LAWLOR, Catherine Mary – Passed peacefully away at her home in Paradise, Catherine Mary (Kay) Lawlor, aged 63 years. Predeceased by her mother Margaret Thorne, her father-in-law Andrew Lawlor, her mother-in-law Hannah Lawlor, her brother-in-law Raymond Lawlor, her sister-in-law Mildred Sterling. Leaving to mourn her father Henry Thorne, her husband Philip Lawlor, special nieces: Leona Abbott (husband Tom and children Rebecca, Liam and Quinn Abbott), Amy and Jodi Howlett; special nephew Mark Howlett; brothers: Richard (Doris), Maurice (Cynthia), Brian (Leifa), Greg (Shirl), Brendan (Deb), Wilf (Maureen), Andrew (Charmaine), Michael (Lynda), Philip (Lorraine), Ken (Tracy); sisters: Anastasia Dunn (Art), Sheila King (Bill), Denise Hibbs (Stan), Agatha Howlett (Ed), Alma Greeley (Keith), Joanne Miller (Derrick), Marilyn Stewart (Al), Geraldine Thorne (Perry), Ann Housser, Gertrude Greeley (Lester); sisters-in-law: Rita Stapleton, Delores Nowotczynski (Rick), Joan Cleary (Mike), Jean Lawlor, Anne Baker; also many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. NASH, Robert (Bob) – Passed peacefully away on Sunday, September 12, 2004 , age 83 years. Predeceased by parents, James and Catherine (Farrell) Nash, and his first wife Margaret Gosse. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Mary, sons Robert (Margot), Edward (Diane), daughter Edwina (Reg Clarke), stepson Michael (Judy) and family; sisters Mary (Mame) and Nora Nash; brother-in-law John (Alice); sister-in-law Margaret Crotty (John), USA; grandchildren: Zach, Emma, Holly, Dean and Lindsay; as well as many other relatives and friends. O’KEEFE, Mary Alice – age 94 years, most assuredly gone to her heavenly rest, Mary Alice, born January 14, 1910, died at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, September 4, 2004. Predeceased by her father, ex-Head Constable Richard and mother Mary Josephine (Sutton). No immediate family; relatives at St. John’s and Placentia. Forever missed and deeply loved by all whose lives she touched – especially her “almost son” Arthur Callahan, (Cynthia and her children) and Maria, John and Katie Callahan. Also, very special friend Dr. Elizabeth Callahan. Flowers graciously accepted. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home whose exceptional and dedicated staff tended so devotedly to her needs. PENNEY, Helen Mary (nee Quigley) – age 72 years, passed peacefully away on September 7th, 2004, surrounded by her devoted loving family: husband Austin, daughters, Karen Laite (Rick), Peggy, Donna Osmond (Tony) and Leah Chaulk (Doug) and son Barry; her grandchildren whom she adored, Jason, Neil, Michael, Jonathon, Ryan, Penny, Andrew, Matthew and Jordan; her loving sister Joan (Les O’Brien). Predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Quigley, and brother Ted. Also leaving to mourn a large number of relatives and friends in the Penney and Quigley Families. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. QUIGLEY, Edward (Ted) – Passed away on Monday, September 6, 2004, age 66, after a lengthy and courageous battle with ALS. Predeceased by his parents, Margaret and William Quigley. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife, Elsie; three sons: Ted (Sarah), Paul (Marnie), Gary (Connie) and daughter Lisa Bennett (Brian); four cherished grandchildren: Amanda, Robert, Connor and Marc; two sisters, Helen Penney (Austin), Joan O’Brien (Les) and a large circle of nephews, nieces and extended family and friends. Florence St. George
St. George, Florence -Passed away suddenly at the Health Science Centre on Sunday, September 12, 2004, age 68 years, and a resident of the Kinsmen’s Senior Manor in Torbay for the past 3 years. Predeceased by her husband (Patrick St. George); mother & father (Patrick & Stella Kennedy) and her sister (Marie Quinlan), her brother George Kennedy. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her 10 children, Barbara Ann Pinsent (Garry); Linda Quinlan (Jim); Stella Flight (Mervin); Alice Kielty (John); Patricia Tremblett (Joseph) Patrick St. George, Jr (Trudy); Margaret Rose Gullage (Milton Newbury); Jim St. George; Kim St. George; Vanessa Furey (Joe); 17 grandchildren and 5 great grand children; also her brothers Don Kennedy (Carol), Kevin Kennedy (Gen) and her sister Mary Slaney (Michael) and a large circle of relatives and friends.
A special thank you to the staff at 4 North A at the Health Science Center and a special thank you to Dr. Kara Laing (her angel) at the Cancer Clinic.
Florence will be resting at Caul’s Funeral Home in Torbay on Sunday, September 12th and Monday, September 13 from 10:00 - 7:00 p.m. There will also be a memorial service in Buchans on Wednesday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m.
