Vera Hazel Dennis
DENNIS, Vera Hazel (nee Hartwick) – peacefully in her sleep at Foster brooke Long Term Care Facility on Monday, June 14, 2004, in her 86th year. Loving Mom of Helen and her husband John Sinclair of Newcastle and Joe Dennis of Vancouver. Special and loving Nan to Cindy and her husband Dwight Searle of Newcastle, Sandy and her husband Dale Millson of Newtonville, and Frank and his wife Teresa Dennis of Kendal. Very special Great-nan to Nicole, Melissa, Kyle, Tanner, Dayna, Dylan, and Hayley. Daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Hartwick. Sister to Verna Gatt, Jack, Frank, and Bert Hartwick, Dot and Bill Wright, and sister-in-law Faye. Predeceased by Harry, George, and Earl Hartwick. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Jefferson and the staff of Foster brooke for their compassionate care. Donations to the “Alive Program” of Foster brooke Long Term Care Facility (Palliative Care), or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and may be made through NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, (905) 987-3964, with whom arrangements have been entrusted.

FALLS, Rachel Jane (Jennie) – (lifetime member of Kendal United Church) peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Sunday, June 13, 2004, in her 88th year. Devoted wife for 65 years of Leonard Falls. Loving mother of Robert and his wife Wendy of Peterborough and Joan and her husband Wayne Blackburn of Starkville. Dear Grandma of Nicole and her husband Chris Milburn, Rachel Falls, Lauren Robert Falls, Susan and her husband Jeremy Pooler, and Jeremy Blackburn. Great-grandmother of Kyle, Kevin, Daniel, and Julie. Sister of Annie Lawrence and her late husband Hubert, and the late Willis and Walter Wright. Survived by sisters-in-law Weis and Regina. Sister-in-law of Ken (Bun) Holbrook and the late Myrtle Holbrook. HODGSON, Eric (Veteran of WWII) – suddenly at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, on Monday, January 19, 2004, in his 84th year. Loving husband of Joy (nee Harris) of Bowmanville. Dear father of Lorraine and her husband Barry Kelly of Newcastle, Larry and his wife Cathy of Minden, and Jeff and his wife Chris of Oshawa. Adored Grandpa of Tamara, David, Madison, Danielle, and Mark. Survived by his brother Wilfred of Vancouver, and predeceased by Stanley, Harry, Beatrice, Dolly, Percy, and Ernest. Eric was the greatest fan of the Maple Leafs there ever was. Donations in Eric’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society would be greatly appreciated by his family. Barbara, loving wife for 33 years of the late Thomas Alexander (Alec) Savage. Devoted mother of Daniel and his wife Marilyn of Perth, James, Ian, and Debbie and her husband Don Peddar, all of Kendal. Loving Grandma of Joanna, Heather, Peter; Billy, Echo; Chris and his wife Michelle, Patrick, Bradley; Shawna, Jeremy, Jody, and great-grandmother of Austin. Sadly missed by her many friends and family members in Kendal, Boston, Port McNichol, and Lennoxville. Daughter-in-law of Caroline and Russell McIlmoyle. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
