Joan Pearl Lasky (nee Hutchings)
Peacefully on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, with her family by her side, age 73 years. Beloved wife of William and loving mother of Bill and his wife Debra, daughter Christine and her husband Robert, and predeceased by her son Michael. Joan’s loving memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Cassandra, Dax and Jenna. Family and friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Tuesday 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation. Judith Lin Deegan
Passed away suddenly on January 4, 2005 at the Trillium Health Centre. Survived by her sister Jean Kane and her husband William, niece Mary Frances, nephew William, nephew Christopher and niece Allison. Lovingly remembered by her dear friends, Frances and her son David Nolan. She will be sadly missed by her loving dog Princess. Judith lived her life on her own terms and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. Elsie Lea
After a long battle, Elsie passed away peacefully on January 6, 2005 at the Trillium Health Centre at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Joseph for 53 years. Loving mother to Philip, Stephen and Timothy. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. Annie McLaren (nee Skinner)
The matriarch of our family has passed this life on Friday, January 7, 2005 in her 99th year. Dearly beloved wife of the late Duncan MacLaren, dearly loved mother of Noreen, the late Esther and late son-in-law Mel Rolston, and the late Sandy. Dearest grandmother of David (Sandy) and Terry (Doris) Rolston. Dear great grandmother of Melissa, Taylor, Duncan and Samuel Rolston. Honorary member of Ulster United L.O.B.A. and Crystal Chapter #5. Long time resident of New Toronto and member of Century United Church. She will be sadly missed by relatives and friends in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, the U.S. and Canada and her neighbours. On Sunday, January 16, 2005 in her 72nd year, beloved wife of the late William Godfrey Drover. Dear mother to Robin Smith (Kenzie) and Rhonda Beirnes (Murray), all of Listowel, Kevin (Anne) of Enderby, B.C., Kelly Firstbrook (Don) of Oakville, and Kent (Betty) of Fruitvale, B.C. On Saturday, January 29, 2005 in his 88th year George Kozub passed away. He is survived by his sister Ann. Predeceased by his sisters Mary, Dora, Kay and brothers Steve and Nick. She will be lovingly remembered by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Dorothy Jones (Fred) and predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Suddenly after a lengthy illness on February 3, 2005 at Thamesview Lodge, Chatham; at the age of 85. Predeceased by her husband William. Loving mother of Fred Wood, James Wood and his wife Sharon Broydell-Wood, Anne and her husband Dave Barnes, Rose and her husband Don Hickey. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren John Bowden, Rhonda Wood, Denis and his wife Corrinne Wood, Kevin Bowden, Daniel Barnes, Krystal Hickey, Sarah Wood, Spencer Wood, and great grandchildren Jessica, Payton, Joshua, Crystal, Talitha, and Jayden. Helen Sarah Patterson (nee West)
We shared earth time with a very special person. Helen Sarah Patterson, a long time resident of 22nd Street in New Toronto, later a resident of Westminster Court in Mississauga, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2005 at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She will live on in the hearts of many who loved her. Predeceased by her loving husband Charles. Sadly missed by her son Brian and his wife Katharine of B.C., her son John and his wife Luba of Ottawa, her daughter Nancy Fraser and her husband Mark of Toronto and her foster son Michael Harwick of Toronto. David Hall Strachan
Passed away peacefully, in his 87th year Friday April 8, 2005 at Peel Manor Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife Florence with who he is now forever re-united. Cherished father of Diane McMerty and her husband Tom, son Philip and his wife Jan, grandchildren Dawn (Ken), Colleen (Rui), Laura and Drew, and great grandchildren aka “G.G.” to Paige, Madison and Brooke and unborn. He was warm, generous, loving and quick witted, he will be missed dearly by family and friends. The families would like to thank the nursing staff for their excellent care giving at Peel Manor…you will never be forgotten.
