Peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus on November 23, 2003 at the age of 86. Wife of the late George Winston Sinclair. Mother of Elizabeth Williams (Roger), David (Susan) and Robert (Liliane). Grandmother of Jonathan and Nicholas Williams, Douglas (Joanna), Jessica Sinclair and Meagan Sinclair. Friends may visit at Trinity Anglican Church 1230 Bank Street on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 from 11a.m. until service time at 12noon. Donations to International Social Services 151 Slater Unit 3714, Ottawa, Ontario.

George MacDonald Sylvester - 12/01/2003
In hospital on November 28, 2003 at age 83. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Inness). Dear father of Anne Sylvester of Ottawa and John Sylvester (Dianne Knox) of P.E.I. Proud Grandad of Jaime, David and Michael Wong; Katelyn, Alissa and Eric Sylvester of P.E.I. Friends may attend a Memorial Service at Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive, at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, December 2, 2003, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in his memory to the charity of their choice. Funeral arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.

Antoinette (Deguire) Therien - 11/24/2003
Passed away peacefully, at the Montfort Hospital, on November 22, 2003 at the age of 85. Beloved wife for 60 years of Oswald Therien. Mother of Pierrette, Jean-Roch (Christiane), Claude (Sheryl), François (Debbie), Carole (Georges) and Guy (June). Sister of Maurice Deguire. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Guylaine (Sylvain), Marc-André (Jessica), Marc (France), Daniel (Kerri), Nicholas, Alexa, Aimee, Jaysun, Kory, Mélanie (Lee), Eric (Leila), Carl (Stéphanie) and Alyssa; her great grandchildren Brandon, Samuel, Jaydan, Blake and Florence. She also leaves three special people: Fernand Jacob (Carole and Hervé), Michelle Bazinet and Lise Beauchemin. Special thanks to her goddaughter Michelle Dugal. She was predeceased by her parents Sophie Boisvenue and Anselme Deguire, one sister and three brothers. Friends may visit at the St-Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Tuesday November 25, 2003 from 2:00 to 5:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00 and Wednesday November 26, 2003 from 10am. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Louis Marie de Montfort Church, 749 Trojan Avenue. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Montfort Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to take this opportunity to express special thanks and their profound gratitude to all the dedicated staff of the Montfort Hospital (4 West).

(A well known local artist who studied at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art, the Chicago Art Institute and was a graduate of Sir George Williams University) In hospital on Monday, December 1st, 2003 age 80 years. Beloved wife of Nelson for 42 years. Predeceased by her brother Douglas Drummond. Janet will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and her friends in the art community. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street after 12 noon Friday, December 5, 2003 until Service time in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Special thanks to the Nurses and Personal Care Assistants on F7 at the Civic Hospital for their care and kindness. Peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus on Monday, November 17, 2003 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of Honorable Allison A. M. Walsh. Predeceased by her two daughters, Julia Keleher-Kelly and Diana Lockwood. Survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service to be announced at a later date. Dr. John Dale Weldon - 11/19/2003
Graduate of McGill University and the University of Western Ontario. Peacefully at the St. Vincent Hospital on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 in his 75th year. Loving and proud father of Ian, Anne (Paul Lacroix), Allan and Jane. Grandpa-Dale to Nicole and Patrick Weldon, and Benoit and Elizabeth Lacroix. Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Eileen Weldon, his brother Robert and sister Helen both in their infancy. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Thursday, November 20th, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, November 21st at 11am. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Society of Ottawa Carleton, 1053 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, On, K1H 4E9 would be appreciated. Margaret White - 12/01/2003
Margaret passed away suddenly on November 25, 2003 at the West End Villa. Predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Roy White, she will be sadly missed by her brother Douglas (Arline) and her nieces Christine (Patrick) and Chantal (Stefano) and her grand-niece and nephew Veronique and William. A private family service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2003 at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe at 1 p.m. The family has requested that there be no public visitation. Donations may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society. The family wish to thank the staff at the West End Villa for their kindness, with special thanks to Gail Lascelle.

On Friday, November 21, 2003, as the result of an accident, aged 56 years. Beloved son of Katharine B. Wightman (nee McMeans), the late J. Sheldon Wightman and brother of Jim. Retired teacher at Ridgemont High School. A Memorial Service will be held on a date to be announced. A Memorial Fund in Ian's name will also be announced. Peacefully on April 13, 2004, age 84 with her family at her bedside. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Arthur Baker. Cherished mother of John (Darlene nee Plumb), Jane Stott (John) and Anne Macdonald (Brian). Fondly remembered by grandchildren Suzanne Woods, James Stott, Katrina Bainbridge, Alex, Jennifer, Margaret and Graham Macdonald. Great-grandmother of Samuel James Woods. Dear sister of Joan Lafontaine and Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Saturday, April 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and Sunday, April 18 from 2 to 4pm. CPL - RCAF – WD WWII Veteran 1921 – 2004 Peacefully at the Hospice at May Court on April 18, 2004 in her 83rd year; Beloved wife of Edward A. Loving mother of Linda (Rod Olsen) and Sandra (Leo Fahey). Cherished grandmother of Todd Fortier (Suzanne) and Tara Fortier, Terrence, Erin and Sean Fahey and great-grandmother to Taylor. Will be sadly missed by her sisters Gladys Booth and Joan Cameron. Predeceased by her father Sgt. Major Charles Harvey and her mother Blanche (Lauzanne), brother W02 Donald Harvey and sisters Mona Daly and Barbara Durham. Cremation. Bell Canada Retired Former Nepean Councillor Peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, age 63 years, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with ALS. Son of the late Leigh and Mabel Brown of St. Martins, New Brunswick. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Thomson) for 42 years. Dear father of Jeff (Myrna) of Calgary and Craig of Toronto. Cherished Grandpa of Mitchell and Trevor Brown. Also survived by his cousin Francis (JoAnne) Orchard of Fredricton, NB and Maurice Orchard of Toronto. Dear brother-in-law of Jean and Barry Nelson of Fredricton, NB. Al felt privileged to serve as a Nepean City Councillor for 10 years and was instrumental in helping organize the Nepean Youth Choir and was Building Chairman of Nepean City Hall and Centrepointe Theatre. He recently had been helping plan the second Al's Concert for ALS that will be held April 25 at the Cathedral. A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral (Sparks Street) Ottawa on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 2pm. Following the service the Brown family invite family and friends to a reception in Lauder Hall. Special thanks to everyone in the health care system especially Marion Williams, Barb Thibeault, Theresa, Sandy, Dodie, Melissa, Peter, George, Maryanne, Nancy, Sherrey, Karen, Dr. Sawyers, Dr. Coulombe, Dr. Bourque, Dr. McKim, to the Givens family, and Tony El-Khoury for their wonderful attention and care. On April 14, 2004, Edith Bryson, beloved wife of the late Tom Bryson. Survived by her daughters Valerie Pranke (Ernst), Ottawa and Sandra von Seggern (Richard), Aurora, CO. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Heidi Henry (Michael), Merrickville, Ontario; Eric von Seggern (Karen), Loveland, CO; Krista von Seggern, Santa Monica, CA; and two great-granchildren. She is also survived by her sister Sue Burton (Robert), Arlington, Mass. as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Irene, brothers Fred, Edgar, Art and Gerry. We wish to thank the staff at Landmark Court for their wonderful care as well as her friends, Lorne and Yvonne Hooper and Lyn Gibson, for their kindness. Jean will be sadly missed by her nieces Judith Egan and Linda Neitzel. Suddenly on Easter Sunday, April 11th, 2004, surrounded by her loving family in her 72nd year. Dearly beloved wife of Andre. Loving mother of Robert (Patricia), Jacques (Christine) and Father Pierre. Also loved by her granddaughter Geneve Champoux. Predeceased by one brother Laurie Cormier. Anna will be dearly missed by her 102 year old father-in-law, Charles Auguste Champoux. Dear sister-in-law of Hector (Edith), Helene Roberge (Gerald), Roger (Jacqueline), Therese Loubert (Ernest) and Claire Champoux. Also loved by her several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Wednesday and Thursday April 14th and 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 320 Olmstead Avenue, Ottawa on Friday April 16th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Hope Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, 2411-40 Ruskin Street, Ottawa K1Y 4W7 or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 75 Albert Street, Suite 902, Ottawa K1P 5E7 would be appreciated by the family.
