HUDSON, Pearl (50-year employee of the Orono Forestry) – at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in her 93rd year. Wife of the late Jack Hudson of Orono. Mother of Grace Duesbury of Cobourg and her late husband Al, and Jim and his wife Sandra Hudson of Orono. Grandmother of Larry, Cathy, John, Janice, Andrew, Mary Jane; JoAnne, Linda, and Scott, as well as 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral Details: A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S., on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 1:00 p.m., with visiting for one hour prior to the service. Interment Orono Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Pearl’s memory would be appreciated by her family.

E. Jean Clark
CLARK, E. Jean (Nursing graduate of Peterborough Civic Hospital in 1947 and head nurse of the maternity wing for 10 years; Administrator for 25 years of the former South Haven Nursing Home, Newcastle) – peacefully after a brief illness at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, November 1, 2003, in her 78th year. Loving wife of Harry Clark of Bewdley. Dear mother of Patricia and Ross Morris of Orono, Kim and Wayne Pearce of Bethany, Lynn and Alf Alldread of Newcastle, Dan and Fran Clark of Peterborough, John and Georgina Clark of Peterborough, Carole and Sully McMann of Peterborough, Tammy and Jeff Edwards of Fenella, Shawna and Laird Story of Bewdley, Carri Clark of Cobourg, and the late Terry Waddell. Sadly missed by 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Allen Austin of Peterborough, Audrey Dunford of Hamilton, Ken Austin of Peterborough, and the late Shirley Roache. SMITH, Betty (nee Resar) – suddenly passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday, October 3, 2003, in her 52nd year. Betty, beloved wife of D’Arcy of Newcastle. Loving mother of Lee Anne. Much loved daughter of Carl Resar and Anne Resar (deceased) and stepmother Marion of Peterborough. Sister of Doug Resar and his wife Martha of Peterborough, and loving sister-in-law of Ginny and her husband Don Foley of Maple Grove. Aunt of Josh Resar, Donny, Lisa, and Ricky Foley. Will be sadly missed by many friends in Newcastle and Peterborough, and also missed by her four-legged companion Chelsea. Loving wife and best friend for 32 years of James (Jim) Noble of Peterborough. Dear mother of Keith and Jenny, and Grandma to Brittanie and Joshua. Daughter of Doris Craig and the late John Craig. Survived by five brothers and sisters, and sadly missed by many friends. Marguerite McKellar (Carroll)
McKELLAR, Marguerite (Carroll) – passed away on Friday, May 28, 2004, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, in her 79th year. She leaves husband Norman after nearly 60 years, son Glenn and daughter-in-law Maureen, daughter Lea Anne and son-in-law David Zielonko, daughter-in-law Daphne of Vancouver, and son-in-law Sherwin Huth of Toronto; granddaughters Andrea, Elizabeth, Sarah, Kaileah, Katya, and Hannah, grandsons Christopher, Cory, and Cameron. She was predeceased by daughter Susan and son Gary. Her friends will remember her positive and pleasant personality here in Ontario and Florida where they wintered. Marguerite served in the R.C.A.F. as a wireless operator during WWII. She was an outstanding athlete in fastball and track in her youth, then golf, taking club championship at Meadowbrook Golf and Newcastle Golf. She was an avid gardener with a floral display in Wilmot Creek, and each spring she propagated perennials to sell for charity and leaves a legacy of plants throughout Wilmot Creek. She had a talent for paper tolle art produced here and in Florida. Marguerite was a devoted mother to Glenn, Gary, Lea Anne, and in caring for Susan who had Cystic Fibrosis. Norman was always grateful for her loyal support during his career and their sixty years together. In Marguerite’s memory, donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
Funeral Details: Following cremation, friends may call for a memorial gathering at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S., (exit 440, just north of 401 at the lights, 1-877-987-3964) on Wednesday, June 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held in NEWCASTLE FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH, 200 King Ave. E., on Thursday, June 3, at 11:00 a.m. (church is located on the north side of King Ave. at the east end of the Village; driveway is just east of the Park, building at the back of the parking lot).
