TAYLOR, Arthur Osborne

In his 73rd year. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Monday, January 14, 2002, at the Community Nursing Home, Pickering, Ont. Loving husband, for 50 years, of Alice (nee Craig). Devoted father of Brenda and husband Gary, Doug and wife Margaret, Sandra and husband John, and Judy and husband Gary. Sadly missed by grandchildren Ryan, Shawn, Allison, Lynn, Jamie, Taylor, Samantha, Robbie, Alexandra and Patrick. Art will be dearly missed by family and friends. All are invited to a celebration of his life at 1784 Appleview Road, Pickering, ON, on Thursday, January 17, 2002 from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family. CLODD, Elroy George

At his home in Stouffville, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, on Sunday, January 13, 2002. Elroy, in his 85th year, survived by his wife Emma (White), children Robert (Esther), Marilyn (Bill) Cargill, and Harold (Faith). He will be sadly missed by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Brother of Marie (Jim) Smith, Joyce (Doug) Page and the late Evelyn, Harvey and George. Peacefully at Strathaven Lifecare Centre on Sunday, January 13, 2002, Florence Rachel Crydermand (nee Foley) age 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Howard Cryderman. Dear mother of Carlos and Beverley, Guelph; Jim, Bowmanville; David and Linda, Aylmer; Ben and Lillian, Sarnia; Esther and Paul Robinson and Ralph and Mickey both of Bowmanville and the late Shirlie Cryderman Dunk. Lovingly remembered by 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Iva Twist, Louise Bell, and Marion Allin and her husband (Ross). Cherished great grandmother of Jocelyn and Aaron Bangay. Will be missed by her sister Gertrude Donahue of Nova Scotia. WOZNY, Justyna

Peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side, at Hillsdale Manor on Sunday January 13th, 2002. Justyna in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Marijan Wozny (Sunday May 6th, 1979). Loving mother of Olga Burnat and her husband Walter, Jane Taylor and her husband Bob, Marjan and his wife Karen Wozny. Lovingly remembered Baba of Mary and her husband Richard Bosworth, Walter Burnat and his wife Cathy, Rob Taylor and his wife Shannon, Nadine Taylor, Matt Taylor and his wife Lori, John, Melissa, Michael, Monique Wozny, and Babcha of Julya Campbell and her husband Doug, Charles, Christopher, Madison, Abigail, Dylon and great great grandmother of Cameron. Justyna arrived in Oshawa in 1949 from Horodnycia, Ukraine and became one of the true pioneers in the Ukrainian community. She survived both world wars and challenged every obstacle that stood before her to make this a better life for her family. Her strong faith in God, her love of the Ukrainian community and her determination will be missed by everyone. As a parish "sister" she was committed to her church. She loved to dress up the altars with flowers from her garden. And, her beautiful singing voice will echo in our minds forever. In 2001 she she was awarded for her dedication of 50 years voluntary service by the Minister of Citizenship. She retired from Sklar Furniture. She never lost touch with her family back home in Ukraine, and always kept us together. A very proud lady she was, she often reminded us that her roots were very strong here in Canada. You are now walking in God's garden. Your spirit will live in us forever. Resting at the Armstong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East with Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church on Thursday January 17th, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. Interment St. Wolodymyr and St. Olha Cemetery. Prayers in the Chapel Wednesday 7:30 P.M. Donations in memory of Justyna to St. George's Ukrainian Seniors Residence would be appreciated. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Wednesday.

Nowlan of Bowmanville, Grace Shifflet and her husband John of Kingston, Harold Kennett and his wife Cindy of Oshawa, George (Joe) Kennett and his wife Eveline of Bowmanville and the late Evelyn Card. Loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. Friends were able to call at the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division St., Bowmanville on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held in our Chapel on Tuesday at 1pm. (Korean War Veteran, and long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #112). Peacefully at home on Saturday January 12th, 2002. Josie, in his 71st year. Predeceased by his parents Alexander Hugie and Theresa McMaster of Judiue Cape Breton. Loving brother of Christine MacEachern and her husband Mel Semicek of Michigan. Loving stepbrother of Harold Gillie and his wife Nancy, Muriel Hooper and her husband Bob, and Wayne Gillie and his wife Sheila of Nova Scotia. Dear uncle of Mary MacEachern of Michigan, Don MacEachern of Florida, Sheila Christie and her husband Robert, Jim MacEachern of Michigan, and the late Woody MacEachern. Step uncle of Nancy Lynn and her husband Rob Sweet, Richard Gillie and his wife Shelly, Scott Hooper and his wife Cindy, and Rhonda and her husband John Pottery. Predeceased by her brother Kenneth Rawn and survived by her sister-in-law Ida Rawn. Fondly remembered by her niece Kristine, nephew Barry and their families. SHIER, Helena (Hallowell)

On January 12, 2002 at Toronto Grace Hospital after alengthy battle with cancer, in her 83rd year. Predeceased by her husband Elmer Shier, brothers Gordon, Lloyd and sister Alice. Beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Will be sadly missed by her many friends. Dear sister of Mrs. L Gray (Stella) of Kinsale, Lloyd Prescott of Oshawa, half-sister to Earl Prescott and Ken Hardy of Oshawa and Chester Prescott of British Columbia. Special grandmother to Brent, Ronnie, Amanda and Taylor Stokes. Longtime friend of Vic, Mary, Rhonda and Michael Saikaly. Predeceased by her mother Lily Prescott, sisters; Marion Malette, Helen Prescott, Audrey Baker, Doris Prescott, brothers; Roy Prescott and Ross Prescott.
