PHILPOTT, Joan Madonna (nee Quinlan) – Passed peacefully away on Friday, March 11, 2005, in the presence of her loving family, Joan Philpott, at the age of 85. Predeceased by her husband, Patrick and her daughter, Regina. Leaving to mourn 3 sons: Kevin (Lynn), John (Jo-Marie) and Derrick (Denise); five daughters: Margaret (Sword), Marie (Charles Puddicombe), Joan (Gerard AuCoin), Cynthia and Dianne; 15 dearly loved grandchildren: Narda, Mark, Craig, Stephen, Kayla, Hollie, Kimberley, Heather, Nicolle, Christopher, Andrew, Haley, Andre, Amanda and Cameron; also two great-grandchildren Alyssa and Nicholas; one brother Pat Quinlan (Cathy); brother-in-law Aloysius Philpott (Mary) and lifetime friend Anne Connor of New Brunswick. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Funeral Mass on Monday, March 14th, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the Basilica. Cremation to follow. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, ten children, daughters: Eleanor Connolly (Ron), Stephenville Crossing, Clara Sharpe (Robert), Stephenville, Ann Yasman (Vernon), Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Rosalita Byrne (John), with whom she resided and grandson Glenn Byrne, St. John's, Marilyn Shea (Gordon), Bell Island; sons: Walter (friend Eileen), St. John's, Fergus (friend Linda), Nova Scotia, Gerald (Catherine), St. John's, Richard (friend Diane), Paradise and Brian (friend Renna), Foxtrap; sisters: Florence Stone (Frank - deceased), Red Head Cove, Gertrude Byrne (Henry - deceased), St. John's, Bridget Bradley (Larry - deceased), Connecticut, USA; brother, Walter Lahey (Gwendolyn - deceased), Bell Island; precious nanny to 28 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; a special friend of the family, Leo Byrne; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his mother Mary Elizabeth and father Richard Power; sisters Agnes, Annie and brother Mike. Leaving to mourn besides his wife Mary, 7 children Kevin (Dorothy), Marilyn (John), Keith (Sherry), Ken (Karen), Michelle (Danny), Kelly (Michelle) and Melissa (Paul); 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Christine O’Keefe and Kathleen Power; brother Adrian; sister-in-law Ethel; also other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband William Power in 2000. TEMPLEMAN, Eileen (nee McGrath) – Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on Sunday, March 20th, 2005, age 89 years. Predeceased by her husband, Wilfred, her daughter Margaret Nowe and son-in-law Ronald Nowe. Leaving to mourn three daughters: Barbara Hartling (Jim), Joanie Templeman and Sandra Fennelly (Tom); grandchildren: Steven (Cindy), Barbara (Ryan), Bruce, Jill, Julie, Scott (Lindsay), Keith (Simone) and Joanne; and great-grandchildren Ben and Chris. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.

WALSH, Catherine – Passed peacefully away on March 28th, 2005, at the Waterford Hospital, age 74. Predeceased by her parents, Phillip and Mary, her sisters Mary and Elizabeth, her brother Kevin and his wife Mary; brother-in-law George and nephew Phillip. Leaving to mourn her sisters Joan Holwell, Rose Kimmins, brothers: Jack (Pat) and Jim (Frances), and a large number of nieces and nephews, residents of N2A and the Waterford Staff. Special thanks to the wonderful staff and to Sr. Patricia for their continued devotion. Funeral services will take place at the Waterford Chapel, Thursday, March 31st, at 2 p.m. with visitation from noon – 2 p.m. Interment at Belvedere Cemetery.
