Peacefully at Lakeridge Health-Bowmanville on Friday, January 25th, 2002. Lillian in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Walter. Dear mother of the late Douglas and survived by her sons George and his wife Mary and Walter. Caring Grandmother of Sean, Lisa; Wilson, Laurel; Denise, Gayle, Terri-Lyn and Christopher. Sadly missed by her niece Betty-Ann and her husband Douglas Manning. Lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends. HOSKIN, Dorothy Ileen

Peacefully surrounded by her family at Lakeridge Health - Bowmanville on Friday, January 25th, 2002 at the age of 74. Beloved mother of John Vivian, Al Vivian and Pam, Erla Laffin and Doug, Don Vivian, Leanne Reid and Dale Vivian and predeceased by her infant son Gerald Vivian. Caring grandmother of 25 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her brother Glenn (Doreen) and Bert. Predeceased by her parents Westley Norman Hoskin and Ettie May Wood, and brothers Frank, howard, Lorne, and sisters Lena Heard, Ella Ormiston and Breta Hoskin. The family announces with sorrow her death, after a long courageous struggle with cancer January 25, 2002 in Sudbury at the age of 20 years. Beloved daughter of Deborah Owens (husband Roger Desjardens) of Val Therese and of Dan Miller (wife Anita) of Whitby. Dear sister of Adam, Samantha and Brianne all of Val Therese. Granddaughter of Robert and Barbara (nee Stone) Owens of Oshawa and the late Arnold and of Barbara (nee Selleck) Miller of Oshawa. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and by her fiance Rick Boisvenue of Hanmer. Sarah was agraduate of Confederation Secondary School in Val Caron. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St. Joseph Street, Hanmer, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. and Monday friends may call after 12 noon. Funeral services to be held Monday January 28, 2002 at 1pm. in the chapel of the Co-Operative Funeral Home, Hanmer. Donations to the Northeastern Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated.

MOSIER, Walter

Of Oshawa, Ontario, passed away January 25, 2002 in Clearwater, Florida at the Morton Plant Hospital in his 86th year. Walter was born in Tweed Ontario and was employed at General Motors for 37 1/2 years where he retired in 1974. He was a Sergeant in the Ontario Regiment Tank Corp, Oshawa and was overseas for 5 years during World War 11. Beloved wife Hazel of 62 years. Two sonsRobert & wife Helen, Glenn & wife Phyllis, all of Oshawa. Four grandchildren, Jeff, Kim & husband Rob, Sherry and Blair and six great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held Saturday February 16th at 11 a.m. at Centennial Albert United Church, 19 Rosehill Blvd., Oshawa.

PORTER, Gordon Robert

Late of Seagrave, Ontario. Born in the Beach on Silverbirch Ave., Toronto, December 8, 1914. passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, January 25, 2002 at Lakeridge Health Centre, Port Perry, Ontario. Gordon was predeceased by beloved wife Vera Irene (Starkie) in 1967. They were married 32 years. Dear Dad of Joan, Shirley, Gladys, Gene, Betty and Robert. Loved Grampa of 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, a total of 5 generations. Gord was a long time manager of A.E. Brown Marine on Main St. in the Beach. Co-founder and Life Rear Commodore of the Canadian Boating Federation. A founding member of the Toronto Hydroplane Club at Ashbridges Bay. The driving force behind what is now the Toronto Boat Show. He was a three time Canadian High Point Champion for C Class racing and was a proficient builder of racing and pleasure craft in the forties and fifties. A Journeyman carpenter (Joiner) by trade. A Grand Master Mason in the Chisolm Lodge. Gordon Robert Porter has been cremated as per his wishes. His family will celebrate his 87 years of life at the Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street, Port Perry, Ontario, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2002. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gord's name to the Scugog-Uxbridge Humane Society would be appreciated.
