Loving mother of Brian and his wife Tammy, Corey and Tara. Adored grandmother of Ariel and Michaela. Cherished daughter of Glenn and Jean Phillips and sister of Gregg and Colleen. A Service of Remembrance will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel" 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) on Friday, January 4th at 1:00 P.M. with visitation from 12 noon until time of Service in the Chapel. Donations made in memory of Kerry to the Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated.

Dear father of Walter and his late wife Nina, and Steve and his wife Helen. Dido will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Danny and his wife Robin, Anna-Lisa and her husband Mark, Nina and her husband Vince, Kristina, and is predeceased by his grandson Michael. Great grandpa of Brooklyn, Cole and Carter. Nick is predeceased by his brothers and sister. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa. SOBIL Stephen
(40 year employee of General Motors of Canada in the Electrical Maintenance Department, Co-founder of Pebblestone Golf Course.) Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Corp-Oshawa on Tuesday December 25, 2001, in his 78th year. Will be missed by his wife Phyllis, daughters Heather, Mary and Donna Sobil, his son Stephen and wife Celeste, their children Daniel and William. Brother of Frank, Pete, Paul and wife Shirley. Predeceased by his brother Tom and sister May Lyczba. Remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews. Loving grandfather of Remi. Wayne will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends with whom he was so generous with his love, support and time. BROOKS, Mary Irene (nee Blancher)
Peacefully at the Ajax-Pickering Health Centre in Ajax on Monday, December 24, 2001. Mary, predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Jack Brooks, is survived by her daughter Barbara and her husband John, daughter Patricia, and daughter Anita and her husband Derek. Mary will be missed by her grandchildren Karen and Janet and by her brothers Charles and Rody and their families, as well as family members in England. Born on September 25, 1921, Mary grew up in Morrisburg, Ontario. She married Jack, an RAF airman stationed in Canada, after her graduation from McMaster University in 1943. They moved to Ajax in the 1950's. Mary was very active with her career as a high school teacher and also in the community. She had a close association with Holy Trinity Church, the Hospital Auxiliary and the Garden Club. Most of all, Mary was universally loved for her thoughtfulness, generosity and strength of character. She will be sorely missed. There will be a visitation at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax on Friday, January 4, 2002, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's-On-the-Hill Anglican Church (882 Kingston Road, Pickering) on Saturday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Church Building Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.

After a short illness, on Monday, December 24, 2001, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 72. Mary (nee Lennon), beloved wife of Joe Dowdall of Port Perry and formerly of Burnett Avenue, Willowdale. Loving grandmother of Jennifer, Talon, Kieran, Kyle, Siobhan, Liam and Bronwyn. Dear sister of Annie, Norah, Pat (deceased), Dan (deceased), Charlie, Theresa, and Margaret. Suddenly on December 24, 2001, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's Disease. Beloved father of Jim, Carmen, and Mary. Sadly missed by sisters Thelma, Velda, Delores and brother Nelson. He will be forever loved by all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear sister of Irene Lapenski and her late husband Marcel, Bernard Hudder and his wife Grace, Betty Dombroski and her husband Andrew, Darlene Hudder and her husband Slyvie, Glenn Hudder and his wife Janice, Ernie Hudder and his friend Lorraine, Felicia McPhail and her husband Tom. Loved daughter in law of Verna Hartwig and the late Daniel. Sister in law of Bud Hartwig, Bev Zoschke and her husband Nelson, Darlene Hardy and her husband Terry, Arthur Hartwig and the late Madeline Hamilton survive d by her husband Roy.
