GRAY, Jeffrey James – after a brief illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Christmas Day, Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at the age of 39. Loving son of James and Anne Gray of Orono. Sadly missed by son Lucas and his mother Terri. Dear brother of Shelley and Todd. Special uncle of Samantha and Madison, and grandson of Eleanor Kirkwood. Thank you to Dr. Eisenstat and all the nurses and staff at Critical Care Unit, Lakeridge Health Oshawa, and to Susan of the Chaplaincy Department for their special care. Donations in Jeff’s memory to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated by his family.
Funeral Details: Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Monday, Dec. 27, from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 2:00 p.m., with visiting for an hour prior. Cremation.

HALES, Edith M – peacefully at Strathaven Lifecare Centre, Bowmanville, on Friday, December 24, 2004, in her 91st year. Loving wife of the late W. Donald Hales. Dear mother of Brian and his wife Berna of Newcastle and the late Irwin, and survived by daughter-in-law Wendy of Halls Lake. Sadly missed by grandchildren Tim, Andrea, and Jason. Dear sister of Evangeline Andrew of Renfrew, Ont., and the late Arline Benham and Arnold Carson. Loving wife for 42 years and best friend of John Julien of Orono. Missed by daughter Jamie and her husband Wayne Beattie of Bowmanville, and her son Todd and his wife Annette of Ajax. Loving Grandma of Desiree, Brittany, Kayla, and Sarah. Sister of John and his wife Helen Faichney and Phil and his wife Linda Faichney. Dearly loved niece of Russ and Lillian Wilson of Hamilton. Also missed by long-time friend Ron Jollymore, by her special four-legged companion Freckles, and by many friends and family members. Loving Nana to John, Glen, Jennifer, Scott, Craig, Derek, Brian, Michael, Amanda, and Shannon. Great-grandmother of Michael, Chelsea, Leif, Cory, Ashley, and Dylan. KING, Theodore “Ted” (Veteran WWII, Royal Canadian Navy, served aboard the frigate H.M.C.S. Annan in the North Atlantic; first operator for 44 years at Ontario Hydro) – peacefully in his sleep at Foster brooke Long Term Care Facility on Friday, December 10, 2004, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Rebecca King. Loved and devoted father of Barb King and her husband Rick Hurvid, and Paul King and his wife Odette. Loving Grandpa of Owen and Ian. Ted will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Clarington Animal Shelter would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Beloved and devoted son of Florence and Ken of Newcastle. Cherished brother of Tom and his children Joshua and Shane, all of Ottawa. Doug will be sadly missed by all of his extended family and many friends. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated by his family.

Dear mother of Bonnie Dart and her husband Brian of Peterborough and Vickie Dass and her husband Harri of Emily Park. Loving grandmother of Brianne, Bramon, Malcolm, and one on the way. Sister of Betty Ann of Nepean. TULLY, Terrance Noyle (Terry) – (Korean War Veteran, Princess Patricia Battalion; Royal Canadian Navy for 22 years; retired employee of Dome Petroleum; 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, currently with Branch 178 Bowmanville) – at his son’s home in Newcastle, on Wednesday, November 24, 2004, in his 73rd year. Predeceased by parents Harold and Marguerite Tully, and his brother Dennis (Marilyn). Sadly missed by his family, Mike and Sharon Tully, Kenny Tully, Kim Tully, Keith and Heather Tully, and Fran Tully. Special companion of Irma Braren and also missed by her daughter Julianne (Donny) and their son Zachary. Loving Grandpa of Megen; Kenneth and Kristan; Kourtney and Luke; and Derek. Dear brother of Jack (Meryl), Keith (Jeanine); Pat (Marilyn), Anne Allen, Paul (Anne), and Dave (Karen). Also missed by his Legion Branch #284 buddies in Calgary. Loving mother of Jim Wintonyk and his wife Jan of Bowmanville. Dear Grandmother of Jan Jr. and her husband Jon Janack and Darcy-Anne and great-grandmother of Heather and Graham. Survived by her brothers Walter and Louis Osika of Sudbury and her sister Terry Cartier of Niagara Falls. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Funeral Details: Respecting Katherine’s wishes, cremation will take place with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Loving wife of the late Ken Dean. Dear mother of Ross and his wife Lorraine of Oshawa, Jim and his wife Ellen of Gloucester, and Mary and her husband Gamey Lycett of Port Hope. Sadly missed by grandchildren Ben, Jamie, Wayne, Karen, Kenneth, Rosalind, Junior, Glenn, Andrea, Dean, and their families. Sister of the late Maude, Mae, Florence, and Ben, and lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
