McGRATH, Gerald – Passed peacefully away at St. Lukes Home on Sunday, February 27th, 2005, age 85 years. Predeceased by his brother Thomas and sisters: Gertrude, Elizabeth, Josephine and Kathleen. Leaving to mourn special friend, Christine Rodgers and a large number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Tuesday, from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. from St. John Bosco Church. Cremation to Follow.

David Wayne Miller
MILLER, David Wayne – Peacefully on February 21st, 2005, at the age of 44. Survived by mother Gladys Miller of Moncton and Harry Miller of Fredericton, New Brunswick, six brothers, 4 sisters, nieces and nephews, from British Columbia to Newfoundland. A generous man, with a heart of gold, who will be dearly missed. Private Service. Donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter.

NORMAN, Josephine – Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre, St. John’s, on Tuesday, February 08, 2005. Josephine Norman aged 75 years. Predeceased by her son Gerard Norman and her sister Madeline. Leaving to mourn her husband Joseph; her sons John (Jennie) and Leonard (Linda); daughters Helen Crews (Dave), Joanne Sacrey (Cordell); sister Margaret Lafitte; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends, and her many friends from the Knights of Columbus Ladies Dart League. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 12 noon – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 12th, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Church. Cremation to Follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Mary Catherine O'Neill
O’NEILL, Mary Catherine (Mullalley) -- passed peacefully away on Feb. 27th in her 86th year surrounded by her loving family. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, her passing is mourned and her life is celebrated by her husband, Dolph,; three children, Shirley Thorne (Philip), Linda Woods (Michael), Fred O’Neill (Jeannie); eight grandchildren, Jamie and Shannon O’Neill; Jennifer, Jillian, and Philip Thorne; Michael (Bridget Fernandez), Marc (Syble), and Matthew Woods. Brothers and sisters, Ursula and Joe Wall, Winifred White, Cyril Mullalley, Rita White; predeceased by brothers Larry, Bill, Gus, and sister Eileen Bartlett; also lovingly remembered by her dear friend and sister-in-law, Phyllis O’Neill; sister-in-law Lorraine, brothers-in-law Don (Jenny), Olaf (Alice), Doug ,and by many other friends. Numerous nephews and nieces also form part of the large extended family that is blessed by Mary’s generosity of spirit, humor and joy in life. Mary O’Neill will also be remembered by many former students whose lives she enriched through her many years of dedicated teaching in various schools throughout Newfoundland. Special thanks to the staffs of the Health Sciences Centre, the Miller Center, and Hoyles Nursing Home for their exemplary care and kindness. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Le Marchant Road. Visitation on Monday, Feb. 28 from 7 P.M. ,– 10 P.M. Tuesday, March 1 from 2 P.M. – 5P.M. and 7 P.M. – 10 P.M. A celebratory Mass will take place at Mary Queen of the World on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 9: 30 A.M.

PROULX, Barbara Ann (Simms) – July 24th, 1950 – February 5th, 2005 – Passed suddenly away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on February 5th, 2005. Barbara Ann Proulx, aged 54 years. Predeceased by husband John Proulx (1998), mother Eileen Simms (2000) and brother Jack Simms (1995). Leaving to mourn sons: Wilfred and Jack (wife Kyla) and grandsons Cody and Jamie; three sisters: Sandra (Winston deceased), Kitty (Bern), Margie and one brother Larry (Sharon). Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Gertrude (Evans); brothers: Gerald, Daniel, sister: Madeline Andersen (John), Scotland. Leaving to mourn wife Elizabeth Maddigan (Comerford), Stepson Robert Comerford (Janet), Step-daughter Judy (Comerford) (Newton) (Bill), one brother Tommy; three sisters Margaret Penney (Edward), Gertrude Lawlor (Ned, deceased), Maureen Connolly (John), sister-in-law Gertrude Stamp, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Julia Trahey and her Medical team, especially Dr. Melanie Pike and the staff of 4 South A at the Health Sciences Complex. Special thanks also to Doctor's Mercedes Penton, Marie O'Dea, Father John Maddigan, and the staff on 2 East at St. Patrick's Mercy Home for the excellent care, love and devotion shown to Charlie during his stay. James Frederick Sullivan
SULLIVAN, James Frederick (Jim) - Passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, on February 10th/2005, after a courageous battle with cancer, James Sullivan, aged 80 years of Pouch Cove, Newfoundland. Leaving to mourn with fond memories, his loving wife Grace Eileen of 55 years, eldest son Carl (Marilyn) Ottawa, son Reginald (Cathy) Scarborough ON & daughter Karen Grace Sullivan -Young (Christopher) Scarborough ON. Predeceased by sisters Lucy & Madeline, brothers David & Edward. Surviving siblings George (Trudy), Alfred, Horatio (Jean) and youngest sister Violet (Doug) Trenchard. A large number of nieces and nephews, one grand child Shannon Bennett and 4 great grand children. As well as numerous other in-laws, friends and family members and four guide dogs Oreo, Delta, Polo & Gavin.
Those who knew James would agree he was warm hearted, jovial, loyal and a very strong willed individual, with great family values and a wonderful of a sense of humor, truly one of a kind. Visitation to take place at Cauls Funeral Home in Torbay, Newfoundland on February 13th/2005 from 2:00pm to 10:00pm, with funeral services to be held at All Saints Anglican Church, Pouch Cove Newfoundland Monday February 14th/2005 at 2 pm. Ontario memorial gathering to be held on Saturday February 26th/2005 2pm – 4pm in the hearth room at 3151 Bridletowne Circle in Scarborough, Ontario. No flowers by the request of the family. Donations can be made in memory of James to the All Saints Anglican Church in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, The Cancer Society or Scarborough Grace Hospital.

Leaving to mourn his girlfriend Louise, and her sons Jason (Lisa), Danny (Megan); granddaughter Latisha, father-in-law William Stansbury; sisters-in-law Anne (Gord Kennedy), Alice, Barbara (Kenny), Wanda (Barry); nieces Tanya, Maria, Natasha, Cindy, Cathy and Kim and nephew Gordon.
