Norman Charbonneau - 01/11/2006
November 4, 1932-January 10, 2006
"King of the Road"
It is with great sadness that we announce, after a courageous struggle with lung disease, the death of Norman Charbonneau, age 73. Deeply loved husband and best friend of Aline Charbonneau for 49 years. Loving father of Françoise (Robert), Michel (Debbie), Danielle (Rick) and Johanne. Cherished grandfather of Jason, Shawn, Sophie and Jesse and his great-grandchild Claudia (his princess). Dear son of the late Arthur Charbonneau and Anna Gareau. Brother of Giselle (Pierre deceased), Monique (Bob), Jacques (Suzanne), Lise (Tom), Germain (Louise), Thérèse (Alan), Yvon (Aline), Paulette, the late Ernest and the late Réjean. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral Mass will be held at St-Louis-Marie-de-Montfort, 749 Trojan Avenue on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 9am. Interment to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated.

C.W.O. RCAF C.A.F. Retired Suddenly at home on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Eva (Nee Cahill). Cherished father of Maureen Gaudet and Karen Gorman (Rick), Proud grandfather of Amanda Gaudet, Sean and Cameron Gorman. Dear brother of Inez Cray and son of the late William Cray and Florence Hughes. He will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 from 11:30am to 1pm with service to follow in the chapel. Interment Beechwood Cemetery. For those wishing donations may be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Melita Lillian Harris (nee Woodhouse) - 01/13/2006
Peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late N. Trevor Harris. Dear aunt of Colin, Gordon and the late John Woodhouse. Long-time friend of the late General and Mrs. A.G.L. McNaughton and family. Loved, loyal friend of the Frewen and the Lanceman families and others who all mourn her passing and were proud to have known her. She will be remembered for her life-time love of animals, especially her great work and support of the Humane Society. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Thursday, January 19, 2006 from 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, January 20, 2006 at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated.

Beloved mother of Wayne Johnson and dearest Granny of Kelly Johnson and Mike Jones. Dear sister of Helen of Toronto, Tom of Shawville, Aletha of Vinton and the late Milton, Nioma, Raymond and Dwight. Loving aunt of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephew and great-grandniece. Predeceased by Stanley Johnson, great father and very proud grandfather. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service in the Chapel on Thursday at 11:30am. Reception to follow. Visitation then to follow at the W.J. Hayes and Sons Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, January 12, 2006 from 7-9pm. Funeral service in the Chapel on Friday at 11am. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery, Shawville. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.

Dearest grandfather of Sherri, Lori, Kerrie, Jeffrey, Christopher and Vanessa. Devoted great-grandfather of Melanie, Sarah, Laura, Randy, Alex Daniel and Pamela. Peacefully at home on Thursday, January 12, 2006 in his 87th year. Dear son of the late William Ironside and Margaret Forbes of Scotland and then later Winnipeg. Cherished nephew of the late Bessie. Ron was born in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. His family immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1928. He was educated at the Gordon Schools, Huntly, Scotland, Winnipeg MB Schools, University of Manitoba, Carleton University and MIT. He resided in Ottawa from 1949 where he commenced his career in analytical chemistry at the National Research Council. His interests in languages, photography, music, the arts and his profession were unquenchable. Private arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions to the Isbister Scholarship Fund at the University of Manitoba would be appreciated.

Cherished grandmother of Stacey, Alannah, Shawna and Alex. Sister of Liz Bradley (Herb) of Carrying Place, ON, mother-in-law of Scott Malmberg and sister-in-law of the late Peggy Smith. (nee Touchette) Peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the age of 75 at the Perley Rideau & Veteran's Health Centre. Dearly loved wife of the late Henri Lacroix of Carlsbad Springs. Mother of Lise Smith (Gordon), Denis and Lynne (Pierre Gaudreault). Also loved by her grandchildren Sophie, Ben, Alain and Julie. Dear sister of Thérèse (Réjean Lacroix), Simone (the late Gérard Lacroix), Françoise (the late Jacques Lalonde), Léon Touchette (Simone) and André Touchette (Claudette). Predeceased by one brother Gaëtan Touchette (Aline) and three sisters Yvette (the late Guy Déséluc), Annette (the late Edgar Giroux) and Henriette (Lionel Renaud). There will be no visitation. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Laurent Catholic Church of Carlsbad Springs on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Society of Ottawa would be appreciated. The family would like to express thier thanks to the staff at the Perley Rideau.

Elizabeth Jean (Betty) Langford - 01/17/2006
Peacefully at the Glebe Centre on January 16, 2006 in her 89th year. Daughter of the late H.G. Langford and Emily Langford, predeceased by her sister Ruth Hall Leslie. She will be sadly missed by her niece, Elizabeth Minnes (Jim) and her nephews Grant Leslie (Vickie) and John Lawrie Leslie (Lyn). She will also be missed by her great-nieces and nephews Robyne, Kim, Heather Leslie, Alexandra, and Justin Minnes, Matthew, and Michelle Leslie and step-great niece Lindsay Callan. A private family graveside service to be held at the Beechwood Cemetery. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers and wondefully caring nursing staff on the 5th Floor of the Glebe Centre. for those wishing, donations to the Glebe Centre would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. Justice Melvyn Green (Allison), Howard Lithwick(Carol), Arlene Green (Glenn), Henry Green (Lynda), Marilyn Kohn (Harry), Kalman Green (June) and Helene Huot (Charles) and many great nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents Abraham and Dora Lithwick and his brother Harold Lithwick. Norman was a long time resident at Hillel Lodge. A Graveside Service will be held at the Jewish Community Cemetery, Bank Street on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. Shiva at Hillel Lodge with visitation on Thursday, January 12, 2006, only, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. Thanks so much to the wonderful caring staff of Hillel Lodge and to the private health care nurses and other attendants from Gem Health Care Services Inc. and the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Ottawa Hospital. In particular to June McTaggart and Mouna Khouri and Doctor Hilary Meggison. In lieu of flowers donations to Hillel Lodge would be appreciated.

Peacefully at the Résidence Saint-Louis on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the age of 86. Dear daughter of the late Eugène and Marie-Louise (Cyr) Landriault. Dearly beloved wife of the late Camille Lortie. Dear mother of Adeline (Romain “Joe” Beaulieu), Pierette (Georges Kelly), François (Hélène Lamothe), Denise (Ronald Blanchard), Monique (Charles Rouleau), Claire (Claude Chénier), Gisèle (Maurice Larabie), Richard (Christine Wolinska) and Guy (Joanne Yelle). Dear grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Lionel, Edmond and Jim. Lina will be dearly missed by her sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her two children Colette and Joseph, her brother Eugène and two sisters Rita and Edna. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Friday, January 13, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral mass will be held at Saint-Louis-Marie-de-Montfort Roman Catholic Church, 749 Trojan Avenue, Ottawa on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Lina, memorial contributions to The Montfort Hospital Foundation or The St-Louis-Marie-de-Montfort Parish in care of the Church Access Project. A sincere thanks to Dr. Moise and the personnel at the Résidence St-Louis for their excellent loving care and compassion.

passed away peacefully on January 6, 2006. Predeceased by his parents Joseph Thomas Maloley and Marguerite Riske Saad, brother Michael, sister Mary (Mrs. M. Salahani), brother Michael, sister Wyda, brother Edward and beloved wife Mary Jean (Smyth). Beloved father of Jo-Ann (Mrs. Di Francesco), Sharron (Line), Jeffrey (Barbara), Robert (Leta), David (Heidi), and Christopher ( Crystal). Loving grandfather of Jason, Meagan, William, Emily, Andrea, Erika, Scott, Alana, and Jarrod and Joanna Pelletier of Calgary. Loving great-grandfather of Ava, Marcus, Aaron, Jarrod and Jonah. He will be sadly missed by his brother Hubert of Ottawa, nephews, nieces and their families and friends.
