, and Anthony. Dear sister of Louise Zarbatany of Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory to Foster brooke’s Alive Program would be appreciated by her family.

WILLIAMS, Philip Hugh – (retired from General Motors) – passed away peacefully at The Wynfield Residence, Oshawa, on Friday, July 13, 2007, in his 91st year. Phil, loving husband of the late Wilda Johnson and the late Aresta Ann (nee Martin). Step-father of Glenda Johnson and her husband Raymond Los of Norwood and Gary Johnson of Toronto. Step-grandfather of Krista and Greg and their daughter Ava, Mark, and Jennie. Uncle of Sandra Kelsey, and also survived by many other nieces and nephews. Memorial donations to the Boy Scouts of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral Details: A funeral service will be held at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Tuesday, July 17, at 11:00 a.m., with visiting for one hour prior to the service. Interment Bond Head Cemetery.

John Stewart of Newcastle(Wilmot Creek). Loving Husband of Shirley (nee Burbidge) for 26 years and the late Margaret (nee Ashburn) for 34 years. Father of Michael and David of England. Grandfather of Nicholas, Louise and Samantha. Dear brother of Winnifred of Southhampton, England, and the Late Jean of Blackpool, England. Predeceased by his parents John Andrew Stewart and Winnifred Elizabeth Stewart. Fran, best friend and dearly loved wife for 21 years of William (Bill) Pozer of Newcastle. Loving mother of Christine Thrussell of Oshawa, Shannon Thrussell of Toronto, and the late Geoffrey Thrussell. Step-mother of Kel Pozer. Survived by daughter-in-law Karen Thrussell and grandchildren Tyler and Sean. Dear sister of Mary and the late Daniel McWilliams, Ellen and her husband Harry Sullivan, Hannah Mezzabotta and her husband Henry, and Alexander Low. Sister-in-law of Heather Low and Edna and her husband Ron Poffenroth. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. A special thank-you to all of the caring ladies at Foster brooke for their compassionate care during Fran’s illness. Collin Cureatz
CUREATZ, Collin Lawrence – It is with great sadness and unending love that Kathryn and Sam Cureatz, Justice of the Peace, announce the tragic death of their son Collin on Friday, June 29, 2007, in Banff, Alberta. Collin, 23, leaves his loving brothers Draydon and Rion and Stephanie, and his true love Julie McCluskey. In celebration of his graduation from the University of Guelph with distinction, Collin was on a trans-Canada bicycle ride at the time of the accident in the Canadian Rockies. A lover of carpentry, hockey and music, he was to join the staff of Trinity College in Port Hope, his Alma Mater, in September. This wonderful young man will be sorely missed by former classmates and staff. In Collin’s memory, donations to the Chaplaincy Department of Trinity College or the Trauma Unit of Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated by his family.

Loving mother of Joanne and her husband Paul Mongraw of Peterborough, Lynda and her husband John McAlley of Burlington, Kay and her late husband Gord Snape of Peterborough, the late Anne (survived by her husband John Owen) of Toronto, and the late Bryan Carroll. Lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as great-great-grandchildren. Sister to Eleanor Sutton, Lorne Fallis, and the late Donald and Max Fallis. A very special thank-you to the staff of Harvest Wing, Centennial Place, Millbrook, for all their care and support.
