Donald Keith
passed away at the Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton on Friday, January 13th, 2006, at the age of 69 years, Don Keith of Paisley. Dear friend of Louise Clark. Husband of the late Sharon Atkinson. Father of Cindy and her husband Ken Bestward of Southampton. Popa of Tyler and Trevor Bestward. Don is survived by his sister Marie Cooper of Kincardine, his mother-in-law Isma Atkinson of McVeen Lodge in Hanover, and by his sister-in-law Mary Pat Atkinson of Durham. He is predeceased by his brother Cecil, and by one brother in infancy.
Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel. 216 Queen St. S., Paisley from
2–4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, January 15th. Funeral service will conducted in Westminster Presbyterian Church, Queen St. South, Paisley, on Monday at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Shelley Butterfield-Kocis officiating.

Mary Jane Keffer
At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Wednesday, March 1st, 2006, at the age of 79 years, Mary Jane Keffer of Port Elgin and formerly of Toronto. Beloved and cherished daughter of the late Ivan and Mary Louise Keffer who predeceased her in 1965 and 1982 respectively. Mary Jane spent some of her early years growing up in Berlin, Germany where her father led the F.W. Woolworth Co’s expansion into Germany in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The rise of Nazism resulted in the Keffers returning to Toronto where Mr. Keffer continued to serve Woolworths in a senior capacity.Mary Jane was a life-long summer resident of Port Elgin who loved travelling, golfing at the Saugeen Golf Course, and swimming in front of the Keffer family cottage on the Port Elgin Beach.
A memorial service will be conducted at Elgin Lodge, 551 Mary St., Port Elgin, on Saturday, April 8th, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dwight Biggs officiating.
Interment Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Vaughan, Ontario.

Keenan, William Herbert
At his residence in Port Elgin on Monday, March 11th, 2002 at the age of 66 years, William Keenan of Port Elgin. Father of Paul and his wife Arlene of Port Elgin, Daniel of Kitchener, Patrick and his wife Alice of Bethany, and Linda and her husband Gordon Crombeen of Port Elgin. Grandpa of Carolyn, Holly, Ashley, Matthew, Samuel and Kevin. Son of Florence Keenan of Burlington. Brother of Diane and her husband Armand Colosimo of Thunder Bay, Brian and his wife Jany of Winnipeg, and Maureen and her husband John Whittaker of Australia. Special friend of Joanne Lewis of Port Elgin. He is predeceased by his father Herbert Keenan and by his brothers James and Thomas.

Keel, Frederick Albert
Having gone to be with the Lord, at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Wednesday, October 24th, 2001 at the age of 81 years, Fred Keel of Port Elgin and formerly of Toronto. Husband of the late Eugenie “Gene” Self. Father of David of Toronto, Gordon and his wife Preeti of Salt Springs Island, B.C. and Jamie Cooper of Missouri. Grandfather of Jennifer Keel and Ryan and Timothy Cooper. Special friend of Jareth Andersen of Port Elgin. Uncle of Arden Hiller, Jeanette Halliday and Donald Keel. He is predeceased by his sister Jessie Bradley and by his brother George Keel.

Kearns, Minnie
At the Southampton Care Centre on Thursday, Sept., 18th, 2003, at the age of 84 years, the former Minnie Scott, wife of the late Harold Kearns, mother of Dorothy and her husband John Bleakley of Dallas, Georgia.She is also survived by her grandchildren Renee, John and Steven, by her five great-grandchildren, and by her daughter-in-law Erlene Kearns.Predeceased by her son Harry, her daughter Brenda, her sister Florence Cannon, and her brothers Jim, Emil and Morris Scott.

At Elgin Abbey Nursing Home, Chesley, on Thursday, January 10th, 2002, in her 91st year, the former Stella Parker of Paisley. Beloved wife of the late Stewart Karcher. Dear mother of Wilma and her husband the late Robert McArthur of Port Elgin, Diane and her husband Ron Gottschalk, William and his wife Mairi, and Ed and his wife Shirley, all of Paisley. Grandmother of Lori, Heather, Paul, Patricia, Chris, Steven, Brad, Teresa, Kory and Julia. Great-grandmother of Ashley, Mairi Katherine, Callum, Logan, Alisha & Tyler. Sister of Minnie Swick of Port Elgin. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law Cliff Swick.

At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Friday, November 28th, 2003, at the age of 61 years, the former Carol Smylie. Wife of the late Simo Juoni. Mother of Peter and his wife Shelly of Chatsworth. Grandma of Mckayla, Kirsten and Collin. Daughter of Vera Smylie of Timmins and the late James Smylie. Sister of Jim Smylie and his wife Lorraine of Timmins, and Bob Smylie and his wife Diane of British Columbia. She is also survived by her five nephews.

Johnston, Almon Philip
At the Extendicare Nursing Home, Scarborough, on Thursday, August 29th, 2002, at the age of 93 years, Almon Johnston of Toronto and formerly of Miramichi, N.B. Husband of the late Beryl Johnstone. Brother of Ivan Johnston of Port Elgin.He is also survived by his nieces, Barbara and Patsy and by his nephew Johnny. He is predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
A family visitation was held at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin.

Florence Johnson
Quietly at her residence on Thursday, January 8th, 2004 at the age of 52 years, the former Florence John of Saugeen First Nation. Wife of Terry Robert Johnson. Mother of Kathleen and her husband Phillip Johnson, Sheila Bob, and Priscilla and her husband Orion Southwind, all of Saugeen First Nation. She will be remembered by her sister Gretta Foster of Cambridge, and by her brothers Larry, Fredrick, Carson, and Eugene John, all of Saugeen First Nation. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Mary Lee, her parents, and by one nephew.

Suddenly in Toronto on Saturday evening, December 2nd, 2006, at the age of 45 years, Rick Jacobs of Southampton and formerly of Meaford. Husband of the former Trudy Kewageshig. Father of Richard “Rich” and Joseph “Joey”, both of Southampton. Papa to Sharissa. He is survived by his mother Rita Jacobs of Sagamok First Nation, by his daughter-in-law Karissa Ritchie of Southampton, by his brothers Irwin, Roger, Peter, and John Jacobs, and Tim Ritchie, and by his sisters Kim Toulouse, Donna Jacobs, and Terri Indoe and their families. Brother-in-law to Faith Crowe, Bonnie Mason, Monica Roote, Jackie Kewageshig, Larry Kewageshig and Tom Kewageshig and their families. Rick will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Irwin Peters, and by his stepfather Marvin Jacobs.
