McCOLL, Brian John -

passed away peacefully at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital after 54 years of life and a year long battle with cancer. As a son to Rod and Jean McColl, a husband to Bonnie, a father to Michael and Kacey and as a friend and relative to many, he will be forever in our hearts. Brian will be remembered. Resting at the Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge 23 Main Street South on Monday, June 17th, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the chapel on Tuesday, June 18th at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Donations will be accepted for the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation or Markham-Stouffville Hospital Cancer Unit.

VALCOUR, John Henry -

Died at his home, The Carriage House Retirement Residence, Oshawa, on Friday, the 14th day of June, 2002 in 81st year. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Rosemary (Tobin). He is also survived by his daughter, Anita Reansbury (Paul) of Brantford, Ontario, his sons Lance (Lise) of Orleans, Ontario; Stewart (Judith) of Rothesay, NB.; and Gary (Mary-Louise) of Oshawa. Beloved Papa of Jean-Francois, Dominic, Mathieu, Jo-anna, Nicholas, Laurie Anne, Stephanie, Jarrett, Benjamin, Josh, Patrick, Tobin, Trevor, Tierney and Alexandra. John was pre-deceased by his sister Hazel Lightle (Percy) and brothers Lorne (Jean) and Harvey (Muriel) and is survived by his brother Donald (Margaret) of Kemptville, Ontario as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Reverend Fathers Casullo and Moloney as well as Dr. Anthony Stone and the staff of Lakeridge Health Bowmanville who were all so kind during his several recent hospitalizations. A special thanks to Dr. Dick Giroux for his extraordinary care over the past decade and our deep gratitude to the staff of The Carriage House who, despite the brevity of his stay, became extended family. Peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Friday, June 14th, 2002 at Toronto General Hospital at the age of 70. Caring husband of Annie (nee McEvoy). Loving father of Jacqueline and her husband Ken McFarlan of Dubai, and John and his wife Terresa of Vancouver. Dear grandfather of Chelsea, Nicola and Cassandra. Peter is survived by his sisters Maud and Pauline of England and brother Brian and his wife Iris of Portugal. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. (20 year employee of General Motors Canada, Oshawa South Plant, member of Sunnybrae Golf and Country Club). Peacefully called to heaven on Thursday, June 13, 2002, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Jansen-Mennen. Always loving and proud of all his children, Wilma and Wayne Coughlin, Mary and Bob Bentley, John and Filipinas, Jim and Elaine, Phillip and Angie, Henry and Karen, Johnny and Pattie, and Martin. Opa will be sadly missed by his precious grandchildren Denise, Michael, Vanessa, Tracy, Christopher, Kelly, Paul, Laura, Gregory, Bryan, Stephen, Carissa, Erin, Kevin, Jenna, Grace and Adrian. Loving brother of Peter, George, Johannes, Frank, Jim, Hein, Adrianus, Bert, and predeceased by Martinus, Johanna, Hendrica, Wilhelmus and Antonius. John's successful career began at General Motors in St. Catharines, and he quickly advanced to executive position in General Motors Oshawa and Detroit, completing his career as President of EDS Canada. Dearly missed by twin sister Lea Barnes, brother Larry Hilts and sister Laurel and husband Timm Nichols. Daughter-in-law of Evelyn and the late Reginald Holmes.
