GROUCHY, Alice - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on January 18, 2005, Alice Grouchy, aged 86 years. Predeceased by her husband Philip (1976). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her two sons and four daughters: Mary (Bob), Philip (Nancy), Bernadette (Tom), Delores (Tom), Patsy (Clarence), Ted (Winnie); brother: Leo (Betty) of Rochester, N.Y.; Also leaving to mourn fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and her special friend Elizabeth Greene. A special thank you to her extended family at St. Patrick's Mercy Home who made life for Mom, while there, a beautiful place to live. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Wednesday, January 19 from 7-9 pm and Thursday, January 20 from 12 noon - 9 pm. Funeral Mass to take place on Friday, January 21 at 9:30 am from the Basilica. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to St. Patrick's Mercy Home.

HANRAHAN, John Joseph Passed peacefully away at St. Clare s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, age 72 years. Predeceased by his father George, November 1st, 1972, mother Catherine, October 27th, 2001, sister Rita Pynn, April 4th, 2002 and brother Louis, July 13th, 2002. Left with fond and loving memories, his daughter Jackie (Jim); sons: Gerry, Johnny and Shawn, and their mother Carmel; four grandchildren: Gary, Bradley, Jonathon and Tayler; brothers: Jerry (Doreen), Charlie (Alice); sister-in-law Helen Hanrahan; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Edward, March (1967), her parents James and Teresa Walsh, her brothers and sister Nicholas, Marie, Tone and Paddy and her granddaughter Stephanie Hunt. Leaving to mourn her 7 children; Pat (Phyllis) Dunville (Ontario), Betty (Billy Brown) Hubert (North Carolina), June (John) Hunt, Witless Bay, Sharon (Owen) O Neill, St. John s, Charlie (Louise) St. John s, Cindy (Jerry) Hillard, Jacksonville (North Carolina), and Teri (Jim) Evans, Mount Pearl, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, her brother Bill Walsh, Edmonton (Alberta), sisters; Phil, Mesa (Arizona), Sally (Hugh), Stoney Creek (Ontario), her best friend and sister Teresa Lawrence, St. John s, sister-in-law Ann Walsh, Fermeuse and a large number of relatives and friends especially the Wickens, Gallivan and Bulger families, and her Brine Street neighbors. Resting at Caul s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. Born April 1, 1923, St. John s, Newfoundland, passed peacefully away at 3:20 p.m., January 21st, 2005, at the Health Sciences Centre with her family and friends by her side, Florence E. Healey, formerly of Deer Lake. Predeceased by her mother and father, Mary and Martin Healey, her sisters Margaret Kennedy, Mary Pilgrim, Eileen Ball, Madonna O Brien and brothers Paddy and Thomas Healey. She will be ever loved by her daughter Anne Marie Spencer; granddaughters Jasmine (Dave) and Chelsea, of Mount Pearl; sister Belle MacDonald, Deer Lake and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Caul s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday from 7 p.m. 10 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. 10 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, January 24, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. from St. Peter s Church. Krista Lynette Hong
HONG, Krista Lynette passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2005, in Abingdon, Virginia after a courageous battle with cancer, Krista Lynette Hong of Paradise, age 19 years. Predeceased by her Grandmother Froni Hong, her Grandfather Frank Murphy and her Aunt Sheila Hong. Leaving to mourn their tragic loss are her parents, Cliff and Roslyn (Murphy); her loving brother, Scott Glynn; sister-in-law Jodi; nephews, Justin and Brandon; and niece Morgan. Left with fond and loving memories are her grandmother, Kay Murphy (Sinnott); (Nan) Jude Whelan; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; her close friends, Tara, Tegan, Jeanna, Candice, Adele, Ashley and Kerri; special friend Todd; and a large circle of relatives and other friends. Cremation has taken place. Leaving to mourn her husband of 55 years, James Anderson Kirkland; children Jim (Doreen), Wayne (Sherry), Don (Marie), Brian (Carolann), Tony (Barb), Mary (Kevin) and June (Peter); grandchildren; Andrew (Jandi), Chantal (Greg), Wayne (Christy), Jonathon, Michael, Nichole, Krista, Katie, Melissa, Justin, Dennis, Sheldon and Catherine; great-grandchildren: Taylor and Kirkland; sister Violet Wheeler and other special friends, Glenda, Charles, Anne, Mary and Sharon. Leaving to mourn his wife of 63 years, Margaret (nee Downey); children Pat (Linda), Peggy, Larry (Margaret), Jim (Corinne), Kevin (Carol) and Kathy (John); sister Kathleen Kielley; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; also many friends, relatives and neighbors. Predeceased by her husband, Peter (June 1990), brother William Thistle, August 1996. Leaving to mourn three sisters: May Evans (Mattthew deceased), Beatrice Evans (Frank deceased) and Hilda Murphy (John deceased); sister-in-law and special friend, Mary Thistle, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. McCarthy, Beatrice (nee Fowler) , June 13th, 1921 January 19th, 2005 Passed peacefully away at home, in the presence of her loving family, on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, after a long courageous battle with Breast Cancer. Predeceased by her husband, Edward Joseph. Leaving to mourn her loving daughter Patricia Maddigan (husband Patrick Malone), granddaughter Tina (fianc Danny) and grandson Sean; son Edward V. (wife Doris) and grandsons Edward D. (wife Stacey, and great-granddaughter Eden), Keith and Jeffery; and youngest daughter Pamela McCarthy (friend Moody) and granddaughter Melissa; sister-in-law and dear friend, Nellie O Grady and special niece Geraldine and husband David Morrissey, sister-in-law Marie Hounsell; sisters Eveline Fowler and Margaret McCarthy, also loving nieces and nephews and life long friend, Sadie Crummey. Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 53 years, William ( retired tinsmith) ; ten children: Brian (Connie), Brenda (Marty Sheir), Joe (Connie), Allison (Doug Myler), Karen (John Gallivan), Mary Lou (Bill Chretien), Connie, Gerard, Geraldine (Gerard Fulford), Brendan (Tracy); 10 grandchildren: John Paul, Paula Anne and David Gallivan; Leanne and Michael Murphy; Allison and Jamie Fulford; Matthew Myler, Sarah Murphy and William Murphy; one brother William, as well as a many other relatives and friends.
