At the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton, on Monday, October 6th, 2003 at the age of 57 years, Bob Flett of Port Elgin and formerly of Greenock Township. Loved husband of the former Pat Reid. Loved father of Sheri and her husband Len Perdue, and Mark Flett and his wife Tammy. Loved “Bumpie” of Jessica and Josh Perdue, and Taylor and Cody Flett. Loved brother of Bill Flett and his wife Bonnie of Lucknow, Ron Flett and his wife Lois of Vergreville, Alberta, Bruce Flett and his wife Kathy of Cargill, Betty and her husband Joe Koebel of Walkerton. Loved son of Reta Flett of Walkerton. Brother-in-law of Carol and her husband Don Wallace of Glammis, Jeannie and her husband Doug Milne of Waterloo, and Bill Reid and his wife Laurie of Paisley. Son-in-law of Eldon and Gwen Reid. He is predeceased by his father James Flett

Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, with his family at his side on Monday, March 10th , 2003 at the age of 83 years, Bill Fleming of Port Elgin. Husband of the late Ruth Marshall. Father of Jon and his wife Bonnie of Guelph, Marsha of Port Elgin, and Anne and her husband Peter Little of Port Elgin. Grandpa to Lanny Fleming and his wife Heather, Kevin Fleming, and Adrian Little. Sister of Marion Halfpenny of Caledonia. He is predeceased by his brothers Harvey and George.

Father of Marj and her husband Bill Dobson of Clinton, Pat and her husband John Cselotei of Port Elgin, David and his wife Bev Flanders of San Bernardino, California, and Lyn and her husband Pete Maxwell of London. Grandfather of Tim and Joni Dobson, Terry and Susan Dobson, Lisa Dobson and Terry Davies, Tabetha and Chris White, Michael and Christine MacKay, Shannon and David Juarez, Ryan Flanders and Hollie Maxwell.Great-grandfather of Julie and Jessi Dobson, Melissa, Kiersten and Kelsey Dobson, and Taylor, Damien and Zoe Maxwell.He will be missed by his special adopted family, Kathy, Larry and Courtney George. Also surviving is his sister Ardyth and her husband Paul Leitch, and a brother Desmondand his wife Sheila Flanders.Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Marguerite Flanders, and by his sister Joyce.

Ferrier, James Murie
At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Monday, June 11th, 2001, in his 91st year, James Ferrier of Owen Sound. Husband of the late Ruby Sheppard. Father of Ronald, Lenore and her husband Lloyd McEachern, all of Guelph, and Jamie and his wife Karen of Owen Sound. Grandfather of George and Shawn Ferrier, Eugenia Rutledge, Peter Veen, Robert Veen, Paul McEachern, and Nicholas and Cody Ferrier. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son Paul, his grandson Sandy and his sister Muriel.

Lawrence "Laurie" Ferguson
passed away suddenly at his winter home in Gulf Shores, Alabama on Saturday January 20th , 2007 in his 78th year. Laurie is survived by his wife Connie (Eaid), and his children Lesley Botte of Adamstown, Pennsylvania, Linda and her husband Doug Gowanlock of Port Elgin, Barry Ferguson and his wife Angela of Waterloo, and Karen and her husband Tony Alberts of Port Elgin. Also left to mourn are grandchildren Natasha Alberts, Andy Gowanlock, Stephanie Alberts, Patrick Ferguson and Ted Ferguson.
Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 27th. A funeral service to celebrate Laurie’s life will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Margaret Greenhow officiating.
A reception with the family will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church Hall immediately following the funeral service.

Keith Ferguson
Keith Ferguson of Tobermory and Port Elgin, passed away on Wednesday, February 25th, 2004, in Southampton. Keith fought a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side. Keith was 64. Keith leaves behind his devoted wife Catherine, his son Kyle and his wife Julie of Southampton, and his daughter Christine and her husband Ken McBride of Oshawa. Keith is also survived by three grandchildren Michaela, Kasey, and Megan, and three step-grandchildren Sam, Kory, and Kelly. Keith leaves behind his brother Laurie and his wife Connie of Johnston’s Harbour. Keith will be sadly missed by his friends Roger and Pat Nerney.

Jean Fenton
At the Grey-Bruce Health Services in Southampton, on the morning of her 83rd birthday, the former Jean Reoch, wife of 63 years to Dick Fenton, and mother of Don and his wife Inez of Saugeen Shores, Ron and his wife Pauline of Oliphant, and Bruce and his wife Coleen of Saugeen Shores. Grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.Sister of Alma Cluley and her husband Eric of Durham.Jean is predeceased by her daughter Marilyn and her husband Allen Gregg, by one brother Wallace Reoch, and by her parents James and Felicia Reoch.
Friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church, Ivings Drive in Port Elgin, on Friday, July 2nd, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.A service in memory of Jean will be conducted in the sanctuary at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dwight Biggs officiating.

Dear father of Fred and Margie, both of Saugeen Shores. Brother of Jean and her husband George Nowitsky of Schoal Lake, Manitoba and Dorothy and her husband Bill Hall of Ottawa. Brother-in-law of Marg Steele of Newbury. He is also survived by one niece and one nephew.

Dear mother of Kieth and his wife Barbara of Caistor Centre, Ontario, Orville and his wife Elsie of Clandeboye and Harvey and his wife Marlene of Paisley. Grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Beattie. She is predeceased by her daughter-in-law Gwen.

Dr. Mary Jane Esplen and her husband John Arpin of Toronto, and Cathy Lynn Grist and her husband Elden Grist of Lucknow. Grandfather of Andrew and his wife Anna of England, Mathew of London, and Michael of Exeter. Predeceased by one brother Harland Esplen.

Suddenly at his residence on Thursday, November 1st, 2007, at the age of 71 years, Jim Esplen of Port Elgin and formerly of Burgoyne. Husband of the former Elaine Daniel. Father of Lisa of Burgoyne and Kerri and her husband Kelly Andrews of Whitby. Grandpa to Curtis and Connor Cobean, and Emma and Ben Andrews. Brother of Norma and her husband Clare Lockman of London, Jean and her husband Gord Scott of Allenford, and Freda and her husband Al Barber of Baden. Jim is also survived by his sisters-in-law Margaret Esplen, and Doreen and her husband Bev Wark, all of Port Elgin. He will be sadly missed by his special friend Eric Leslie, and by his several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law Mac Esplen.
